View 2 RepliesI have a Toshiba Satellite P55-A5200 laptop with a CD/DVD player. I insert the CD/DVD, I can hear it starting up and making noise, but then nothing happens. What do I need to do to play these disks?
View 1 RepliesI recently bought a new Toshiba touch screen Laptop, primarily for my recording studio and on-site recordings. It works well with my DAW Software (Sonar Platinum) and my recording hardware.
However, it does not have the Stereo Mix and from what I find there is no way to add it, as it apparently has been disabled in the hardware.
I have a Toshiba Laptop with an AMD processor, 4gb Ram, 500 Gig hard drive with 366gb free. It is running very slow. I have over 70 processes running. I'm pretty sure I don't need that many but I don't know what is needed and what is not. I've tried to copy the list but can't figure out how to do it. I'm using open office.
View 4 RepliesThe camera on my Toshiba S50-B laptop worked fine when on the original Windows 8.1 but doesn't work now that I have upgraded to Windows 10. It says "Something went wrong - make sure your camera is connected and not being used by another application". I have tried everything I know of and find no reason. Is there another driver required or ...? I cannot even find the camera.
View 2 RepliesI have toshiba l50-b-235 laptop with built-in Onkyo stereo speakers, enhanced by DTS Sound, Skullcandy certified and now all of sudden since upgrading to windows 10 from windows 8 the volume is really low (it has dropped around 50%). what can i do to fix it.

Computer Model/ Specs:
Toshiba Satellite L50D - B
Serial No. ZE257837C
Processor: AMD A6-6310 APU with AMD Radeon R4 Graphics 1.80 GHz
RAM: 8.00 GB (6.96 GB usable)
System Type: 64-bit Operating System(Windows 10), x64 based Processor
My laptop goes to sleep and never wakes up without having to force a restart. I have changed the settings so it will never sleep or turn off the display, but, it goes to sleep anyway
So, I don't know how to fix it, and I need to know how. I turn my back for 5 minutes, and all my unsaved work is lost cause I have to force a shutdown. The computer goes to sleep, I press the on button, the computer starts doing its usual hum, the number lock light turns on, and nothing else happens.
my Toshiba Satellite has Windows 10 and it shows that it's connected to the internet though when i try and run chrome it say's it's not connected when i run steam it say's it cannot connect to the steam network.
View 1 RepliesI have a new Toshiba C55-C5241 Laptop, which came pre-loaded with Windows 10. (See Specs)
I clean installed Windows 10 last weekend. All went very well. I just started loading programs this weekend.
I started noticing the blue screen stops yesterday. These happen coming out of Sleep. I probably never would have noticed these before because I was not leaving the machine alone long enough for it to go into Sleep. So unfortunately I do not know when the behavior started - from the beginning or after some software installation.
Here are my reports: SCULLY-Sun_08_30_2015__64736_97.zip
Blue screens are mostly "Kernal Data Inpage Error" and the more serious "Critical Process Died", both I understand to be processor related.
I did not have the presence of mind to test or check any of this early on. But I do have images of the original factory installation and of the fresh, clean install (before any customization or software installs). I do not believe that I ever tried Sleep Mode on the original factory installation.
The stops happen very consistently when on battery power, less so when plugged in. For a while I thought they did not occur when plugged in - this was not the case. They seem to be more consistent when manually going into sleep, not so much when it goes into sleep from Power Settings.
All of the drivers in the clean install were the same as the drivers in the factory installation (at the time I finished). I did not turn off automatic driver update for a few days. I will check the driver list for changes later.
Software installed (in order) : Avast!, Firefox, Office 2010 (H&S), Nitro Reader, VLC (64 bit), Handy Address Book (a prog I've been using for years), Malwarebytes, CCleaner (never run), and Winamp. I am thinking of restoring the clean install image today (start over). Just to see if the behavior started then.
I installed window 10 today and cannot play any CDas there is no sound. DVD picture is fine but no sound. My computer is a Dell PC 260 and has AMD 6450 card. I tried very hard to make it work. I don't where the problem is. I had window7 before and had no problem with any thing.

Same issue with Windows Movie Maker, no video only sound.
I bought a new Lenovo G50 laptop a month ago. I updated from 8 to 10. Now, my VLC as well as my Windows Media player freeze. My Chrome and Edge also freeze with certain websites such as Facebook and news sites. Other sites are fine, such as this.

View 5 RepliesAs a keen flickr member I have a lot of photographs on my computer. These are all neatly allocated to different files, depending upon a variety of variables. So far....all is well.
Yesterday my neighbour kindly upgraded me to Windows 10. Everything seemed fine.
Today I tried to take 4 photographs off my camera and load them up to my computer. Initially I got a dialogue box asking me what I would like to do in future when I plugged in my camera - I said "upload the pix to my computer".
Previously they have always arrived on my desktop in a separate file. I would then edit them, afterwards splitting them up into different files, depending on what I want to do with them.
Anyway, this morning, after taken 4 photographs, I plugged in my camera. I then get a message saying "We found 880 photos. Would you like to import them into your picture folder". And the only alternatives given were IMPORT or CANCEL.
I do NOT want all my pix jumbled together in a picture folder. I want them all neatly organized into the folders I have set up.
Is there any way I can get rid of this 'Picture folder' and go back to using my existing folders (they are all still there, and all still containing the photographs they should rightfully contain.)
My laptop makes a beeping noise that sounds like a 80's laser gun effect.
It's working normally, just it has beeping.

I recently updated my Asus N55SF laptop to Windows 10. Everything is working, but the internal speakers in the laptop are not working. However, headphones and HDMI audio is working. I've tried the newest drivers from Microsoft and from the Realtek website. What I can do here?
View 2 RepliesAfter a successful upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 I discovered that YouTube would not play. Fixed the video problem by running in compatibility mode .. BUT then noticed there was no sound from either speakers or headphones on my laptop. No Windows sounds, iTunes, nothing worked. Could this be a setting inadvertently turned "off' somewhere ? Up until I got YouTube working the sound was fine with Windows 10. I just don't know where to look to rectify this. Rebooting etc doesn't make any difference. I don't suspect a hardware fault, it must be an OS corruption or something.
View 3 RepliesYesterday I updated my OS from Windows 7 to Windows 10. All seems to be working swimmingly apart from the sound, which doesn't work at all. I checked the drivers and it says that they've been updated yesterday along with the OS change. Oh, I use Dell Vostro V131 laptop.

View 7 RepliesI have a Fangbook III made by Cyperpower PC. I am unable to play sound via the on-board speakers for the laptop. I am however able to play sound through the 3.5mm auxiliary jack input. I have speakers set as default device under the playback settings.
This is where is gets strange. Whenever I attempt to delete the Realtek audio driver, whether it is through windows or a 3rd-party driver uninstallation software, Realtek always comes back within a few seconds. Right before it does come back, under playback, it separates speakers and headphones with both having the driver High Definition Audio Device. If I hurry before the Realtek driver comes back the speakers seems to work! But once the Realtek audio speakers comes back, the default speakers and headphones goes away and I continue to have the same problem with the Realtek driver.
I attempted to reformat the computer with windows 10 and erase all drivers but Realtek was already installed. I assume it is required for this specific laptop? How to direct the Reaktek High Definition Audio driver to use the speakers instead of the auxiliary jack?

I have been experiencing an audio problem very recently with my laptop (Model Schenker C505).
Whenever I close my laptop lid, and make my laptop go to sleep, the audio will not reactivate once I wake it up. However, a restart of the system seems to do the trick and the sound starts working again.
I have updated all my sound drivers (Realtek High Definition Audio) and restarted Windows Audio and Audio Endpoint in system services but the sound just won't come on.
I have noticed that the laptop does not go to sleep nearly as quickly (almost instantly) as before when the sound was fully functioning. Perhaps this could be part of the issue?
I read through the forum and used the instructions given using an external mouse to sort he touchpad issue out. But my clickers won't work. It's a Toshiba satellite C50D-B-120 laptop and prior to his I had windows 8.1.
View 1 RepliesI have a Toshiba Satellite m645 with Windows 10. I'm seriously trying everything just to access the UEFI/BIOS settings on this computer. I know that you have to go to Update & Security and reboot through the advanced settings. Then you click troubleshoot and in that menu should hold a uefi settings option but my computer just doesn't and I'm not able to press esc/f2 on startup to access bios either because that simply doesn't work. Why don't I have a uefi settings option?
View 4 RepliesI was attempting to upgrade my Toshiba 8.1 to windows 10 and was offered to update bios and Atheros Wireless Lan Driver. I mistakenly did both updates and now have lost the Lan Driver. I obtained usb system recovery from Toshiba but when I attempt to recover, the Atheros Wireless Lan Driver wont and I am stuck. Is there anyway that I can reinstall the driver and finish recovering my pc? I have download the driver onto my usb.
