Oct 21, 2015Description: My USB keyboard stops working at the login screen. None of the keys are responsive. The onscreen keyboard works fine.
This happens on wakeup after a remote desktop session and after scheduled updates during the night. In both cases this happens after wakeup, which makes this tedious to reproduce.
The keyboard starts working after unplugging the usb and plugging back or after restarting. I have this same issue on my work PC (HP, win 10) which makes me believe that this is a windows 10 issue. I have tested with three different USB keyboards.
Troubleshooting so far: Energy settings for USB checked (USB selective suspend setting set to disabled)...

Aug 10, 2015My friend updated to windows 10. And now she can't sign in. It gets to the login screen and just stops there. Tried disconnecting from power source (including removing battery), then putting it back. Still nothing. The keyboard is un responsive.

The local Bluetooth adapter has failed in an undetermined manner and will not be used. The driver has been unloaded.
The only way currently around it is to unplug and replug the Bluetooth adapter.

Aug 30, 2015For some reason two finger scroll just stopped working even though it was working about an hour ago. Why it changed or what i did to change it. I tried entering the control panel, mouse, then synaptics settings, and enabling vertical scrolling, but that didn't seem to fix the problem.

Jan 1, 2016I have a Anitech P201RU keyboard and when I boot my PC the keyboard works fine until the login screen. I have tried turning on legacy in bios and turning it off and tried uninstalling the drivers. What I noticed is that when I go into device manager it shows a exclamation mark next to the usb composite device.

Aug 27, 2015I upgraded my Win 7 X64 Ultimate to Win 10 Pro X64 for free of course. I created a Windows 10 repair disk under Backup/Restore. I did the same when I first got Windows 7 years ago. Under Windows 7, I was able to boot the repair disk and easily restore a system image that I take nightly (overkill I know), over the years I used it several times without a problem when my system got screwed up.
I can boot the Windows 10 repair disk BUT it gets to choose a keyboard and I can't choose a keyboard because mouse/keyboard do NOT respond at all. It just basically freezes on that screen.
So I ask a few questions:
- Is there a better Windows 10 system repair disk I can download from somewhere to restore a Win 10 system image that I create nightly?
-- I tried a 3rd party Backup/Recovery product EaseUS Todo Backup, my Dell hard drive has 2 partitions (a dell MBR partition and the actual C drive), it backed up both partitions but that recovery disk didn't show both partitions to recover, only the MBR partition which was useless to me of course.
Is there a Simple backup software just to copy the C drive 1 partition where my windows system resides, have a recovery boot disk that boots (EaseUS boot disks booted by the way) and to restore just the C drive partition that works under Windows 10?

Nov 6, 2015ve just recently started having problems with keyboard input lag. Meaning, I will type and it will not register until a full second after I hit the key. I have re-installed java multiple times. Scanned my computer for harmfull virises, programs. Ive switched keyboards, and the problem still occurs.

Oct 14, 2015Today my keyboard stopped working, there was a usb error message pop up but i didn't realise what it was about, then then my k70 corsair keyboard stopped working, i tried restarting and doing an sfc scan but nothing changed, then i started looking into device manager but all the drivers were up to date so i tried reinstalling the HID keyboard driver but nothing changed, i then looked into the event viewer and found the issue (attached screenshot)

Jan 12, 2016This has happened a lot since my upgrade to Windows 10, and it's really starting to get on my nerves. Seemingly randomly, my keyboard will stop responding to what I type, and my touchpad completely stops as well (no, I did not accidentally click to disable it). These problems will never resolve themselves on their own, but as soon as I reset the computer everything works again - to me, that sounded like a driver crash, but nope! I checked the driver menu and it told me everything was running just fine. What's even more strange is that I have the backlight keyboard enabled so that when I type, it lights up. And strangely, the keys still light up when I press them, so I know it's registering my typing SOME how.
You would also think that this would be a software problem since it fixes immediately upon reset, but I've noticed that this issue seems to crop up a lot right after I have moved my computer..
In order to possibly do testing on what is causing this (I've tried everything I can think of) I am purposely not resetting my computer (this is a touch screen, but this on-screen keyboard typing is obnoxious). Currently, both keyboard and touchpad don't work, but a usb mouse I use does (the computer is also set so that using the usb mouse does not disable the touchpad).

Aug 25, 2015After installing windows 10 on my HP laptop PC, some keyboard keys have stopped working. The keys that don't work are: { 'escape' 'g' 'h' 'backspace' }. I am sure it is not a hardware problem because on occasion, all the keys that previously did not work, start working again. In fact, as I am typing this thread, my keys are working correctly. When they stop working, I try to uninstall or update the driver in device manager but that does not work. Keep in mind this started happening after installing Windows 10. I have not had this problem in Windows 8.1.

Mar 14, 2016The computer works great but is acting slightly strange and I think it can be fixed but I am still new to windows 10.I cannot sign-in to the desktop using the keyboard now. I am forced to use the touchscreen. The computer barely wants give me the touchscreen number pad on top of that. Is there something I can do to correct this? I would much rather use the keyboard again for this.
Also I keep getting what appears to be a volume control on the desktop (see photo). It appears on the desktop then disappears only to appear and disappear again later.

Jan 19, 2016I just recently updated. I then created a boot disk and performed a clean install. I use a Razor Black Widow Ultimate keyboard and a Logitech G9x laser mouse. I can reboot, I can shut down and restart and everything seems to work fine. But, after leaving the pc off all night and start in the morning I have no mouse or keyboard. This has happened Saturday morning, Sunday morning and yet again today. Fortunately, I have Acronis backup of my install, so when this happens I just re-image the hard drive and start searching for solutions again.
I have the latest Logitech mouse drivers and running Razor Synapse for keyboard software.
The latest thing I have done is disable fast boot but have not had it shut down long enough to see if it fixes the issue.

Nov 21, 2015I recently got rid of a cabled keyboard in favor of a smaller bluetooth keyboard (MS Mobile 6000). Everything is great except that now, I have a hard time putting my PC to sleep. In fact, it tends to wake up after 30 seconds or so. I'm pretty sure this is due to the BT keyboard.

Oct 14, 2015It all started when I installed Windows 10 on release day. (I was using windows 7 before). I downloaded mumble and then all my games and started playing with friends. After a while I noticed that my friends weren't responding to me I alt tabbed and realized my push to talk wasn't working (this goes for every voice program, the same thing happens the push to talk key stops working). In my Recording options the mic isn't disabled.When I go into recording devices after it stops working when I speak I do not see any green bars, when I go to steams voice test and nada, no green bars. To fix it I either go into Mumble settings and just hit 'apply' or I open up the mumble audio wizard and close it right away and my mic will work again along with push to talk. For some reason this makes my mic work again.
I've tried a fresh install of windows 10, I've tried different mics, different sound cards and the same thing keeps happening. Before I reformatted it got so bad it was happening every 2 minutes. Now it happens every couple of hours and progressively happening more often.To me it seems something is disabling my mic and doesn't re-enable it.

Sep 20, 2015I have a Logitech G502 Proteus Core mouse. It is connected to an Anker USB 3.0 Hub that works fine and has sufficient power for the mouse and all the other things connected to it. After I leave my mouse for a while, it stops working and also just recently stopped working when I was playing League of Legends. When it stops working, the lights still work but the sensor and buttons do not.

Dec 31, 2015A friend that has a 64 bit version of Windows 10. He likes Internet Explorer better than Edge. I have set Internet Explorer as the default browser. In the search bar I typed in Internet Explorer and put a link in the taskbar.
This works fine with my personal computer but on his computer it continuously has a message open that says Internet Explorer has stopped working. Wants you to close the box.
Here are the things I've done:
1, Went in to Internet Properties and reset Internet Explorer. I did this through the control panel. Reset everything. No success.
2. Went in to Windows Features. Unchecked and then rechecked the Box that lists Windows 11. Restarted the computer. That was
supposed to correct it. No success
3. Looked in Add/Remove programs and found no listing either in programs or windows updates.. Nothing.
If I do a system refresh will this correct the problem. I see I would have to reinstall Office 2010. Not sure my friend can find his copy. Is there not a way to just download Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows 10 and over right what is there.
Power Button Stops Working Until Restart
Aug 2, 2015I upgraded to Windows 10 from 7. Since the update I've run into an issue where, after I've been using my computer for a while and have done a few sleep/wake cycles, I won't be able to put my computer to sleep with the physical power button. It wakes up just fine with the power button. Restarting my computer temporarily resolves the issue.

Two behaving quite well, however one machine ABit IP35 Pro, 256 SSD, 1 TB hard drive, Nvidia 750 ti, 8 GB ram just intermittently just hangs up during operation. This is a very fast machine with a quad Intel Processor. This machine ran perfectly with all of same hardware on Win7 Pro. You can just move the cursor to send an email and we get the little blue circle and the machine is hung. It is not program dependant! Same thing can happen working in any browser.

Since the start menu doesn't work, that also means you can't access any of your programs (apps) OR the internet, via Edge.
After searching on Microsoft's site, it appears this problem has been around at least since August, but there don't appear to be any real fixes for it.
Networking :: After Upgrading PPPOE Connection Stops Internet From Working
Jan 11, 2016I did my upgrade quite shortly ago.Basically before that upgrade I had 2 connections at the same time: Local Area Connection with Ethernet and my PPPOE connection as advised by my provider.I've been using my PPPOE connection for years to sidestep some connection issues especially with uPnP, but now my internet only works through Ethernet and when I also start in my dial-up section the PPPOE connection, Windows 10 reports the "no internet connection" problem.After using "Troubleshoot problems" it resets the required parts and reports solving "Gateway is not available" problem.
1)I've already tried to reinstall all network drivers by deleting them first with device manager and through netcfg d in command line.
2)I don't know if it works but my BitDefender reports new adapters upon starting PPPOE: Teredo Tunneling and 6to4
3)I already tried to set Local Area Connection to Home and my other connection to Public and also all other possible permutations of settings
