View 8 RepliesJust upgraded but now my second monitor isn't working and when i go to update my driver i get this
View 8 RepliesI've been hearing about this issue for people with Nvidia GPUs. The driver cannot be installed, and it says that there is no compatible hardware. My GPU is a GTX 960. What should I do to get the driver installed on Windows 10?
View 1 RepliesI downloaded the update and got lots of errors trying to install it. I converted the esd file to an ISO and tried to run it from a DVD but get a "Can't Continue" message
View 3 RepliesI grabbed the install.esd from the upgrade from 11102. Created an ISO using DVD and USB. However, I get this "setup cannot continue due to a corrupted installation file". Tried going back to 11102 and repeated the process three time. Still same thing. (I have grabbed the install.esd file before and after the installation but it didn't make a difference. I'm trying to do a clean install by the way. Otherwise I just have to live with the updated OS.
View 3 RepliesI am attempting to install W10 through USB drive. However as I go through the setup steps, at some point the mouse will start lagging and the setup goes stuck. I don't know if it's a memory problem since I have 3gb of RAM. However if the PC is turned off for a long time the setup tends to continue longer though eventually it goes stuck.
View 3 RepliesDo I need to reinstall my drivers after resetting my PC?
View 3 Replieswhy my print spooler keeps shutting off since i loaded W10. I have a HP ENVY and have tried to run both printers that worked prior to the install. Both work on the other laptop that isnt running W10.
View 3 RepliesWhen I install modem MMX310G 3G USB MANAGER in windows 10, it shows driver installation failed and when open this app it shows no devices.
View 2 RepliesSo I tried to update from Windows 8 to 10 last week. That didn't work for me, so I had to format everything and install Windows 10 afterwards. At first neither W-LAN nor LAN would work. Then I un- & reinstalled the W-LAN driver so now everything's fine except for my ethernet connection.
- Adapter is enabled
- I have un- & reinstalled the driver multiple times (even tried compatability mode, since some sites state that the latest version for AR8161 only supports win 8)
- I was about a thousand times in the properties menu of the ethernet adapter
The full name of the adapter is "Qualcomm Atheros AR8161 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30)"
I just ran diagnostics on the ethernet adapter and after trying to fix some network protocols Windows prompted me with this. So I tried to fix this by entering
Code:
Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
Code:
sfc /scannow
Code:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Code:
sfc /scannow
In cmd which sadly didn't do the trick. Neither did entering
Code:
netsh int ip reset c:
esetlog.txt
in cmd (admin ofc) after editing the permissions for the "26" folder in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Nsi/{eb004a00-9b1a-11d4-9123-0050047759bc}
So the group "everyone" has "full control".
I am still stuck here w/ the "One or more network protocols are missing on this computer" -problem.
Need to install a printer driver from a cd but have a message : action blocked and have to contact admin. i m the admin and. the pilote is not on Samsung web site. how can unblock the config of win. 10 to be able to insall the driver.
View 1 RepliesThis is not exactly win 10 specific question, i had same problem in win 7, but now that i'm on win 10, that problem is still there. Here's what's going on:
I have high-end gaming PC with GTX 980 and 4k monitor and 1080p monitor as secondary.
4k Monitor is connected via DisplayPort and other monitor is using HDMI
Both of those monitors have built-in speakers (actually i don't think 1080p monitor has speakers)
But here's the problem, windows 10 keeps automatically installing HDMI audio drivers and 50% of the time when i boot my system, all my software defaults to the stupid HDMI sound.
This is extremely annoying and i'm about to pull my hair out over this. All my media players default to monitor audio, even tho windows does not select it as "default device".
Also even tho other monitor doesn't have speakers, system still thinks that the monitor has speakers and sets it as audio device.
Also when i record gameplays using shadowplay or other recorder, lot of times there's no audio on videos, because screen recorders also default to that dumb hdmi audio. I can't be bothered to check audio every time i do something.
I really need a way to tell windows 10 to STOP doing that. Here's what i've done so far:
1. under playback devices, i have DISABLED both of the monitors as playback devices.
2. I have tried uninstalling + disabling drivers for both monitors in "device manager"
3. i used local group policy to force windows not to install drivers (gpedit.msc > administrative templates > system > device installation), then i grabbed the group ID from device manager and entered it there to prevent windows from installing drivers for any audio groups.
After step 3, drivers were not installed, but windows still shows both monitors in "playback devices", only difference is that in device manager it says that this device does not have drivers installed, but they're still showing up in "playback devices", therefore all my software is STILL able to use them as playback and some of my software, like winamp, still defaults to them.
Forgot to mention, that if I disable both of them in playback devices, windows automatically re-enables them at some point. probably at boot, but i can't be bothered to check every few seconds, i just want windows to STOP trying to tell me what's best, i like my Asus STRIX 7.1 headset + 7.1 Hi-Fi home theater speaker system, i don't need some tiny jurassic stereo speakers lol.
I want to punch whoever made this feature. I mean .. what kind of an caveman would buy high-end gaming PC with GTX 980 + 4k monitor and NOT have a proper sound card + headset? Did those low-brainers in microsoft seriously think that anyone using high-end gaming PC, would like to use HDMI as primary audio? that's just ridiculous!
I think my only option is to force windows to think that i'm not using HDMI so it won't even detect my monitors as audio devices, is that possible.
I've repeatedly attempted this, but always get "An error occurred during setup. Restart your computer, then run setup again". This is an all too typical message you can find associated with many Epson products.
I've tried:
-Clean boot
-Safe mode (install enabled)
-Using an Epson removal tool I finally obtained after my 5th chat with Epson.
-An Epson fix deleting temp folder and looking for setup.exe that never appeared.
-Manually removing all Epson folders and registry entries I can find.
-Disabling firewall and AV
The same CD installed ok on my 6 year-old laptop (both run Windows x64).
I've run SFC /Scannow - ok
At best, the scanner is recognised as being connected when plugged in, and appears with a yellow trangle under 'Other Devices' in Device Manager.
This is my setup:
PC: Alienware Area 51 R2 with a GeForce GTX 980 NVIDIA 10DE-13C0
Monitor: Samsung 4k TV 48JU6700
Only the HDMI1 port on this TV supports HDMI 2.0. I have a good quality IBRA 6ft HDMI 2.0 cable that I'm using. If I try to boot into Windows 10 while I'm plugged into the HDMI 1 port, the screen stays black and doesn't even boot properly. If I press the power button on the PC it instantly shuts off and if I try to move the HDMI cable to a different port nothing happens. However, if I plug into the HDMI2 port which doesn't support HDMI 2.0, the computer boots fine and I can get into Windows, however the mouse jumps around, the text is weird colors and not very sharp on webpages, and images aren't great.
I updated the BIOS, I have all the latest updates for other hardware, including GeForce Experience. I also followed all the instruction on setting up the TV to use as a 4k monitor.
I have been experiencing problems with Windows 10 ever since I've installed a new graphics card: the MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti. It worked well the very first time. But rebooting gives me a blank screen. I have been able to enter the system once (by clicking the spacebar and entering my password blindly but that does not seem to work anymore) to try and update the driver that came with it.
I wasn't able to as I first needed to uninstall the previous one, which required a reboot. I was also able to check under Device Manager / Display Adapters to disable the shared Intel Monitor and enable the GeForce card. As confirming these new settings also required a reboot, I decided rebooting was probably the best option. I should have known better. I'm back to my blank screen and nothing seems to work. I have tried F2, F8, F10, F12, Windows + P + down arrow twice, spacebar, and Ctrl.
How to reboot and enter the system? And what to do next?
Today 11-17-15 I restarted my computer to install the latest version of Window 10. (Not an Insider Build) The installation was going fine until now. It is stuck at 54%. The "breathe" animation on the percentage ring is still moving so it is not frozen.
View 1 RepliesDecided to install Windows 10 this weekend. From what I can tell, it installed properly. But cannot get past the "Welcome to Window 10" Screen. See image below. I am on a home-built PC with Window 7 Pro. All current updates to Windows 7 are installed, and the Win 10 compatability screen shows that my system is 100% compatible.I have been searching all over the internet to find a solution, and nothing seems to apply to me. here's what I've done:
I have rebooted. Disabled Microsoft's antivirus. Disabled ALL USB ports except for Mouse and Keyboard within the BIOS. I made sure my Bios is up to date (Asus Rampage IV Extreme). Unplugged everything from the PC, USB and Ethernet cable.
I have been able to get to a troubleshooting screen. See below. I can use Mouse and Keyboard here. But cannot boot into Win10 with mouse and Keyboard. I enabled Safe Mode, but when F8 is hit at startup, I am only able to get to a selection of Hard Drives (3rd Photo). The only thing I am able to do is revert back to Windows 7, which works fine after that.
I have tried installing from Windows Update, and the direct link download. I've uninstalled the Nvidia drivers, and still not able to proceed past the first image below. It's as if the mouse and keyboard do not work. So I cannot tell if the system is locking up when it gets to this point, or if something else is happening. The error code I get is: c1900101-40019, but don't see an exact answer to what that full code means.
After installing windows 10 i noticed the resolution was a bit low, so i tried to change it, but it was locked and 1024x768. I then opened my device manager to see that both of my GPU's was giving error code 43 and was disabled. I searched the net for solutions, found something that said i should do a complete uninstallation of my GPU driver, i did that, and it still didn't work. I removed my secondary GPU and tried again, and still nothing.. I am running out of options...
View 1 RepliesI've upgraded to 10 and now am confused regarding how to continue my backup/restore from Win 7. When I access control panel, it refers back to Windows 7. I have no problems with reformatting my backup drive and starting with Windows 10. Is there a Win 10 Bu/restore program? How should I proceed?
View 2 RepliesI have a PC running Windows 7 Pro. I ran the 'Get Windows 10' app and it reported that it was not possible to upgrade because my graphics card (Geforce 7300LE) was not supported. I bought a new graphics card (Geforce GT610) and re-ran the app.
Despite the removal and replacement of the old card, the app still says I can't upgrade because the old card is unsupported. It appears that it hasn't detected the change. Is there any way to make the app 'forget' the original card? As far as I can see in device manager the driver for the old card has gone so what is the app looking at?
NVIDIA driver update for NVIDIA GeForce GT 620 fails to update in Windows 10 - Error 0x80070002 - After upgrading, I lost my 2nd monitor.
View 2 RepliesI just noticed that in device manager Microsoft Basic Driver Adapter is enabled not my NVIDIA Geforce 6200 TC. Is there anyway to get it back or do I have to wait for an update? Or should I revert back to Windows 7 and go to Windows 10 when its ready.
View 1 RepliesI had the upgrade to windows 10 icon in the bottom of my screen like a lot of others. But when it was time to upgrade I didn't want to because I am a gamer and don't want to upgrade before I know everything is safe (all drivers headset, gpu, mobo everything) but I clicked continue so I could accept all the conditions and such. But now it is going to upgrade automatically....
View 1 RepliesI have a Similar problem in which I cannot install the latest windows 10 update I get to 75 percent and then it says it can’t continue and resets.
My computer is a Windows 7 machine upgraded to Windows 10.
I have ran sacs scan and it found corrupt files. Done all the other scans that you have suggested and I did get that source/image is repairable.
Tried all the Command prompts DIM/Online and that would not work either.
Using Microsoft media creation I re download windows 10 Is Mounted it do a dad and pointed the DIM online source to F: it also says that source fills could not be found.
I have even tried to reset Windows 10 but that encounters problems as well
I have even tried to reset windows through ISO and that encounters problems as well.
My laptop is of Lenovo make, model No. G510s Touch. I am using Windows10 operating system. My web camera driver (micro soft veraion 2015.1064.10.0) got corrupted with virus and camera stopped working.
View 6 RepliesI have upgraded to windows 10 about a week ago but everytime I turn my pc on, it says HVECK is not supported by this OS. My audio driver is VIA High Definition Audio driver. It seems like they dont have an updated driver for windows 10. What do I do? Can I change to Realtek instead of VIA? I mean is that possible to use a different audio driver? Like, uninstall VIA completely and install Realtek?
