View 6 RepliesThe build worked fine for a few hours...but while I was watching a video on youtube my desktop rebooted and then it was an infinite reboot loop(works only till the windows loading and when coming to the sign in page it reboots)..
View 3 RepliesDespite all of the updates that are released my laptop doesn't seem to be installing them. I have restarted and turned my laptop on and off multiple times but to no avail. It is just showing this.
View 3 Repliesbefore in 8.1 I would have my 4 pin password to get passed the lock screen on my SP3, but now I have to type in my LONG AS HELL Microsoft password..
View 2 RepliesIt's subtle and hard to put your finger on at first, but I noticed my eyes getting tired and getting a headache from the lack of contrast, so I plugged it into an external monitor and compared between a computer with an older build and the new build and the blacks are no longer black, they're grey and the whole contrast is muted with everything washed out.
No update available to the GPU so I had to roll back to an older build. I've still got a headache from that, hope they catch this and don't just steam ahead

I'm running Windows 10 (build 10130) in a virtual machine and I noticed that the startup sound wasn't playing. The box for "Play startup sound" is checked in the Sound control panel, and I even checked imageres.dll to see if the startup sound was still there. (it still is.)
View 9 RepliesSo I just built my new PC and installed windows 10 but now I cannot connect to the internet to download the drivers.
Its saying i need a network controller.
Should I download the drivers for LAN onto USB from my other PC and install on new PC?
I am currently using an asus laptop and running windows 10 build 10074. I keep trying to upgrade to the new 10122 build but every time I get to the installing windows circle. It gets stuck at 19% overall and 64% copying files. I have tried the solution for the surface pro 3 that gets stuck at 18%. I have also contact Microsoft 5 times and they couldn't fix it.
View 3 RepliesAm trying to install build 10074 on a freshly formatted (no dual boot) 256GB SSD in my Dell XPS 12 via USB. I get through the installation, reboot, do the initial setup, provide my MS account, then get stuck. White screen with frozen ball circle and "Just a moment..." displayed.
View 9 RepliesFor a few weeks I'm already stuck in Build 10166 of the Windows Insider program, Microsoft said that insiders would receive the launch version before public but I still haven't received an update to the final version yet. However non insiders already have the final version. I'm refreshing the Windows Update every half an hour and it only gives me Windows Defender updates every now and then.
View 9 RepliesI got home from work this morning and cracked open this laptop to update it, and at about the same time I went to PC via RC and started the update as well. I let both download and went to take a nap, after waking up I checked laptop and it was still downloading at about 85%, then checked the PC and it had already updated, so went thru setup and looks fine.
I had some late lunch and watched the download going to browse web for a bit, came back and at 94%, closed up laptop had company, after they left reopen laptop and after a bit checked and still at 94%, that was two hours ago and still nothing, I even shut down and restart and doesn't move.
so, my computer has been trying to download the november 11th update of windows 10 and I cant figure out why its staying stuck at 0%. How to force the update or why its staying stuck at 0%? anything I can do?
View 2 RepliesCurrently attempting to download Windows 10, I do have the 'Get Windows 10' update installed, and I did reserve my copy. That notification has not yet prompted me that 10 is ready to install, so being the impatient person I am, I downloaded the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool. From this tool I have both chosen the option to 'Install Windows 10' and 'Create media from this tool' (via USB flash drive that is 16GB and FAT32 formatted). When choosing these options, the tools first step is to download Windows 10. I've not been successful when downloading, it has been stuck at 0% overnight each time I've tried this. Why this can't download?

Troubleshooter found no errors.
I am upgrading from Windows 7 to a pc but it seems to be stuck looking for updates. should I start again? Well, I am starting over but was wondering if I could do something different to avoid the problem.
View 8 RepliesSo, recently (after the November build release) I woke the next morning to find that my computer underwent a rather major update. After which, it seemed, my home network was thrown out of wack. I immediately rolled/reverted/recovered to previous build. But now everything is out of wack. Most of the time I have to restart my computer just so it'll communicate with my printer to start printing.
And restarting the computer is twice as long if it restarts at all. Most of the time It gets stuck in the "restart" progress animates (the rotating circles) and I have to press the restart button on the computer tower, with great regret and dread. Transferring files from one windows 10 device to another is a 50/50 hit or miss. I'm not literate when it comes to networking and was super happy how everything was.
But now, not only is my wifi home network out of wack, but my computer itself is wonky. I figure I might as well reinstall the newest build in hopes that it'll at least fix a fe of the problems. But anytime I check for updates, the newest build no longer shows up.
issue of no internet connection after update to 10130? The motherboard is using Realtek Gigabit Ethernet. A check indicated there is driver issue which block connection to my Linksys EA9200 router. There is no issue with the previous build.
View 9 RepliesAll my desktop icons are stuck on the left side of the desktopAll file explorer view are stuck in details view. Now yes, I have turned off Auto-arrange, still refreshes to all icons on left. I have tired ALL sorts combinations of view + sort by... nothing. I have tired many anti-malware/virus scans and nothing has come up. I have tired CCleaner pretty much everything and the problem persists.
Of note, I had done a system restore a week and half ago to a specific point and that fixed the problem but for just a day, then it happened again. When I got around to having time to go for another system restore, that restore point was gone and now no other restore point is fixing the issue -_-That left me to think it might be something I installed or perhaps a windows update... but after having uninstalled pretty much everything I could that I installed in the last week as well as removing recent updates.... nothing. I have also tried making a new windows account (local)... nothing. Also tried in safe mode, still nothing.
I wanted to try out windows 10 on my old PC, so I downloaded the latest ISO and installed I via USB. After installing, I'm stuck on the create account screen and can't pass it. Tried entering outlook account, tried creating local account but nothing works and I'm stuck on create account screen. See the attached images ....
View 6 RepliesLast week my PC got a update of .net framework and MS office...according to that I updated but because of this update it broke the update settings of w10...i'm unable to update to new build(10041)...also I tried to turn w10 in safe mode to make restore to previous restore point but after pressing f8 it didn't show me the safe mode options.
View 2 RepliesWhen I first got Windows 10, I experienced frequent crashes and hangs, and I frequently had to restart, because something wasn't working right. About a month ago, the system finally became reasonably stable. Yesterday, I upgraded to build 10586, and so far at least I haven't had any crashes or hangs, but every time I turn the computer on, I have to restart to get everything to work right. Is it possible to just ignore those build upgrade notices, so I can enjoy a stable OS for a while?
View 9 RepliesI have received the free update from Windows 7 to Windows 10.My issues originally started when the start menu with the apps on disappeared I researched the internet and managed to fix this by using Powershell and copying and pasting in some instrucitons
My computer has recently done an update and I am on build 10240 and now my apps do not work at all. I wish I could go back to WIndows 7 but am over the month where it allows you to which is very annoying as Windows 10 seems very unstable.how I am to get my apps working again I have researched the internet and tried some fixes (including Powershell again) but to no avail The apps do not work - not in the start menu or in the all apps section.
So I recently returned from holiday and saw that my PC hadnt updated from build 10130 to build 10240.
It is stuc at 1% downloading, have left it for a few days, but no luck.
I no longer have the Insider app on my build of Windows 10.
I tried going to Settings, system, apps & features, manage optional features, but the Insider app is not listed as a reinstall option.
Since installing the Technical Preview update yesterday, IE crashes or hangs on about half the websites I visit (including this one), but not 100% of the time.
Haven't been able to tell if there is specific content within pages that crash that could be causing it, but apparently I will have to use Firefox until the next update that should include Spartan.
