I know how to set other folder than DOWNLOADS to be the default folder for downloading content from internet using Edge. However, I was wondering if that can be changed all the way so I get to choose download location every single time I download something, or can it be made to work as "save as"?
I download different stuff and I hate going into the downloads folder, and then moving files I want elsewhere..
I have a fresh install, dual booting with Windows 7 and I just notice that my default download location folder for Windows 10 is set to my download folder in Windows 7.
Im currently trying to install windows 10 onto my pc but my C drive is only left with 13gb of space. How do i change the download location to other drives?
When I first upgraded Windows 7 to Windows 10 all my Favorites imported into Microsoft Edge. At the time I didn't know that the Favorites for Microsoft Edge are stored in a different folder other than the Windows 7 folder of C:usersmikefavorites. I was told that they are stored in the folder C:UsersMikeAppDataLocalPackagesMicrosoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbweACMicrosoftEdgeUserDefaultFavorites but this is only true for the Favorites that imported during the original Windows 10 Update. Any Favorite that I delete from the Favorites list in Microsoft Edge doesn't get deleted from the Windows 10 Favorites Folder. In addition any new Favorites I create in Microsoft Edge do not show up in the Microsoft 10 Favorites Folder either. So where the heck are they?
I think I may have to re-install Windows 10, but do not want to lose all the shortcuts to my Favourites, along with the directory structure. Where are these files located, in order that I may back-up ?
So yesterday I upgraded my laptop to Windows 10 from windows 7. I had to update manually with a usb as for some reason Get Windows 10 app wasn't appearing.however for some reason Microsoft Edge refuses to download anything, it just stays there at 0.00bytes forever.I have fully updated my Windows and there are no new updates available.
Any type of download from any site while in Edge will not download. When I click on Download nothing happens. I'm having to open Chrome if I want to Download anything at all.
I can not download anything. when I click on anything that I want to download, it just sits there and nothing happens. no error no nothing. if I use Firefox, all is fine, no problems there.what to do?
I don't know if this is related or not, but if I move a file from Documents to the desktop or try to save a file to the desktop or to the folder downloads, I get an error telling me I can not do that and I need permission from the administrator, I am the administrator, I have the only account on this computer and it is an administrator account.
I'm trying to find the place to change the download folder of Microsoft edge, because it just goes treat to my downloads folder and I want it to be a folder on my desktop.
I upgraded to Windows 10 a month ago and now have the Microsoft Edge browser. Now every time I try to download a software program (anti-virus, CD burner etc) I get a message saying I'm not connected to the internet. I have tried everything! Not only can't I download anything, when I try to install the CD creator software I just purchased I also get a message saying it can't connect to the internet. I have tried changing my firewall settings, removing my anti-virus and trying to go back to Internet Explorer 10. Nothing works. Am I going to have to reinstall Windows 7 on my computer?
Is there any way to get Microsoft Edge to ask every time where to download files like you can in IE 8 and up, instead of just setting it to 1 folder at a time.
WINDOWS 10 PRO: Pursuant to the tutorial in Ten Forums, the FAVORITES folder in the EDGE browser is stored in the DataStore folder. Is that correct? Is the tutorial correct? My check of the folder indicates the tutorial was correct.
Is there a way to change the default folder for downloads in Edge? I don't really want downloads being directed to my C: which is a SSD. I would prefer to change this to my HDD. Internet Explorer allowed this.
We all know that IE, Firefox, etc have the option to copy the download link of an ongoing download job. But it seems Microsoft had something really great in mind and has apparently removed that feature from Microsoft Edge I wonder wheres the 'Edge'??
how to bring back the useful 'copy download link' option of an ongoing download link in Edge?
Since installing the November Windows 10 update (11/17/15) none of my favorites are being stored in the default Edge folder. While in Edge the favorites are available but when I go to the default folder they are not listed. Is there another location they may be being saved or has my default location somehow been changed? My AppData folder shows a creation date of 11/17/15 with no modifications being made in favorites since that date.
Is there a system file that contains the various new icons found throughout Windows 10 - something along the lines of imageres.dll? It would be nice to use some of these for shortcuts.
I use a VPN and Cortana and the OS thinks I'm somewhere else. Is there anyplace to put a zip code to force the OS to think you're in a specific location?
I often see in the notification tray that something is accessing location even though I am not actively using any apps. Can anything other than "apps" access location? The only app I have that has permission to access location in the "Location and Privacy Settings" menu is Cortana.
