I think i accidentally deleted some system variables in my windows 10 OS. What are the defaults variables and their values. This is my variables and i found a post in your forum Environment Variables in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums
So think i deleted %CD%Current directory full path%CMDCMDLINE%Returns exact command line used to start current cmd.exe session.% CMDEXTVERSION% Number of current command processor extensions.
(The number of primitive bugs in version 1511 is just imagination-defying.)
Open Control Panel. Open User Accounts applet. On the left there's a link that says Change my environment variables.
Clicking on that link... does nothing (!!!). The link is simply dead.
What on Earth is going on??? How are we supposed to change environment variables in non-Administrator accounts now? This Change my environment variables link in User Accounts was provided specifically for that purpose. There's no other natural way to do it.
I know that there are workarounds for this (all ugly), but... WTH? Did they do even basic testing on this 1511 release???
P.S. Just confirmed that pre-1511 Windows 10 works normally in that regard. This damage was done specifically by 1511 update.
I've just copied my 500gb disk into 128gb SSD disk using EUSEUS Partition Master. After that MBR,boot and BCD was screwed up. I couldn't boot from SSD. So i've just used Windows 10 installation DVD then fixed mbr,boot and rebuilded bcd. After that F11 function key which is used to run Lenovo Recovery enviroment dissapeared from pre-boot menu. What i need to say that on HDD disk everything works perfectly. I don't use this HDD anymore, just SSD. I want to be able to run recovery enviroment from pre boot (using F11 key).
View 2 RepliesA couple of weeks ago I upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Now I'm going to sell my laptop, so I've decided to reset Windows 10.
I opened settings, update & Security, recovery and then chose the "Reset this PC" option. I chose Remove everything, but then I get prompted with a window saying "Could not find the recovery environment. Insert your Windows Installation or recovery media, and restart your PC with the media.
Does Defender Offline is supposed to be a default option for the recovery environment? I don't see any options for it, or do I have to use ICD to create a custom option for the WIM?
View 2 RepliesI realise this problem would be similar regardless of which Windows being used. I partitioned my HD and moved documents to new partition. Mistakenly removed the partition without restoring files. Is there any way of recovering the lost files?
View 8 RepliesI have a small Acer computer that runs a weather program that takes data from my weather station and updates my weather page on the internet. I bought the computer new with Windows 8 and upgraded to Windows 10, then did a clean install of 10. Everything is working great except for one thing, I can't delete files, they keep returning to the folder.
I will occasionally use the snipping tool to save a file as jpeg and then use it to update my Facebook page. I also download the latest update to my Weather program. I go to these folders, Download and Documents, I delete several file and later that day they have returned. I have even used Bit Defender File Shredder to delete them and they still come back. I've been a Windows 7 user for many years and never ran into this issue.
I have an HP laptop that shipped with Windows 8.1. I upgraded to Windows 10 weeks ago and tonight I accidentally reformatted my D: drive recovery partition.
I have recovery media on a USB pen drive that I made back when I first set up my computer.
Has Windows 10 changed the D: recovery partition during the upgrade or will it be the exact same image the computer shipped with?
how I can get the recovery files back on the D: partition?

View 1 RepliesI have a folder that I created for resized images. I now do not need (Want) this folder. I can delete it, but it returns. I have tried all I can find to get myself rid of this folder...Safe-Mode, unlocker, moving to another location, renaming, going to target, by-passing recycle bin and can't remember what else to no avail.
I have scanned with Avira, MalwareBytes, Bleeping-computer, SpyBot, and superAntiSpyware. No Nasty`s found yet. Maybe not to worry about, But sure would like it gone.

View 3 RepliesThis is probably the worst operating system Microsoft has ever developed, Even worse than the Millennium, which was pretty bad. Somehow windows 10 installed it's self and I decided to try it....Then before the 30 days were up I wanted to uninstall. Guess what you only have 28 days. So when I tried to uninstall it my fences and desktop icons disappeared as well as my office software and other things. What a mess. When I tried to use shadow to reinstall the deleted programs, icons etc. They would not reinstall due to windows 10 deleting part of the programs. There is also a pop up screed on the windows that keeps popping up and you can't get rid of it. Well you know I am MAD! Not only that the AMD driver is also not working and HP says that it has not a fix for this yet.
View 5 RepliesMy computer crashed and when it rebooted, it required me to login with my Microsoft account. Now, this computer has had a local account since I got it 5 or 6 years ago. I have never used the Microsoft account on this computer.
Trying to switch back to the local user using guides on this site, that local account apparently doesn't exist anymore.
I'm obviously concerned that it deleted an account on its own. How do I get the account back? Creating a new one is easy enough, but are there any permission issues? I have enough of those between Windows 10, and the previous 7 installation.

I was trying to set it so that all my documents, pictures etc would be stored on my HD and somehow (God knows how) managed to just create multiple copies of my HD (G: drive) in 'My PC' which can neither be rename nor deleted, completely failing to get my documents where I wanted. I've been trying for ages to get rid of them but so far all I've managed to do is accidentally change their name from 'G:' to 'Downloads'. as can be seen from this screenshot.

Messages in my Inbox are automatically getting moved and deleted, without me doing anything.
I access my email on line at netmail.verizon.net
While I am in email, looking at my inbox. I often will get a sort of pop up message. A kind of "moving cursor" appears as a pop up or overlay. It says "moving messages."
There is no option to stop or cancel this.
Sometimes the messages are being moved to my Trash folder. Other times, I can't figure out what has happened to them. They seem to disappear.
I called tech support at my email provider, Verizon. The tech support person checked everything and could not figure it out. The problem does not have anything to do with filters.
She said something in my computer -- some kind of bug-- perhaps something I downloaded, perhaps some program or app, is interfering with my email and causing this to happen. She says the problem is not one at Verizon's end and that they can’t fix it.
I am using Windows 10 and Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013.
I usually access the Internet via Mozilla Firefox.
I had hardware problem, and an "expert" fixing it, but in the process he deleted some very, very important apps and files. Is there any way to recover those deleted programs and their contents?
