Jul 29, 2015Is there a Group Policy option (or something easier) that can disable 'Diagnostic and usage data' (in Privacy>Feedback & diagnostics section) as the lowest setting from the menu is Basic?

View 2 RepliesFew weeks ago I have upgraded to Windows 10 TH2. After some time I have noticed that Windows Feedback app went missing, and I can't find a way to install it back. I tried searching for it at the store, it's not there.
I have tried Powershell command where it re-installs all other Windows 10 apps, however that only makes things worse - it deletes some other apps like Windows Store, and won't install them back anymore, giving me bunch of red error lines. I had to run a restore backup once, just to restore most of the apps. I did it successfully but Windows Feedback App is still missing.
Is it supposed to be like that or what? Because on my main home PC, I did the upgrade too, and and the app is there, all fine, but not on the laptop. Is there a manual way to install this one app somehow?
The problem comes about after using the online feedback form that comes with Windows 10. The feedback form requires that the user log in before posting. However it does not appear to give the user the option to log out again. For some unknown reason, whenever I have used the feedback app then shut down the computer and rebooted, Windows boots to the calendar screen. When I click on that screen it changes to the dark blue password login screen and asks me for my password. I have never had a password!
I was so thrown by this last time it happened that I did not consider that it was asking me for my online Microsoft password. But this is exactly what it wants. This time I typed in my online Microsoft password and hey presto it continued to boot to Windows. The problem is I am now stuck in an infinite loop of having to click on a calendar screen and enter the password every time I boot up.
It seems that Windows 10 is somehow confusing my online password with an offline password and is expecting the online password to be entered offline in order to log in.
Any way to log out of Microsoft feedback app permanently? I tried going online and logging in and out of the Microsoft webpage, but this did not solve the problem. I do not want a password to log in. I just want Windows to boot to the main screen as it did before.
I sent a feedback without adding enough details to make the feedback look useful, can I?
View 2 RepliesI activated the ctrl alt disable login screen for Windows 10 by using this registry key from this forum.(Lock Screen - Enable or Disable in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums).
I downloaded and installed the key to disable only to find it didn't work so I tried to manually do it by changing the number from 0 to 1 only to find its already at 1.
I also tried going the user passwords2 to find the box to disable ctrl alt disable login is already ticked, but is greyed out meaning I can't untick the box.
Every time I start up or wake up my laptop it asks me to enter my pin number, my husband also has a dell laptop running windows 10 but his does not need any pin to enable using it, how can I disable requirement for pin.
View 2 RepliesI just replace my old keyboard. The problem with the new keyboard is I need to press the FN button + the function key (like volume up and down) before the function key will work. On my old keyboard the functions could be performed by only pressing the function key. There was no need to also press FN.
Is there a way to disable the FN key so I can go back to one button function key operations?
I am trying to disable OneDrive & every time I type in "gpedit.msc" I get a message that Windows can't find it. Surely there has to be a way to disable it isn't there.

View 9 RepliesI just upgraded to Windows 10 from 8.1 and I am disappointed to see that some of my programs are now blurry. I had encountered this problem before when I installed Windows 8.1, but somehow I was able to fix it.
I can remove the blurriness from individual programs by manually disabling dpi scaling on each program, but I would like to do this system wide.
When I try to edit the display settings through the control panel, the changes I make result in everything on the screen being too small for me to read. I can't seem to get everything right how it was when I was running Windows 8.1.
I recently bought a convertible laptop-tablet. I noticed that there are some gestures implemented in W10. I want to disable one of the, when you swipe from the left in the screen and the task view comes up.

View 2 RepliesI am just going to say up front that I don't have the Pro version of Windows 10 so I have no Group Policy Editor otherwise I would have fixed this problem in less than a minute instead of wasting over a hour trying to fix this.
I want to disable this on the screenshot for any future files I download. I searched online but every post says I have to use gpedit.msc which I don't have. I am getting very frustrated. I don't want to mess around in the registry. Some one just link a .reg file to disable this annoyance so I can just import it and be done.
I seem to get these green pixels whenever I watch youtube videos (using firefox). Did some searches and a lot of people says to disable hardware acceleration, not sure if this is the case but figured I try it. Most tutorial on how to do this is either windows 7 or 8 and I can't seem to find how to do this for windows 10.
View 8 RepliesThis issue has plagued me since I've transitioned to Windows 8 and up. The Lock Screen feature (primarily ctrl + w) gets in the way of using certain programs. I've tried a few methods, all of which either don't work or stopped working.
Registry Editor
Local Group Policy Editor
And Winaero Tweaker
Is there any other way to disable this feature? It's the only problem I have with this OS. As I've said before, one of the methods worked fine but I feel that an update might have nullified my changes.
i don't want to use to built-in windows key hotkeys such as win+D, win+S etc. how can i modify them or disable them altogether?
