Windows Giving Error Unless Booting Directly From Boot Menu In BIOS
Feb 26, 2016So, this is a really weird problem I've only JUST started to encounter. I went to go overclock my CPU, as I've been playing FF14 a lot these past few months and figured an overclock would work out with the events taking massive chunks out of my framerate whenever I go near a populated area.
So, the Overclock failed, and I had to restart my computer and go back into the BIOS to reset everything to factory. This is where it gets weird. Now, whenever I boot up my PC it'll go into Windows but give me a 0xc0000225 Error. But, when I go into BIOS and go into the boot menu and boot my SSD from there, it works flawlessly. It's not a /massive' inconvenience I suppose, but it's still baffling.
I've got an Asus Z97-A Motherboard.

Sep 8, 2015I finally got around to building a computer and it was working fine until a few days ago I turned it on and something strange happened. Directly after the msi dragon bios prompt screen, when it should be booting Windows, the screen starts flashing white with two black squares on it. It only seems to happen after it has been off for some time, like over night, and after turning restarting it a few times it eventually works. For some reason invidia driver 355.82 does not like Windows 10 try darkbreeze's solution and install driver 355.60.Here is a parts list

In Windows 7 the key was:

But in Windows 10 registry address is changed I think. What is the new address?

Aug 27, 2015I haven't been impressed with configuring the Start Menu so far. I would like to be able to create new groups in the Start Menu, including the fancy tiles and be able to create my own shortcuts in each group.
I looked at the tutorial All apps in Start menu - Add or Remove Items in Windows 10 but this doesn't work as described. I tried creating a group for all users and copying shortcuts to that group but some items are not shown.
I've installed Classic Shell which I've been using in Windows 8. This gives all the features I need and also still lets you use the standard Windows menu giving you the best of both worlds.

Have to say, I really want the Windows 8 style Start back. Muscle memory has me wanting to hit Start, and then quickly mouse over to the This PC tile in the lower left corner. There is no more lower left corner.

Mar 5, 2016Im trying to sort out a problem, recently I noticed that I cant add tiles to the start menu, I cant delete ones already there, I cant move them where I want them to be and that the *context* menu that appears when I right click on the tiles already pinned to the start menu only contains the work "more" with an arrow that opens a sub menu giving me a few options but nothing about unpinning from the start menu or choosing the size of the tile, I am given the option to pin to the taskbar (ive tried it and that does work). Searching for answers in the forum I came across one called "cannot move start menu tiles".
As a last resort and one I was sure would sort the problem out, and that was to perform an upgrade repair. Well it made no difference to my start menu tiles. I have windows 10 loaded on an older hp laptop (cq57) and the whole process took slightly more that 6 hours to complete. Since I don't often customise my start menu tiles I cant say when the problem began and therefore narrow the cause down to a conflict with an installed program or something else. I do remember that about a month ago that my pc took a long time to shut down but no error messages popped up and it did eventually shut down. I also remember that suddenly my Microsoft office outlook 2016 started freezing when I used the program to create a new email or when I replied to an email I received.
In trying to sort out that problem I think I may have caused this start menu tile problem, I read somewhere on the internet that I needed to belong to a special group of administrators to perform one of the things I had to do. It didn't change anything after I joined this special group so I uninstalled ms office and then reinstalled it and the new email, reply to an email was working fine. That's when I noticed the start menu tile problem and that was about a month ago. One thing I read somewhere that I need to modify an administrator template.

Aug 4, 2015I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.
When I first installed Windows 10 the Start Menu had categories like "Life at a glance" and so on. However, I removed all of the tiles because at that time I felt like I didn't need them.
Now, I would really like to have the News tile and Weather tiles back but adding them to Start Menu doesn't seem to be able to activate the Animated versions that I had of these tiles when I first installed Windows 10. Like shown:
As you can see in the above image the "News tile" has a live picture and title relating to certain news whilst mine is a static tile and doesn't act this way. I have tried turning Live Tile on and also making the tile larger in size.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make the tiles animated again.
Customization :: Any Way To Turn Off The Alphabet In Start Menu?
Aug 5, 2015So I generally like the W10 start menu with the exception of the alphabet soup in my all apps listings. It's making it look very cluttered and actually disorganized even though everything is obviously listed alphabetically.
Is there a way to turn off the alphabet letters and just list everything that I have in there alphabetically without needing to show me
