View 1 RepliesI have used Windows 8 for a while and I recently updated it to Windows 10. After installing Windows 10, I downloaded a lot of files as well as played a lot of games without logging in to my Microsoft account. I only recently logged into my Microsoft account and after I restarted my PC after updating Windows 10, all files in my documents folder disappeared. All save game files, all downloads - everything completely disappeared. I tried using the Search option and I couldn't find any files from that time.

View 1 RepliesSince I upgraded to Windows 10 I can't find my documents that were previously in this computer. How do I find them?
View 3 RepliesI was transferring all my photos on my phone to a folder on my desktop, named 'Photoa'. A couple of seconds after the last photo was copied over I watched the folder suddenly disappear from the desktop. I was not performing any action at the time.
A search of the computer has failed to find it, a check of the recycle bin turned up empty and I also attempted to use 'Recurva', which didn't find a single photo (about 400 or so were copied to the missing file).
The only clues are when I search for 'Photoa' on the computer, which gives:
A broken shortcut at "C:UsersDanielAppDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsRecentPhotoa"
A broken internet shortcut at "file:///D:/User%2520Data/Desktop/Photoa"
I'm not sure where to start, I am quite desperate to get the folder back as I cut/pasted my pictures - I do have a backup but this problem happened seconds after transferring!
Is there was way to set up Win 10 so I can find /view recent documents as was the case in Win 7?
View 2 RepliesI need to locate my old files.
View 1 RepliesA suggestion was to look in windows.old folder. That has nothing in the documents and pictures folders. How can I find these files?????
View 3 RepliesI originally upgraded to windows 10 and at first I couldn't find my documents or photos. I was then able to locate it under the windows.old file in which I dragged the photos and documents to file explorer. One thing I noticed was my personalization was not the same so I set up my background image, etc. THEN, a day later my computer restarted and had all of my previous settings before I did the upgrade and that's when I lost my photos and documents. I couldn't find it in windows.old, network, hard drive, owner, etc. So I decided to revert back to windows 7; again docs and pics not there. Finally, I upgraded back to windows 10 as I feel my files are gone for good. I did not delete anything so I don't understand why it is gone.
View 1 RepliesBefore installing windows 10 should I back up and or save my libraries, documents, pictures etc. and all the downloaded programs and files I currently use?
View 3 RepliesI reserved the update. The next time I clicked Windows update it showed Windows 10 as an update option. I decided to wait 1 day because I had other work that I needed to focus on for the next few hours. The update choice for Windows 10 has disappeared. I clicked the link to reserve a copy again but nothing has happened and 2 weeks have gone by. So how do I get back the upgrade invitation and appropriate links?
View 1 RepliesWhat's wrong with this PC when using Windows 10?This is happens when I'm fresh boot like Shut Down & turn on again/restart the PC.Documents, Picture, Music, & all of them! They keep revert back to without my name & access it to Full Control!I can't save my work, i can't open my VMWare, at least until I'm check the permission on C:Users(My name) & add my name 2 Full Control it. This step need 2 be repeated everytime i restart/turn on my laptop. But this won't happen on my big PC & my parents PC which both PC also running Windows 10 Pro same like my laptop...Saying 2 change the directory to another drive wouldn't be easy since this is "LAPTOP" & I only have 1 HDD & no other partition except C: i'm tired with this laptop & confuse Y this is only happen on my beloved laptop but on my PC it just normal & no need 2 do that complicated things just like this laptop start 2 make me stress.

View 7 RepliesSo, recently (after the November build release) I woke the next morning to find that my computer underwent a rather major update. After which, it seemed, my home network was thrown out of wack. I immediately rolled/reverted/recovered to previous build. But now everything is out of wack. Most of the time I have to restart my computer just so it'll communicate with my printer to start printing.
And restarting the computer is twice as long if it restarts at all. Most of the time It gets stuck in the "restart" progress animates (the rotating circles) and I have to press the restart button on the computer tower, with great regret and dread. Transferring files from one windows 10 device to another is a 50/50 hit or miss. I'm not literate when it comes to networking and was super happy how everything was.
But now, not only is my wifi home network out of wack, but my computer itself is wonky. I figure I might as well reinstall the newest build in hopes that it'll at least fix a fe of the problems. But anytime I check for updates, the newest build no longer shows up.
I am using Word 2013 on my laptop. Windows 8 was operating system. Recently upgraded to Windows 10. When I save Word documents now, they are saved as Wordpad documents. (.xml files) Wordpad does not recommend some of the Word formatting and alters the documents.
How do I correct this? I want the save as Word documents, as I did in the past.
I've trying out the new preview, 10240. Everything works fine except for the default documents folder (and the same for Images). As my screenshots reveal, by default the documents and images folder are the ones with OneDrive. (My system is in Spanish, but it seems self-explanatory, I believe)
After some examination, I located the "Storage" section in the new settings window and I see that the default folder for Documents is OneDrive. However, after I set to "This PC (Drive C)" it doesn't do anything, as as soon as I close the window, the option reverts back to OneDrive.
I actually like and use OneDrive, and I had no problems with it with Win8.1. So I don't want to disable it.
the go back button on edge doesn't seem to have the ability to, when you click and hold on it, see many of the previous pages, so you can go back more than one page per click.
View 5 RepliesWindows 10 can't find my USB hub (F4U017). Device manager shows driver SXUPTP.SYS has a problem and has blocked it. I can't find an upgrade.
View 3 RepliesI was running Windows 7 and upgraded to Windows 10. I lost no data or programs or pictures, etc. Windows 10 worked fine for about a month and then developed a "restart required" loop. After several attempts I tried the Recovery option, thinking it would take me back to a restore point as in Windows 7. Instead it took me back to Windows 7 and all data and programs (other than the Windows 7 default programs) are gone. How can I get back to either 7 with my data and programs or 10 with my data and programs?
View 1 RepliesI have a Toshiba Satellite and I'm running windows 10. I've tried pressing F5 and FN+F5 but nothing happens. I've had a look on various forums and all the advice seems to start with "go here", "go to this menu" etc but how to go anywhere without a mouse.
View 9 RepliesEdge just disappeared this morning on my husbands laptop. I have the same one and mine is still there. I tried resetting it by deleting the folder in packages and when I tried to reset, I got this error message. I attached the thumbnail. I checked his updates and nothing was installed overnight. He loves the browser and I couldn't find anywhere to go redownload it.
