Oct 13, 2015After surviving the blue loop of death, I am now stuck in permanent Hibernation mode. This is even after a hard reboot.

Aug 23, 2015I recently received the Windows 10 download on a desktop PC. The installation seemed to be going swimmingly however desktop suddenly powered off. Upon reboot, I'm stuck in a vicious failure loop. I tried to restore to no avail and tried to boot Windows 7 from a physical disk, but no matter what I try it appears my desktop PC is history. It ran Windows 7 just fine. I really wish I hadn't pushed my luck with Windows 10.

Dec 18, 2015So I was trying to restart my Windows 10 desktop computer a little while ago, and accidentally hit Sleep Mode instead. My monitor is dormant, and there are no lights on the front of the computer. I moved the mouse around. Nothing. Pressed a mouse button, still nothing. Hit various keyboard keys, still nothing. Alt-F4 a few times followed by an Enter. Nope. Ctrl-Alt-Del a couple of times. Nada. Hit the power button. Zip. Held down the power button for four seconds, PC shuts off! Pressed power button again, the computer started to power up, but no graphics, no POST beep. Hit restart button, heard fans power back up, but that's all. Shut it off on the power supply, waited 30 seconds, switched back on. Nothing, no fans. Apparently it is off. Pressed the power button, I hear the fans spin up, then it sounds like it shuts down, then they spin back up. Hold power button down for four seconds to shut it off, then unplug power cord from back of PC for 30 seconds. Plug it back in, press power button, and fans spin up, then it sounds like PC goes into sleep mode for a second or two, then fans power back up. Still no lights on front of computer.
I have been a PC tech in the past, so I know my way around a computer. I've tried everything I can think of, save trying to reinstall Windows 7, dancing over the danged thing while singing Bibbidy Bobbidy Boo, or tossing it out the window. This is an older PC, built by me in late 2008. I need a new one badly, but can't afford it right now. I MUST get this one back online!

Desktop Icons Stuck On Left Side And Explorer View Stuck On Details
Sep 28, 2015All my desktop icons are stuck on the left side of the desktopAll file explorer view are stuck in details view. Now yes, I have turned off Auto-arrange, still refreshes to all icons on left. I have tired ALL sorts combinations of view + sort by... nothing. I have tired many anti-malware/virus scans and nothing has come up. I have tired CCleaner pretty much everything and the problem persists.
Of note, I had done a system restore a week and half ago to a specific point and that fixed the problem but for just a day, then it happened again. When I got around to having time to go for another system restore, that restore point was gone and now no other restore point is fixing the issue -_-That left me to think it might be something I installed or perhaps a windows update... but after having uninstalled pretty much everything I could that I installed in the last week as well as removing recent updates.... nothing. I have also tried making a new windows account (local)... nothing. Also tried in safe mode, still nothing.
After First Reboot Screen Stuck When Upgraded
Jul 30, 2015I upgraded to win 10 today from 7. After rebooting my screen now shows windows wallpaper (one of their scenic view wallpaper) as I had a custom picture and it displays the date and time in the left corner. See attached picture. I have no cursor and the keyboard doesn't work. The keyboard and mouse light up like their connected properly but they don't work. Ctrl Alt Del does not work.
I've plugged them into other USB ports but I get the same result. I've booted into bios and the mouse and the keyboard work there. I've rebooted dozens of times to the same result. I also downloading the media creation tool to a USB drive and tried booting from that and repairing the OS but no result...
Installation :: Update Stuck Around 60% And Reboot
Aug 30, 2015I've been trying to update my windows 8.1 to Windows 10 for at least 10 times now and it always stuck at around 60% It reboots itself a few times and it always comes back to the circle screen with the % progress but getting around 60% it reboots and it gets stuck there... black screen, no cursor, no sound.
I've tried to plug it into a secondary screen thru hdmi but nothings happens; also I've uninstalled my antivirus since I've read it might be the problem but it didn't work..

Nov 12, 2015So after having numerous issues with my ASUS VivoTab Smart upgrading to Windows 10 (Sound issues, display driver issues, losing my Recovery Drive, etc) I finally got everything fixed and my tablet was finally running as wonderfully as it did on Windows 8.1..... For about a week.
And then this latest build for W10 comes out. I downloaded it and then attempted to install it
The system restarts to do the update with the circular progress bar but then gets stuck at 40%. I have had this problem on three different PC's in the past and all I did was power them off, boot up again, and then it would finish off the update with no further issues.
But that didn't happen this time. I powered off my Tablet and then started it up again. Instead of carrying on, W10 decides to cancel the whole update and roll me back to am earlier version of W10.
I thought I would try again and this time wait longer. Maybe I was impatient. Went through the process again, rebooted, started the update install and then stuck at 40% yet again. I figured I would just plug my tablet in and leave it while I slept surly it would finish by the time I woke up. Nope it was still at 40%
Powered it down because I couldn't do anything else, but it decided to roll back again. What's worse is that it seemed to have rolled back to a version of W10 prior to when I got everything fixed mentioned above. So now not only am I stuck with a dud upgrade that keeps trying to install after a period of time, but I have to fix all my previous issues again. How to resolve this update freeze?

Jul 29, 2015I installed Windows 10 fairly quickly on my laptop, and firlgured it'd be just as painfree to do so on my desktop, but the install was stuck at 'Copying files - 48%' for hours. I figured that since it was just copying files, I would just restart the PC and start over, but now my PC does not want to output video. On startup, I don't even see the normal BIOS screen, and there is only HD activity for about a second after I power the PC back on.

Aug 1, 2015I upgraded to windows 10 from 8.1 through Microsoft's updater. I used Windows 10 for web browsing and then after my use, I shut the computer down. After my first reboot, OS crashed several times and sent me to the recovery page.
Steps I took:
1. Reset system (keep files)
-> Failed
2. Restore
-> Failed
System reboots with a black screen and a mouse pointer. Few minutes later, I see a blue screen with a circular loading animation icon. I gave it few hours before force shutdown (I also left the system running overnight. No progress). Every single recovery option did not work, and I could not find any solutions online.
What I do have:
Linux Mint (as dual boot).
Can access Windows 10 drive from Mint.
It seems like the only solution I see is to clean install Windows 10 after backing up my files.

Mar 10, 2016Laptop does not wake up from sleep when either power button, keyboard buttons or mouse touchpad are pressed. A forced reboot is always required. HDD light off, monitor stays black and battery light and fan still on.
Have had this problem for over a week since downloading and using Advanced SystemCare and Driver Booster. Once the problem occured I uninstalled them but nothing changed. Also there was a few recent windows updates at beginning of March but haven't read anywhere that they are causing similar problems. Have tried the obvious fixes but nothing seems to work.

Mar 27, 2015During startup automatic repair launches, restart ensues, that's the loop. The error mssg is WDF violation which it seems is related to iTunes. I just can't get out of this loop to do anything about it. I don't have a boot disc. Safe mode is what I would like, but that doesn't work.

Dec 11, 2015I recently set up 3 computers for my family, doing clean installs of Win10 for all. On two of the computers youtube is set to restricted mode all the time and can't be changed. The third computer has restricted mode set to off.
Many people have this problem, and in every single troubleshooting thread I've seen the problem is supposedly with Microsoft's family safety feature. All three of my computers are signed into my one MS account. Under the family safety tab there are no other "child" or "adult" users listed.
How is it that one computer can work properly, but the other two have youtube stuck on restricted mode?
Deleting Files Off Desktop And / Or Out Of Download Folder During Reboot?
Jan 18, 2016Okay I just upgraded to Windows 10 this morning and I had all of my downloaded files from other websites all in the desktop under a folder called software after the upgrade it opened up Windows 10 and ran me through the tutorial, and had me reboot after I change some settings. when it rebooted it took about 20 minutes said something about some new features and "we want to show you new features" and others some other junk.
Finally when I did pull the explorer back up the only thing that was there was the recycle bin, my computer, and the downloads folder which was empty I went through every inch of my hard drive I even went over it with undelete Pro and still no traces of my files they were archive files and setup files for software. when I finally did find a trace of one of my old folders, the only thing that would it would tell me was that it was unavailable and that it must've been moved or deleted I took a picture of the error message and can't find answers anywhere..
Stuck In Diagnostic Startup And Need To Get To Safe Mode?
Sep 19, 2015In the diagnostic startup mode there's no search so I can't run msconfig. Is there another way to do run this? I got to where I'm at now by running msconfig, staying on the general tab (not the boot), unchecking normal startup, then checking diagnostic. No matter what I've tried (including combing this forum and searching online) I still can't get out of diagnostic startup. There are other things going on with my PC, such as at least one virus, the Trojan Zeus Banker. I'd like to try a couple of more things before I put my PC in the shop and probably pay mucho dinero.

Aren't the modern tile apps that you can launch straight from the start menu in desktop mode, exactly the same as the ones in tablet mode? Apart from the apps being full screen.
If so, I'm thinking I may as well just stay in desktop mode and launch the apps from the start menu in desktop mode?
Forgot Password And Stuck In Safe Mode Startup
Dec 10, 2015After an update to Windows 10 I started getting "invalid register key" errors with every open. I restored a previous registry value prior to the last update and still go the error. Instructed to boot up in safe mode but as I logon using my microsoft account, safe mode does not open wifi connection and the password cannot be verified. At least I think that is what is happening as I reset my microsoft account password using another computer and it is still refusing the password on the windows 10 machine.Is there anyway around the password request and get the computer to boot up in regular mode?
