Drivers/Hardware :: HDD Not Recognized In Startup - Only After Reset

Oct 6, 2015

I've recently upgraded to Windows 10 and I'm facing a problem: in the startup one of the HDD is not recognized.. I have to push the reset button and when Windows starts again then the HDD is recognized as normal and everyting goes OK.

But I'm getting tired of this routine.. everytime I need to use the computer I have to make the startup twice.

For more details.. I have Windows installed on a SSD HDD, then I have a SATA HDD and a third IDE HDD which is the one with the recognition problem.. I don't understand why the IDE HDD is not recognized in the first startup...

Factory Reset Failed 3 Times - Stuck On Startup Loop Now

Jan 24, 2016

I tried to reset my computer today after 3 years of using it without any sort of re-formatting, and all three times the reset got stuck on 65% before a blue screen appeared and said that an error occurred. It would then give me the options of either:

a) returning back to my windows 10, with nothing changed
b) Trying to reset again
c) advanced options.

I tried the reset 3 times, and after the last try failed I went to advanced options to look at other ways to approach the issue, such as checking if there were any restore points that I could restore to (which there were none).

After that didn't work, I clicked on the first option of just returning back to my windows 10, and that was when it would not start up anymore.

My computer now is stuck on a infinite loop of the launch screen of the ASUS logo, it flashes, then goes onto the second ASUS logo, and this is all it does, go round and round.

I tried to boot it on F8, F9 (the ASUS recovery button), and the 'delete' button. NOTHING WORKS.

I finally tried F2, which led me to the BIOS page? And I clicked on the boot tab and disabled the first boot configuration option, and still to no avail. It returned to looping, and when trying F8, F9, after disabling that BIOS option, and it still won't do anything but loop.

PC Unable To Startup After Attempting To Reset - Blue Screen Error

Aug 10, 2015

My pc is unable to start-up after attempting to reset it(fresh reset). It is in a restart loop and when I try to turn it on the Windows 10 logo appears but then a blue screen appears saying "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we will restart for you." This then lets the PC restart and this restart process happens again. I have tried pressing F8 while it boots up to try to get it into safe mode but had no luck.

3. Try to update drivers using IOBit Drivers Booster PRO but all drivers are up-to-date.

I have taken the side panel off my PC and all cables are properly plugged in.

I have not tampered with the BIOS at all.

Drivers/Hardware :: CDs Not Recognized In DVD / CD Samsung Drive

Feb 3, 2016

I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and alll is working well except for the CD/DVD drive does not automatically recognise a CD when its inserted. With previous Windows 7 when I put a music CD in drive wiith itunes open then itunes would ask if i wanted to import CD.

The CD/DVD is recognised in Device Manager and says that it is working properly. the only way I can get the CD to be recognised after inserting the CD is by going to the Device Manager and double clicking the CD/DVD line to open 'properties'. At that point itunes asks me if i want to import.

The drive is a Samsung SH-223L.

Autoplay is ON

Drivers/Hardware :: USB3 Device Not Recognized

Sep 4, 2015

When I plug a USB3 flash drive into either USB3 port the message is Windows does not recognize it.

If I plug the same drive into another computer USB3 port everything is fine.

If I partially plug the drive in so that it only hits the USB2 contacts it works fine.

If I plug it into a USB2 port it works fine.

The drivers are installed. I uninstalled them and let it reinstall - same thing.

Drivers/Hardware :: Canon LBP6000 / 6018 Is Not Recognized

Feb 23, 2016

When I plug in the cable for the Canon LBP6000/6018 printer in my new Lenovo 100 I get a message that it isn't recognized. I've used two different cables with the same result. My printer does not show up on the Devises screen. The printer worked perfectly on my old computer with Windows 7. I even converted my old computer to 10 and got the same error message, so the issue is with 10. How do I get my printer to work on 10? It's only a year old, so I won't replace it.

Drivers/Hardware :: IPod Not Recognized By ITunes After Installation

Oct 2, 2015

When I start itunes a box comes up that says "An ipod has been detected but it could not be identified properly..." and then goes on to give instructions what to do. I have followed those instructions. I have also been to an Apple store and my ipod is up-to-date as is my itunes software.

The ipod will note be recognized. Further, all podcasts contained on the ipod that I have already listened to now have a symbol against them and cannot be replayed. I use my ipod all the time and am extremely annoyed that to date no solution that works has been provided.

Another problem with Windows 10 is with already purchased "Big Fish" games. The games appear so big that I cannot see the bottom of the screen to be able to play properly. I wish I had never upgraded to Windows 10.

Drivers/Hardware :: Upgrade From 8.1 - Hard Drive No Longer Recognized?

Jul 31, 2015

I just upgraded to Windows 10 as I planned to use the weekend to sort out any issues I might encounter during the upgrade. Well boy did I ever. My Seagate 3TB drive decided it no longer wanted to be recognized by Windows anymore. It shows up as a failed/deactivated drive in Disk Management as seen here: [URL] It also shows up in Speccy as a physical drive. I currently have 2TB of data on there (including an OS image I did just before the upgrade as an extra prep step), so reformatting the volume is not an option until I get the data off.

Drivers/Hardware :: Moving AVI Files To External Drive / Drive Not Recognized And Lost All

Apr 14, 2016

I was moving video files (AVI) from an external backup drive (WD Element) to another external backup drive (Seagate expansion) after having moved another video file from my laptop (Acer) to that Seagate external drive. The night before I had moved some video files from the WD to the Seagate with no problem but using a different laptop (Sony). These video files are all rather large and I can tell that the space is still being allocated on the Seagate because while the folder cannot be seen the space that was there is still being used by the Seagate because I am missing over 100GB which would be about the size of that now missing folder.

What happened was there was a message that the Seagate drive could not be recognized while the files were in the process of being moved to that drive from the WD. This is after I had already moved a video file of about 26GB with no problem into that now missing folder. When I saw the message I attempted several times to move files to that Seagate drive but I could not so I unplugged the Seagate drive from that laptop (Acer) then reinserted it into the usb port. I got a repair message that said it needed to be repaired because some files were corrupted and that no data would be lost but the drive would be unavailable during the repairs so I checked ok. It took only about 30 seconds and it said the repairs were completed and the drive was available but I noticed that the folder that I was moving the video files to was not gone.

As I stated there are more than 100GB of files in that folder some are video and others are audio recordings that were created by using the myrecording (audio and video) features of the Acer laptop and they are very important so I need to figure out if they can be retrieved from that Seagate drive. I have not copied anything else onto that Seagate drive but I have plugged it into the Acer computer to ensure it is being recognized. Both the external drives WD and Seagate are plug and play that are powered from the usb -- they have no power adapters.

Drivers/Hardware :: CD / DVD Writer / BD Reader Not Recognized As Writer By Dell 8100?

Jan 4, 2016

I have a Dell 8100 XPS and when the hard drive went, I restored from an August backup (using Microsoft's Windows 10 backup) afetr replacing the drive. Unfortunately, I had a problem with the Ethernet adapter so eventually, I reinstalled Windows 10 fresh. The only major problem is that the machine recognizes the drive ( Liteon iHOS104) as a reader.

This is possibly because the 8100 does not officially support Windows 10 (according to Dell).

Is there any way to get it recognized as a writer?
