I want to uninstall a driver, but as soon as windows is rebootet, it download and install a driver
I want to install a driver that I do know work, but to do that, Windows own driver must be uninstalled.
I had reserved my copy of Win10, but then revoked the reservation as I want to control the download and installation my self.
But even after I revoked the reservation, well before Win10 was release, my laptop still seems to have downloaded the Win10 install files.
Now it tries to update every day. Luckely it fails every time, with error code 80240020.
I already removed the KB which installed the Win10 reservation tool. (KB3035583)
Also the GWX directory is gone.
can i avoid to download lots of stuff in the start menu like news,xbox new games,money,and others they are going to download every x time new informtaion..i just want the email

View 3 RepliesSince I upgraded from Win 8 to 10, I find that I need to restart my laptop several times a day or else it begins to blank out and flicker and then crash altogether. I recently installed CCcleaner (the free version) to clean the cache and that seemed to work but the problem still comes back, plus all my saved passwords get deleted. I have an HP Envy dv7 with 8 GB of RAM. This PC runs pretty well most of the time but when it begins to slow down and flicker, etc., then the problem starts. I do notice that this happens most often after I have been on the web for a period of time.
View 3 RepliesWindows 10 installed painlessly over my old Windows 7. In starting web browser, it always asks if I want to make it my default. I click "yes" and it then opens a window to assign a calendar and email address to the browser. I do not want a calendar or email address assigned to this user ID, but it will not accept a default browser without email address and calendar. How do I get past this? Everytime I open the browser it asks the default question, but will not accept as default without email and calendar assigned. I'm ready to go back to Windows 7.

It seems like they dont have an updated driver for windows 10. What do I do? Can I change to Realtek instead of VIA? I mean is that possible to use a different audio driver? Like, uninstall VIA completely and install Realtek?

View 19 RepliesSince the move to Windows 10 (from 7) I haven't been able to connect to my Bluetooth speaker. This worked for me under Windows 7. There is no bluetooth entry in the device manager.
I have a Dell Studio 1555. Both the WiFi and the Ethernet connection to the Internet are OK.
The computer is a dual boot machine with Ubuntu. The bluetooth feature does work in Ubuntu.
Need a driver for my dvd player in an Asus K53T laptop. When I upgraded to 10 my DVD wasn't recognized. One suggestion was to uninstall from the Device Manager, reboot and then hopefully it would be reinstalled.
Didn't happen. Then I foolishly signed on to driver shyster, which was an expensive failure. So, I'm surprised drivers wouldn't be available from the manufacturers.
I upgraded to windows 10 a day or so after it was released and now when I go to plug in my laptop to tv via hdmi or when I plug in an old xbox360 wired controller it keeps telling me that it found the updates for the drivers but encountered an error while attempting to install them. It doesn't give me an error code for this. Also when I check the updated center is says it could not install updates and gives me an error: Error 0x8000ffff.

View 3 RepliesI'm having an incredibly frustrating problem with my Windows 10 laptop. The laptop in question is a Clevo P650SE with the i7-4720HQ and GTX 970M. I reinstalled Windows last week and now i can't get rid of this damn Realtek driver. Whenever i uninstall the Realtek software from Control Panel, it comes straight back after a reboot.
A lot of websites suggest heading into the 'Device Installation Settings' and hitting 'No (Your device might not work as expected)' but this has no effect towards the issue. On previous builds of Windows 10 this worked fine, so i'm not sure what to do next.

The third-party INF does not contain digital signature information

Is there a way to remove Nuvoton SIO CIR Device Driver? I dont use it. I dont know where it came from but Windows Update is downloading it

Then, Disc Check can't be performed because Windows can't access the disk. When I open Settings > Devices, the message says iPod Driver error.

I recently replaced my GTX 660 with a GTX 970, and after I had completed installing that, the PC started up perfectly. The only issue was the internet said it was not connected (with a red X on the connection icon). I used the troubleshooter to discover that I did not have a LAN driver installed and windows didn't couldn't detect what I needed. I check my files and the driver was still there, so I uninstalled it expecting the disk that had come with the box of the motherboard to reinstall the driver correctly. After I had uninstalled the driver and used the disk to try and reinstall, the driver did not reappear. I searched for a driver install separately on my laptop, but to no avail. Nothing seemed to be compatible with my motherboard. The driver which I had assumed matched state that it could not detect the family of driver on my PC. I tried to do a recovery but didn't have a backup file, and resorted to a factory reset. After trying the disk after the reset, and continuing to search for the right driver, I came up empty handed.
