View 1 RepliesSo when I installed windows 10 my mouse stopped working but its been recognized in device manager and I don't know whats wrong. Mouse is ps/2 ....
View 1 RepliesI am running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit on a Lenovo T420 laptop and use the following two monitors in extended display mode:
1.) ASUS PA238Q connected via DisplayPort (Primary Display)
2.) Samsung Syncmaster 245BW connected via DVI (Secondary Display)
The display of the monitors works perfectly, it's just that when I start windows, the audio comes through my laptop speakers. Under "Playback devices", it lists the ASUS as "Not plugged in." If I either power-cycle my ASUS or disconnect and re-connect the displayport cable, the monitor is detected as plugged in under "playback devices" and the audio comes through the speakers attached to the ASUS monitor.
I have a Intel HD Graphic 3000 card and the Intel HD graphics app correctly recognized my monitors by their true model #. Device Manager has my laptop display (LCD 1600x900), SyncMaster 245B/245BW/245BPlus(Digital) and Generic PnP Monitor listed (instead of ASUS PA238Q). There do not seem to be any drivers for the ASUS monitors off their site that I could find.
I have upgraded my OS to Windows 10 from 7 and I can not see the PORTS(COM and LTE) in the device manager. I tried everything but don't know how to find it.
View 5 RepliesI installed Win10 Pro x64 from scratch on my desktop computer and that is the only OS I have on that computer. The Device Manager shows an alert - please check the attachment. I have Nvidia Geforce 9400 and have updated the drivers. How can I get rid of that alert ?
View 9 RepliesI just noticed that in device manager Microsoft Basic Driver Adapter is enabled not my NVIDIA Geforce 6200 TC. Is there anyway to get it back or do I have to wait for an update? Or should I revert back to Windows 7 and go to Windows 10 when its ready.
View 1 Repliesive noticed lately that the information for hard drivers is totally incorrect, all firmware for drives is up to date, mobo bios is latest but drive info is sque wiff.
View 3 RepliesI've just added a 2nd HD to my Dell system with Win 10. It shows in the BIOS and Seagate tools finds it. It does not show up in Device manager or Computer Management/Storage - Disc Management or anywhere. Not sure if this si Won 10 specific.
View 2 RepliesI have an odd issue where a Samsung SSD that is no longer in my system is still showing. The weird thing is if I bring up the properties, and then populate the fields of the drive (by pressing the populate button), it shows the capacity of the newer drive which is double the size. This drive is not a Samsung drive though. So I'm not sure what's going on here - see picture where it clearly states (at the top) that I'm looking at the properties of a 250GB Samsung drive, but the populated fields show it to be a 480GB drive.
View 17 RepliesI just upgraded to Windows 10; not much problems for me, except one that I really wish I new that before upgrading.
Let me just say this; the Windows 10 app on my pc (running Win7 Ultimate) did not say anything about this issue, that's why I upgraded.
Under my windows 7 I had 2 Realtek RTL8168D PCI-E Gigabit Nic; which I had setup for teaming with the Realtek Teaming Utility; after the upgrade I found out that utility was not compatible with Windows 10, which sucks.
My real problem is under the Device Manager I only see one (1) Nic listed.... is this normal for Windows 10?
Also, how to setup a NIC Team without using the Realtek utility?
Why my windows 10 recognizes my second gpu as a removable device?

I plugged in my USB drive and I get notification USB device not recognized. In This PC it shows but it looks like this:When I right click to try and format it, nothing happens. I also tried renaming the drive letter, nothing. I tried many USB fix tools, such as, USB drive defender, Flobo, mUSB Fixer, USB Refresh, USBFix 2016, and most of them didn't even see the device in the list. It's SanDisk Cruzer 16GB.
View 3 RepliesWhen I plug a USB3 flash drive into either USB3 port the message is Windows does not recognize it.
If I plug the same drive into another computer USB3 port everything is fine.
If I partially plug the drive in so that it only hits the USB2 contacts it works fine.
If I plug it into a USB2 port it works fine.
The drivers are installed. I uninstalled them and let it reinstall - same thing.
Just upgraded from Windows 7 to windows 10 --all working well except continually get message " USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED ,the last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it "I have gone into Device manager and see the yellow icon next to "unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed ) I have tried deleting it, disabling it , updating the drivers and still get this stupid error message. Which USB caused the problem . No usb presently connected. I will not update other 2 computers to 10 if I cannot get this resolved. Was not a problem with Windows 7
View 5 RepliesMy Targus amu73ap mouse that was workinG perfectly with 8.1 is not working on either my PC or Asus T100 hybrid after the update to windows 10. I keep getting a message saying that the usb device malfunctioned.
View 1 RepliesTonight, I tried to look at my mouse properties in Device Manager. I wasn't able to do anything, because for some reason my Device Manager is refreshing every second. I can't click on anything and I don't know how to stop it from doing this.
View 1 RepliesI just bought a Sades SA 901 and am trying to install it. Software will not install because device is not properly recognized and does not request a driver install when plugged into any usb port.
View 3 RepliesI have googled this all over the place and there are all sorts of issues with DVD / CD-ROM players no longer being recognized but I haven't come across the same problem I'm having.
I upgraded to Windows 10 64bit from Windows 7 64bit. One day while I was transferring data from my SSD boot drive to my HDD storage drive everything locked up, I got an error message (that I didn't save) and all of a sudden my HDD was no longer visible in My Computer. I ran into all sorts of issues following this and believed that something had corrupted during the data transfer so I opted to disconnect my HDD and do a fresh install of windows with a format on my SSD.
Everything was working well until one day the same thing happened with my DVD/CR-ROM drive, it just disappeared from My Computer. I went to install / check for updated drivers in Device Manager and I believe I clicked uninstall by mistake.
Now when I look at Device Manager there is not even a DVD/CD-ROM option (menu spot for it).
Above: So here you can see My Computer, there is my SSD Boot drive but the DVD / CD-ROM is not there
Above: The DVD / CD-ROM drive does not show up in Disk Management, I've tried rescanning drives, refresh, nothing. (As an aside, what are those unnamed disks???)
Above: Device Manger, there is not even an option to view DVD / CD-ROM drives.
Above: Regedit - A fix I saw was to check this registry for UpperFilters and LowerFilters both of which were not there so I didn't touch anything here.
So far I have done the following troubleshooting:
Turned off the PC and unplugged the CD/DVD drive from the Sata Port. Restarted the PC and loaded windows. Shut off the PC again and re-connected the CD/DVD drive.
When I started the PC back up I entered BIOS and the drive shows up under Sata Port 2 like it should:
ASUS DVD RAM GH75N
There is power to the drive, it opens and closes and if I put a disk in it spins up.
So this leads me to believe the drive is ok and the cable / port are good as it's being recognized.
I think my biggest concern is not being able to see a menu in Device Manager for DVD/CD-ROM drives. I'm not sure how it got removed or how to get it back.
I'm going to try and contact ASUS to see if they have specific drivers for this drive meant for Windows 10.
For some reason I can't run the Device Manager. After a couple of minutes I get a "did not respond in a timely fashion" message ...
The PC otherwise runs fine.
Upgrade from win 7 pro 64 to 10 pro 64. All hardware and software was new, name brand and authorized at time of original build. The bios shows the drive as sata 3. I checked the windows advisor and the drive is rated as acceptable. It's an Asus sata dvd-+rw.I used every windows repair and diagnostic tool I could find to no avail. The only update for the dvd player was firmware which I installed. I tried switching the bios to auto play but it did nothing.
I did have problems with the upgrade. I could not get the upgrade icon although I had all the required files and had auto upgrades set, so I downloaded 10 to a dvd and did the upgrade. That's the last time the dvd player was recognized. It is working. Asus loads a mini os on it's mother boards called Speed Gate. I can use Speed Gate to to read file on a dvd but it wont execute.I tried making a recovery usb but it fails. I then tried reset but it disconnects the key board and mouse so I have to do a hard restart so reset fails too. I tried restarting with the win 10 dvd in the drive but it wasn't recognized. To update the bios the instructions say use the install disc. I tried using Speed Gate but could only see the list of files. It does give the option of using the asus update utility which should be in programs (apps in 10) but it isn't there.
When I updated my computer from windows 7 to windows 10, all of a sudden I don't seem to have a CD/DVD drive anymore. It shows up in the BIOS but not on the actual computer. I have tried to make sure the computers all plugged in correctly and it is. So what can I do to resolve this issue, and if there are so many problems with windows 10 why on earth allow have of the entire population download, especially when MICROSOFT should have thought of all the bugs and fixed them ahead of time. Its not fair to offer free upgrades, when its essentially a downgrade?
View 6 RepliesI have just built a new PC around a MSI gaming 7 motherboard and an i5 Skylake processor, running windows 10.
Everything is running great but I have the following errors in device manager:
Trusted Platform Module 2.0 is not working properly - drivers are up to date.
Corsair Hydro series 7289 USB device - drivers up to date .
i have acer aspire 4750G with intel core i5. when i upgraded to windows 10, it didn't trace bluetooth device in device manager.
View 1 RepliesMy Win10 install, 64 bit, (over Win7 64 bit) runs OK. But Device Manager doesn't see the Optical Drive. The drive was "G" under Win7 and functioning.
Tried the "New Hardware" tab several times and looked at the BIOS. Nothing seems amiss but the drive is not there.
I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and I wanna play a old game which requires the disk to run, it worked fine in W7 because it could find my DVD drive, but now it is simply not there... Not even in Device Manager.
View 1 RepliesI have disable my graphic adapter by mistake in device manager in windows 10, now my computer does not show the desktop but only a blue blinking screen with the mouse pointer.
Is it possible to re-enable it in windows safe mode?(it starts fine in this mode)...
