View 4 RepliesI'm experiencing very strange behaviour with documents that are stored on OneDrive, with the changes made either online or on my Windows Phone not reflecting in Excel (haven't tried Word yet) on my Surface Pro 3 running Windows 10. The date modified date and time for the document in the OneDrive desktop folder shows the correct information so it has synced, but when you open the document the last version that was opened in Excel on the desktop shows. This makes me think it is some sort of cache issue, especially as if I delete the document from the OneDrive folder in Windows 10 it instantly re-appears up to date.
It only appears to be an issue with Excel documents. I've just tested with a Word document that I originally created on my Surface, modified on Word online and the changes came through fine when I re-opened the document on the desktop.
I recently purchased a new Dell laptop with Windows 10. I understand that Windows 10 defaults savings documents to the Documents folder on OneDrive. Every time I download documents, they get saved to OneDrive > Documents; whereas, I want them to save to the local Documents folder. I found an article that discussed how to change this by setting the Set Save Location to my local Documents folder. I did that, but Windows is not recognizing the change. Documents still get saved to OneDrive > Documents.how to fix this?
View 5 RepliesAfter I upgraded to Windows 10 I am unable to click on any link in Outlook 2003. I get a popup that says "Locate link browser". I searched for a solution and read that I needed to associate it with IExplore.exe. After doing that, now whenever I click a link it opens IExplore to my home page. How I can resolve this error and get it to go to the URL rather than just opening IExplore?
Instructions I found were these but don't seem to apply to Windows 10:
On the desktop, double-click My Computer. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the File Types tab.In the Registered File Types list, click URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol, click Advanced, and then click Edit.In the Actions box, type open.In the Application used to perform action box, locate Internet Explorer (Iexplore.exe), and then click Open.In the Application box, type IExplore, and then click OK.
I recently got a new computer (HP Envy 750) that came with Windows 10H. With an external drive, I had backed up stuff from my browser, email client and documents that was on a crashed windows 10 that had updated windows 7, and then transferred to the new computer. I am finding the present filing system pathways to be confusing in that stuff I save to Documents appears in two places under different pathways.
I'd like to either correct this or understand what is happening, and if possible, just have one pathway to deal with. Here's an example: When searching for a file that has been saved to Documents, it has two pathways. One pathway is "This PC>Documents>the file" and the other pathway is "This PC>Windows(C>Users>adam9>Documents>the file." I an used to just one pathway.

View 1 RepliesI've had no response to my previous query. But must ask this again as it is very annoying. I have a radio site on my desktop that I listen to. Now when I want to go to another URL address that particular link will not open up. I. E. I want to open [URL]. The only way I can access it (while my radio link is on) is to exit my radio link then click on the URL link for Ancestry.com. It is not the only link that will not work while I already have one other open, all other links will not open also.

View 2 RepliesI regularly print pages from a website, & with IE I was able to re-size the document to 95%, 85% etc to use less paper. I can't do this with Microsoft Edge-it doesn't give me any options to re-size the document for printing? Is there an option I am missing?
View 1 RepliesMy documents used to show under MY PC in pane to left and was easy for me to save to. Suddenly, Documents folder has some but not all but does have a subfolder also called Documents that contains all. When I do anything in that folder, several document folders appear under MY PC all with green checks by them.. I also lost my RoboForm. Maybe connected to this problem?

I have a 1 TB SSD HDD with only my OS, Programs and Games on it, with another 1 TB (Mechanical) HDD installed for my Data (Documents, Pics, etc.). I did the upgrade option (not a clean install) and for some reason now, I can't save any documents to my DOCUMENTS folder without getting an error message:
You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission. Would you like to save in the Documents folder instead?
If I choose YES OR NO, nothing happens. I can only save it to my desktop.
I normally do a Clean install, but wanted to get my Serial by doing the upgrade first, so when I install it, I have my Activation Code that is legit. I also noticed, Windows 10 turned of my Ethernet Devices on it's own...but that's for another post!
I cannot open an office document straight away like I could do in Windows 7. Is there any setting I am not aware of that need to be changed. Previously I would just double click and the document would open. Now I have to search for it when I try to open in the first instance.
View 3 RepliesI have pinned explorer to my taskbar. I have added links to my explorer icon on the taskbar. (Such as Z:Games and Z:Movies)
But when I right-click the explorer icon, then left-click the link nothing happens. I can hear that my hdd starts working. (It does that stereotypical hdd-noise.) But nothing happens.
I have three grumbles. One, why is the Favorites panel on the right side? What benefit did that create? How to move it to the Left? Can't be done?
Two: My favorites are not alpha sorted by me. On my IE browser, they were arranged and listed by frequency of use, and importance in my work. Edge default sorts them alpha anyway. Can I Stop this unwanted sort feature?
Three, I like my favorites panel to come up with the browser, and not want to click on another icon to show it.
Brought a new Lenova laptop for Christmas and I am finding things are quite different from my previous Win 7 software. I have been able to find my way around so far, but cannot figure this one out. I can open documents as usual, change name of new folder, but cannot type in the body of the document area. I have tried several times with no luck.
View 9 RepliesMy Computer came with Word 2013 installed on it and I have been looking for a way to scan a Document or Article directly into the Word 2013 program but I can't find a way to do it. In Word 2010 you could Customize and make a Keyboard Shortcut by selecting InsertImagerScan. In Word 2010 I made this shortcut by using the CTRL+8 keys and I could scan directly into Word 10 by using that key combination. I tried to set up the same Keyboard Shortcut option in Word 2013 - The InsertImagerScan is available in Word 2013 but I can't get it to work. How to Scan Directly Into Word 2013?

I now have several docs that I want to delete but i cannot do so. When I look this up on the internet I am told to delete them as I would any other doc. but I can't do this because I can only delete docs that are on my desktop and I can delete by clicking the right hand button and get a sub-menu with delete on it.
The LO docs only appear in LO and clicking the RH button does not produce a menu with delete on it.

View 1 RepliesI want to add shortcut link of one of the folder location to "Quick Access" in Windows 10 x64.
In the case of Windows 10 x86 I used to put my shortcut link in the folder "C:Usersuser_nameLinks" & it showed me shortcut in favorites at left side. Also it works using this command :
Code:
mklink /D %USERPROFILE%LinksMyFolder C:MyFolder
I want to do same thing for Windows 10 x64. So I try to use that command on Windows 10 x64 also I have tried to directly copy shortcut & pasted into the location of Quick Access.
But, still it's not showing in left panel of Quick Access.
So, how to do that on Windows 10 x64 ? (or perhaps through Registry) ?.
My newly installed Windows 10, on rebooting , displays this warning (as translated from Spanish):
" The ordinal 1 cannot be found in the library of dynamic links C:WINDOWS32SQLUNIRL.dll "
Then I click to accept that, and apparently the OS performs O.K.
What is the import of that failure in loading and how to solve it?
