Alright, I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro shortly after it released. By upgraded, I mean performed a clean install.
More or less, the computer has worked fine for the weeks since. Now, for the past 2 days, I have been unable to use it because at startup the computer's keyboard and mouse turn off, and the screen displays broken lines of pixelated green, pink, and blue. (To be clear, I make it into and/or past the BiOS totally fine)
I don't have many support options due to the fact this PC was put together by me. So, to that end, my specs are:
MSI Z87-G45 mobo
Intel i7-4770k (no overclocking at present)
NVIDIA GTX 760
Samsung EVO 120GB SSD (have reinstalled Windows 10 solely on this, still producing the same errors)
[Random Thermaltake something something] 750W gold-rated PSU
Corsair h100 series liquid cooling
As I said, everything had been working fine. Then I put the computer to sleep, and when I returned the next day, the screen flashed white fuzziness. On restarting from that, the colored lines are all that happens. I am able to boot into safe mode. That is another weird thing, the colored lines (and keyboard/mouse power off) don't happen until after I go through the bios screen, and see the initial Windows 10 loading screen, then they shut off, and the screen turns to the lines within 20 seconds after.
I'm pretty lost. I'm assuming since I can force it into safe mode (at that split second when I have the windows 10 load screen), the problem is lying with hardware. I have confirmed all wiring is correct, dust is clear, and everything looks/sounds as it should. The only thing that was happening before this was that I would get intermittent "Nvidia kernal has stopped working, but has recovered" notifications popping up. As I type this I'm sort of realizing my graphics card must be done.
Starting today, every once in a while my computer will shut down and show the new blue screen of death, which shows the sad face and it says how it is collecting information. However the image is always at 100%, doesnt fill my entire screen, and is pixelated. Honestly it just looks like a picture ripped off google. Which makes me think it is a virus.
View 1 RepliesI produce a LIVE STREAM video show online every Saturday via youtube and google hangout. I am using the windows 10 operating system. Here lately every show that I do, once it is finished and I go to watch it, my program plays back....choppy and pixelated. My viewers are watching it LIVE and they tell me that it is doing the same thing LIVE, it is coming across extremely distorted. I have checked my internet speed with my ISP. They actually came out to my place and said there is nothing wrong with my internet upload or download speed. I have 40 mbps down, and 5 mbps up. So I am not sure what else to check.
View 2 RepliesI just installed the official release of Windows 10 on five PCs.
On two of the five PCs, even though I have both the Screen Saver and Screen Timeout set to "Never", Windows 10 blanks the monitor after 1 minute of inactivity.
I've checked every setting I can think of and even the Nvidia Control Panel, but nothing seems to prevent the timeout event.
Just this morning, many of my apps are taking exactly 30 seconds to load. They sit at their splash screens for 30 seconds, and then load and play fine. No updates on the store, and nothing from Windows Update. Running S3 on TH2 build of W10.

Now that the new upgrades have been installed, I have to log on every time my screen times out. Before the upgrades, if I walked away and came back, moving the mouse or touching a key would bring back the desktop. How can I get back to that status? (By the way, the automatic upgrade hiccuped at 75% and locked the computer so it couldn't be turned on without holding the power key down for over 5 seconds--very inconvenient as I had to go to Geek Squad to get it back since I didn't think of that).
View 1 RepliesI upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 home last week. However, today, while I was playing with my PS4, my PC randomly got 2 BSOD with in 3 minutes time frame. I was not using my PC. It was turned on, idling. After the first BSOD, the PC restarted and within 3 min another BSOD.I ran Memtest and Prime95, and played GTA 5 without any failures.

If you press Volume UP + Volume DOWN 3 times, the screen of your device will flash in black.
If done In the phone, it will vibrate 3 times before the flashing;
If done in PC, the opened windows will be rearranged to completely appear in the screen, just like when you change resolution. The mouse pointer will also be centered.

For PC, it can bring back windows or dialogs that might be placed out of the screen.
For phone, I didn't find something useful for that yet.
Got W10, rebooted several times during the process. W10 takes an average 30-35 seconds longer than W8.1 to boot up, and then proceeds to roast my CPU for about 1/2 hr before it settles down, for about 2 mins, then starts roasting it again. During this time, my RAM shoots up to 80% usage.
Again, I rebooted plenty of times, I feared for my high end HP laptop, so I rolled back to W8.1. I will have to wait until MS has its crap together on this one.
Yesterday I installed Windows 10 and it worked perfect. But i ouccured or how it spells a problem with the wifi on win 10, I can use it normally then just like that it disconnects then like 2 secs or when I click the wifi thing down there it connects again, then why I try do some after 1-2 mins it starts disconnects 3 secs later connects....
View 1 RepliesMultiple times today my PC has displayed an all white screen but the mouse cursor is visible. The first time I noticed this was after an idle period (more than an hour) I rebooted the PC but the white screen returned, I rebooted again and it was gone but the PC took longer than normal to load windows. The PC then ran for several hours in a "normal" state (I didn't notice any issues but I'm a novice) however after an idle period (more than 30 minutes) the white screen returned. Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete brought the desktop back up (I did not attempt this the first time) and the computer once again appears to be running fine.
I ran my Norton antivirus and Malwarebytes full scans in regular mode and the MBAM scan displayed several PUPs from "mindspark" which have been removed.
I've experienced multiple BSOD's in a while now. It occurs several times every day. I thought it was an issue with my graphics card, since it often occured using Adobe Illustrator and other GPU needing applications. Today I replaced my graphics card and I got a BSOD a few minutes later.
I've attached the BSOD file.

Have had home builds for years with no big issues before windows 8.1 and now windows 10. I thought i had issues with memory or graphic card on my previous computer so i ended up buying new parts for a new build.
But nothing changed. Not so frequent as before but up to several times a day my computers gets an BSOD. I must say it is random for me what i am doing while this happens.
Different messages before restarting. The 2 last one while trying to create this thread and making the dump zip file was Kernel check failure and DPC watchdog violation.

First off my windows 10 install worked fine for about a month and then all of a sudden I have been experiencing 2 to 3 ramdom crashes and reboots. There is no BSOD, the computer just simply turns off and reboots, even though I have set the advanced settings not to automatically shut down on error. I have also updated to the latest BIOS ....
My system - self build.
Asus X99 Deluxe motherboard
4 sticks of Corsiar dominator RAM running at 2133 (they are specified up to 2666)
default BIOS settings - no overclocking
2*EVGA Geforce 980s in SLI
I have disconnected all usb devices but this is still happening. What is strange that it just started out of the blue. Before i just do a fresh install, any diagnostic approaches?
As you could see the file which cause the bug is not very current (appid.sys), so i think it's not the real culprit... Of course i've tested memory, ssd, virus, before post here. I've also bought who crashed pro for analyse the dump and installed windbg but for the first, no essential information and for the second i don't have all knowledge for exploiting this tool throughly... View 3 RepliesI have to boot 2 times to get my computer started. This started when I upgraded to Windows 10.
View 1 RepliesLong story short, my hard drive is fried and I have to purchase a new hard drive. I understand that the OEM version is locked to one PC, but would I be able to use it on the same PC with a new hard drive?
View 1 RepliesI need to get around the windows automatic update for my Lenovo T440s laptop. the update shows as failed several times in windows update. I never make it to any download screen. I am upgrading from 8.1 pro and all updates are installed.
View 1 RepliesIs the message that Im getting. From my experience, this message displays when you upgrade to Windows 10, but I have already upgraded a few months back. I turned on my computer and I get this updating screen.
View 1 RepliesOkay so i have download threw windows installer, it gets to about 60% on the install (its in the installer not windows update)and gives me an error message (i have not been quick enough to catch it yet) and then reverts right back to windows 8.1. Then MAKES ME re download windows 10 AGAIN!! I am going to try to catch the error the next time, but crashing during install and then reverting back to 8.1 just to redownload it.
Also according to windows update it has failed to install 16 times!!!
Boot time for windows 10 seems much slower when connected to the Internet.
View 3 RepliesStart don't work, and Computer is 5 times slower. We used, sfc/scannow a bunch of times with a restate each time but didn't work at all. We were thinking about uninstalling windows 10 back to Windows 7. The computer ran windows 10 for about 2 weeks just fine and then this happened.
View 1 Replies17 to be exact so far today. I have cleared the software dist. folder numerous times...ran wuauclt.exe/updatenow and everytime it fails.
View 2 RepliesI recently managed to get a cryptowall/cryptolocker virus. I wiped everything, formatted c: and reinstalled windows 7 home premium. Was getting constant, seemingly random BSODs 10+ times daily. Tried a bunch of things, didn't work, so recently upgraded to windows 10. The BSOD's are a lot rarer but still occur at annoying times.
I've had the PC for nearly 3 years now. Prior to the reinstalls there was never 1 BSOD and the machine would stay stable for weeks on end without a restart or issue.
