I am using Windows 10 on my Lenovo computer. Yesterday I noticed that one of my very important folder with several subfolders (approximately 14) have disappeared form my Mozilla Thunderbird account. I can not find it in thrash or under deleted folder. I have changed the hidden files settings in my control panel app but I still missing my folder(s).
I have used Windows 8 for a while and I recently updated it to Windows 10. After installing Windows 10, I downloaded a lot of files as well as played a lot of games without logging in to my Microsoft account. I only recently logged into my Microsoft account and after I restarted my PC after updating Windows 10, all files in my documents folder disappeared. All save game files, all downloads - everything completely disappeared. I tried using the Search option and I couldn't find any files from that time.
I have a folder that I keep on my C: drive that has my game shortcuts, whole games, and a few videos. I was going to move it to the desktop since I use it so much, but it took way too long so I just canceled the move. Now when I go to look at my C: drive to open the folder its gone and I cannot find it by searching windows..I upgraded to win 10 and if doing a restore will fix this I will just not a restore that wipes the pc... just a restore that takes it back in time. I was trying to find a restore option but it sounds like it will wipe my pc and I do not want that as I just wiped it weeks ago and dont need to again.
"Outlook Express" which has been my email program since Windows XP and up to Windows 8.1 disappeared when I uploaded Windows 10. This included all my saved emails and all my contacts. The replacement email program, which I assume is from Windows 10, is as useful as a eunuch.
My old "Outlook Express" is hiding somewhere on my computer or do I have to accept that it is gone? If it is still in my computer how do I bring it to the forefront? I should note that I am not particularly computer literate.
I cannot send emails from my laptop either with windows live mail or thunderbird all setting have been checked and rechecked I can send emails if I use the build in mail app and my outlook account I can also send emails via webmail it's just as if something is blocking outgoing mail ! Each time I try I just find the email sitting in the outbox and a error message saying unable to send or in the case of thunder bird just get the green line showing progress and it just sits there.
Daily is the name given to the new replacement for Mozilla Thunderbird. It often has daily updates, and the one today (08 Jan 2016) causes it to lose all email settings. As a result, when it start is shows no existing email, no email account, and looks like you are starting with a fresh install of a new email client.
To get around this I downloaded and installed the latest version of Thunderbird (38.5.1) and this did show all my email OK. So something bad happened to Daily - hopefully whoever it is who controls that software will fix it tomorrow.
I just did a "reset" of Windows 10 on a previously owned PC that was given to me. It seems to have worked fairly well at cleaning up and re-installing windows 10. The first thing I did was download and install Mozilla firefox 42.0 web browser because that's the browser I'm most familiar with using. I also switch my Windows settings to "high contrast" because I have vision problems. Everything seems to work fine except in the firefox browser when I go to certain web-pages the graphics on some web-pages aren't rendering at all, and all I get are large blank spaces where there should be graphics instead.
Somehow I managed to have Firefox start at system login and now I don't want it to do so.I've checked Task Manager and it isn't there.I've checked usersappDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsStartMenuProgramsStartup and it isn't there.
losing all their bookmarks and their password database when they restarted Firefox after the update from Windows 7 (or any other version) -> Windows 10??
Yes, did create system image but did not preserve C:users (-> U:) *. Even the old folder no longer had my bookmarks, and moving the old passwd and master key file did not allow Moz to figure it out.**
* I don't want users on my SSD drive -- I add/delete stuff WAYYY too often, so it sits on a spinny drive and is connected via a junction point.
** electronic god(desse)s for even a 7-month-old backup, so I didn't lose that much in terms of moz config.
I recently upgraded to Windows10, and now my system freezes frequently. It mainly happens when I am using Mozilla Firefox, but also at other times. Each time I have to do a hard shutdown. What can I try?
I have been trying yahoo mail in google chrome, mozilla and edge. Chrome and mozilla can't compose emails or reply to any mail in yahoo mail ,Tried clearing cache for mozilla and just installed chrome and this started right away. Edge, has a delay when typing messages, other then the delay in edge, all else works, although I have not tried to send any attachments at all.
After launching Mozilla hard disk activity seems to be permanently on, as if Mozilla where reindexing or something. It takes a long time (10-20 minutes) to stop and it makes browsing a very jerking experience. Of course I did a clean install to rule out some corrupted installation but no dice.
Launching Resource Monitor shows that all disk activity is being done by Mozilla FF and Windows Defender (Firefox being the first candidate).
I can see where one can choose which email client to use as the default in the system settings, but Thunderbird is not listed in the available options.
Unable to delete a folder on an external USB HDD. Tried with take ownership. Tried Takedown, and some options on

Have combined all screenshots into 1 PDF - else the post would be way too big. never uploaded a PDF before.
My 'documents' folder suddenly got moved into another folder named 'Doctor Web.' Looking into this, I find that Doctor Web is a piece of security software originating in Russia, apparently quite respectable, but it's not something I ever installed. According to its properties, the Doctor Web folder was created in 2014, but it wasn't on my computer two days ago when a backup I ran had no errors. Today, it choked on the new folder. I'm attaching a screen grab to illustrate the situation.
My question is, is there some method by which I can move the 'documents' folder from the 'Doctor Web' folder. put it back where it belongs and delete the 'Doctor Web' folder? I have access to all my documents, but I am not at all happy with them being spontaneously moved like this. Al

I have a Toshiba Satellite and I'm running windows 10. I've tried pressing F5 and FN+F5 but nothing happens. I've had a look on various forums and all the advice seems to start with "go here", "go to this menu" etc but how to go anywhere without a mouse.
Edge just disappeared this morning on my husbands laptop. I have the same one and mine is still there. I tried resetting it by deleting the folder in packages and when I tried to reset, I got this error message. I attached the thumbnail. I checked his updates and nothing was installed overnight. He loves the browser and I couldn't find anywhere to go redownload it.
I have this habit of writing down quick notes on my desktop on an empty folder kind of to use as a sticky note. I noticed all my folders got deleted somehow this morning.how I can recover the folders and why they disappeared all of a sudden?
I have a weird problem, I downloaded the Windows 10 ISO using the Media Creation Tool and now for some reason, the Get Windows 10 icon in the taskbar disappeared so I'm not able to get any alerts when it's ready to install.
