Drivers/Hardware :: Enabling 4 Way Scrolling With Magic Mouse
Feb 10, 2016
Is it possible to enable 4 way scrolling with Apple Magic Mouse on Windows10? I loaded the drivers from Bootcamp which enables 2 way scrolling. The only drivers I have found that work well are from Parallels on my Mac. Trying to enable the same capabilities on my PC with the Magic Mouse.

I decided to make the jump to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1, and I have to say, the design looks simpler to use, but this new OS software has done something with my touchpad. Originally, on my Windows 8.1, I was able to scroll through whatever web pages or folders in my computer with one finger using my touchpad. With this new update, initially, I thought it broke my touchpad completely, but the problem has been narrowed down to having to now use two fingers to scroll in the most awkward way as this touchpad doesn't seemed to be designed for two finger scrolling. Is there a way for me to change this back? Would I have to revert back to Windows 8.1 to get my one finger scrolling back?
The laptop I am using is a Gateway NE56R34u, and the touchpad is an ELAN.

For some instances, I do have a long right click context menu which causes it to require clicking the 'up and 'down' buttons respectively to see the hidden options. However, a mouse scroll is more convenient. I have tried various makes of mouse but none of them seem to be able to enable me to wheel scroll in a right click context menu.

I just updated my win7 to win10, despite several negligible issues, so far I'm rather content about it. I browsed several options, lurked around settings, internet, friends- no straight forward method found. So, how to set the touchpad back, to behave as it used to in win7? My laptop does not have touchscreen, therefore i have no need to use this built-in 'feature', which is no good for me at all.

I upgraded my Gateway NV570P laptop. As soon as the upgrade finished, the scrolling on my touch pad no longer worked. I checked the settings, and it is still set properly for the scrolling to work. I tried upgrading the drivers, but Gateway only has touchpad driver updates for Windows 8 not Windows 10 - I tried installing those updates anyway, but it didn't fix the problem.

I updated to Windows 10 this morning, and after doing so realized that my side scrolling on my mouse pad (I'm on a laptop) doesn't work anymore. Googled, found out it was a driver issue, and went to download the correct driver.
However, acer aspire drivers don't have the touchpad driver updated for Windows 10 yet. Do I have to wait until the driver comes out to fix this issue? If so, how long that could take? (They have the important drivers updated already, those for bluetooth and wifi)

My laptop touchpad scrolling stopped working this morning after I updated my gpu driver. I went to the packard bell website and looked at the touchpad drivers for my laptop. There is a synaptics one and a elan one.
I have them both installed on my laptop but it still isn't working and there is still no virtual scrolling option in synaptics. These are the options that I have in the synaptics settings:
This is what it should look like:
What do I have to do to get the scroll trackpad feature to work again? P.S, when in device manager, even though there is an ELAN tab in mouse properties, Only the synaptics driver shows up under the mice section in device manager. Does this mean that the synaptics driver is replacing the ELAN and I need them both for the scroll to work.

I just got a second hand laptop - Acer V3-771G with an Elan touchpad and I put a new SSHD hard drive in it and installed Windows 10 fresh.
I see lots of issues with ELAN touchpads but it seems as though Microsoft has produce one that installs and fixes most scrolling issues.
However, I have a strange one. When I enable vertical scrolling in the driver, it works as long as the mouse is active - and for up to 5 seconds after. But when I stop using the touchpad and go to scroll again after 5 seconds, it doesn't work anymore! It's like it disables it after inactivity - but only 5 seconds?
I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, tried various versions - but of course Acer doesn't support Windows 10 on this older model laptop (circa 2012) so there are no specific drivers for it on their site. Everything works except for this scrolling after 5 seconds - which I can recreate every single time.

Current Windows 10 (build 10240): I'm trying to turn on Bitlocker on my system drive, an SSD. During Bitlocker's preparation, shrinking the volume, I get error 0x80042574, and Bitlocker enabling will not proceed. The SSD reports 46.5 GB free out of 238 GB, and scanning it reports no errors.
(This is a UEFI system, and the system SSD has a 100 MB EFI system partition.)

I have a brand new HP laptop that came with Windows 10 home installed on it. I have downloaded and applied all updates from MS.
I use a Wi-Fi connection to my Time Warner router. I have everything setup and things seem to be running fine.
Here's the deal.
I thought I would try and use my blue tooth external speaker. (Just to see what would happen.) I enabled Bluetooth.
StartSettingsDevicesBluetooth.
After I move the slider (so the status reads (On), .... I see a message that reads "Your PC is searching for and can be discovered by Bluetooth devices".
Two things happen:
The "search" never seems to end. And I lose WI-Fi connectivity.
I finally, move the Bluetooth slider to the "Off" position and my Wi-Fi connectivity returns.
I "do" see my external speaker. And it does work. (As long as "Bluetooth" is enabled.)
But of course, I then have no Internet connectivity and THAT becomes an issue for me.

I received an update for windows 10, and after installing, my mouse didn't work. I tried several other mice, and none of them worked. I looked more into the problem and after a while of exploring Device manager, the drivers weren't installed, but when I followed the instructions to install the drivers, it said the drivers didn't exist, even though a couple hours before hand, the mouse had been working fine.

I started to upgrade all my drivers since I downloaded windows 10. Everything was going along fine until I hit the driver on my mouse. Gone the mouse disappeared. There was no way to get it back. So I finally hooked up another mouse and tried to go back and roll back the driver to the other version. The roll back box won't lite up and it has to be lite to be able to roll back.

I have a Acer Aspire E17 with a precision touchpad. The touchpad works, but I prefer the mouse. Sometimes when I am using the mouse I hear a strange sound then it stops working. It only lasts for about 10 seconds then the sound returns and the mouse works again.

I recently upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10. My mouse worked fine in windows 7, but it does not work in windows 10. Without my mouse to work with, I am lost on the computer.
Information from the Control Panel (System) is as follows:
HP pavilion dv5 notebooselectk PC , windows 10 Home , 64-bit operating system .
The mouse that I have is a Rocketfish Nano Laptop Optical Mouse.
Information from the Control Panel (Harware and Sound) (Devises and Printers) shows an icon
of the RF Nano Laptop Optical Mouse.
When I select the icon , there is information at the bottom of the page that reads:
RF Nano Laptop Optical Mouse Status: Driver error
Model: Rf Nano Laptop Optic...
Category: Mouse
Status: Needs troubleshooting
More info from the Control Panel (Hardware and Sound) (Devises and Printers) is taken from the Mouse link.
The (Hardware tab) in the Mouse link shows two different types of mouse.
One is a Pluralinput Mouse 0.8.2.0 and the other is a Synaptics P/S2 Port Touch Pad.
The Pluralinput information reads:
Manufacturer : Pluralinput
Location : on RF Nano Laptop Optical Mouse
Devise status : This devise cannot start (Code 10)

I have just upgraded to windows 10 the other day. I am running an Acer Aspire Notebook R3-471T, Intel HD 4400 Series, i5-4210U @ 1.7GHz 2.40GHz, 6GB Ram. So after i upgraded to win 10, i downloaded auto detect driver update from acer and intel. I updated all my drivers and then i downloaded some games. Apparently every 4-5 secs mouse freezes for a fraction then goes back to normal. I can't play anything because every 5 seconds my mouse (therefore the gameplay) freezes. I didn't have this problem on win 8.1.

Every 5/10 minutes, my mouse pointer keeps sticking, for around 1 second, then jumps to where it should have been. It's almost as if the pointer isn't actually sticking but the screen isn't updating. This started happening after upgrading to Windows 10.

I've had a Logitech M510 mouse for about a month and time is running out on a return. My problem is jerky and intermittent movement problems. These may have a workaround my using a USB extension cable since moving the receiver away from USB 3.0 ports may eliminate the interference.
I'm thinking of returning the mouse tomorrow before the return term expires. Are there mice that do not exhibit the 3.0 interference or is this simply a technology impediment to using wireless mouce?

Okay so I had this problem in windows 8.1 but fixed it by turning off smart sense which still has the same function in windows 10 but it did not work. I am looking so find solutions online because this problem is really annoying when it comes to games.

I just upgraded to Windows 10 a few days ago on my desktop. After it booted for the first time, everything worked just like before on Windows 8.1.
After a bit, it prompted me to restart for updates. After it finished with the updates, I noticed that the mouse started a major stuttering problem when scrolling.
I noticed it first in Chrome, so I switched over to another program (Notepad++) and it did it over there as well.
I am assuming that it was caused by the update after upgrading to Windows 10.
