Feb 10, 2016When I tried to play a disc in the dvd player nothing happened, so I checked in Device Manager and the dvd had a yellow triangle on it, so I uninstalled it then restarted the computer. There was no change so I checked the error report and found this:
"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"
I opened regedit and went to {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}, there was a lower listed but not an upper. I restarted the computer but the DVD still is not working.

My Super Multi DVD Burner will only play CDs, now that I upgraded to windows 10. Every time I insert a DVD I get the Windows DVD player, which says "To play something, insert a DVD", & above the controls it says, "Error: Video could not be decoded", Yet it will play any CD I insert.

Oct 28, 2015I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and an SSD. I know you are supposed to run in AHCI for an SSD, and did a full Windows 10 install after enabling this setting in BIOS. Now my CD/DVD burner will spin up, but will not read disc's in Windows.

Jan 4, 2016My CD/DVD burner disappeared from the File Explorer, Device Manager, and Computer management two days ago. Today I found it in the device manager by looking under "hidden devices". Following instructions from the Microsoft site I uninstalled the driver and restarted the computer as instructed but this failed and now the device doesn't show under the Device Manager-DVD/CD-ROM devices. I have googled all over to find a driver for it. {Lite-on iHAS324-09A} . Even Lite-on wants me to buy a program to detect and update my drivers and if Lite-on has the drivers on site I sure can't find any. I expect that I could likely buy a new CD/DVD burner just as cheap. I downloaded a couple but have yet to see the CD/DVD burner listed. I am dual booted and it did show In Linux Mint and I could look at a CD's contents. I have spent hours on this and now am completely lost as to what to do next.

Aug 28, 2015Why can Microsoft understand I don't want to use these POS Realtek drivers. I use to disable driver updates from Windows 10 by going into Device Installation settings and Never install drivers from Windows update but now since the last stupid update everytime the POS Realtek drives install automatically no matter how many times I roll back and remove them. I hate the Realtek drives because the audio is super loud and sounds terrible. I just want to use the Microsoft HD Audio Driver which sounds great and uses little resources but no Windows 10 decides that the POS Realtek driver is better.

Jul 29, 2015Just like the title says, I don't want the realtek audio drivers as it completely messes with my audio and also doesn't correctly switch when i plug in headphones for example.
It also doesn't allow for the 'speaker fill' enhancement to be used when playing stereo content through surround sound.
Windows itself does a far better job as opposed to realtek.
Every time i uninstall realtek it automatically gets reinstalled.

Dec 17, 2015So, first up, was getting crashes with my windows 10 after installing nvidia driver 359.00, mostly crashes that recovered automatically, then started getting Blue Screens. Tried 359.06 and had the same problems. Rolled back to 358.91 which originally had been stable but after the rollback became crashy, but less than the other 2 drivers.
Had a HARD crash while playing Dragon Quest Heroes, rebooted from that and could not boot into windows whatsoever. Had to pull the card, use the motherboard video, removed the nvidia drivers entirely. I can boot into windows as long as there are no nvidia drivers while using my GTX 670. While attempting to reinstall any nvidia drivers with maybe 5% of the green bar on the installer showing it goes black screen, sits for a bit, then reboots. BIOS looks fine, windows splash comes up, not the password screen, black screen there. Tried what I could find to put the password in and get past he black screen but nothing happening.
Is there a problem with my card or my windows install? I'd rather not buy a new card but its always a pain reinstalling windows if I don't actually have to. how to export all my windows settings if I do need to reinstall.?

Aug 11, 2015I installed windows 10 using the iso option of media creation tool. I did a clean install of it. It worked fine till the time I noticed that the graphics were not installed. So I downloaded drivers for my nvidia 7025 nforce 630a (309.08-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-international-whql.exe). But when I tried to install it, after some time, the display went blank and i got an "Out Of Range error". I encountered this error in the past, so I tried to boot the system in "low-resolution mode" and then fix it. But Low Resolution mode gives me same error. Need installing the driver correctly, as the performance of the system is damn slow (as it is using microsoft's basic video driver).

Lost DVD Drive / Burner
Jan 25, 2016OK, 2 days before I upgraded to Windows10 my DVD was working. I know because I was burning disc's. After I upgraded, I now only have 1 DVD drive instead of the 2 I had before. I went into my BIOS and it only see's the one drive.
I've never heard of an operating system that could cause the BIOS to 'not see' a drive. Is that possible? I put a new SATA cable on and that made no difference. Or is it just a coincidence that my mobo no longer see's it? I really don't want to uninstall 10 just to find out, it takes to long to put it on.
Left Channel Audio Not Working After Installing New GPU
Jan 28, 2016I have run into a weird problem after upgrading from a GTX 770 to an R9 390.For some reason, the audio on my left channel stopped working. I have tried re-installing my realtek drivers, using only the windows native audio drivers, and making sure that the AMD audio drivers have NOT been installed on my PC. All three yielded the same results. Also, my headphones work flawlessly when used on another device so the problem must be within my PC.
I have also checked to make sure that the audio levels were equal on both channels. I am not able to use the front audio ports on my case for testing because they also stopped working. Unfortunately, I am not sure if my front audio ports stopped working due to this same problem or if it had been broken for awhile.

Aug 16, 2015I have a Synaptics touch pad on my HP Envy laptop. Prior to upgrading to Windows 10 if I went to mouse in the control panel there was a checkbox to check to disable the touch pad if a external mouse was detected. This worked fine. Now under Windows 10 I can still check the box to disable the touch pad but the setting does not stick and has to be rechecked after every reboot. Is there a way to get this setting to stick? There is no disable setting in the device manager for the Synaptics touch pad.

Nov 8, 2015I have Windows 10 installed in a VM (Oracle VirtualBox). In device manager, most of the devices show up as generic.
I downloaded the correct driver for my GTX980 video card. I tried installing it and it says "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware." How can I make Windows 10 see the correct hardware I'm using? Is there a setting in VirtualBox or Windows itself?
