own a sony vaio laptop and recently did a clean install of windows 10 on it, however I noticed that the volume was significantly lower than windows 8.1. My computer uses Realtek HD Audio.I tried installing drivers from Sony's as well as Realtek's website, however there is still no change.

I know you put in the OS disc before any driver discs that came with your hardware so I don't know if I can just do a clean install of windows 10 and then get my drivers or not.
View 1 RepliesDone the upgrade, then straight away done the clean install...very impressed...so far, everything working a treat, but alas not a sound from my speakers, device manager shows my budget Asus Xonar DGX sound card is working properly, my light on speakers lights up...but nothing, I've had speakers since windows 95, really miss them now, especially after a super clean install. I know the speakers might be at fault, but how can I check them?, I haven't got another computer, tried them with my Toshiba satellite Equuim but the sound come through their built in system.
View 6 RepliesI'm a student and my university has a subscription to Dreamspark, so I got a Win10 key, along with an ISO-file from there. I'm using a Lenovo G700 and trying to perform a clean install from a bootable USB-stick.
I have tried creating this USB-stick with the "Win7 USB DVD Download Tool", using different guides from the internet with NTFS and Fat32 filesystem, launching the setup normally and through UEFI, using the "Media Creation Tool" ([URL]) to create the USB-stick directly and downloading the ISO file first and creating a bootable USB-stick from that with all the methods above, but no matter which of these methods I use, I get the following error during installation:
"A media driver your computer needs is missing." (URL)
Unfortunatley, I am currently running Win7 Pro x64 on my laptop and the following page says, that the upgrade to Win10 only works from Win8.1, not Win7: [URL]
When I try to use the "Media Creation Tool" to instantly perform an upgrade, I get the following error:
"Something happened... 0x80070422 - 0x90016"
What drivers could the installation possibly be missing? I don't have any external devices plugged in, except for the bootable USB-stick, of course. I tried downloading all drivers for Win7 x64 and Win10 x64 from the Lenovo page ([URL])
I re-installed win10 on my ASUS Q302LA laptop after completely wiping the c: drive using Ubuntu. I installed Ubuntu in order to delete the "Old windows" folder, which apparently can only be done from windows if you have god or "trusted user" status, whatever the hell that is. After installing over Ubuntu using win10 from an iso optical disk, the usb ports and device manager no longer register my seagate external hdd. Now this is scary because the seagate is a "backup" drive and now it's useless. It's still good and works fine with my hp elite so nothing's lost, but the idea that were I not to have a second computer my data would be unaccessible by the very products supposedly designed to keep it safe. The touchscreen feature is also non-functional. I'm not sure whether this is a win10 problem or an ASUS driver problem specific to this computer.
View 1 RepliesLast time my wifi didnt work and eventually nothing, but I managed to do a clean install. Thereafter, with ASUSUTeK, I downloaded some drivers to bring back my internet.
So now I have internet and a fresh clean install, but my touchscreen(and sound too, but I want to focus on touchscreen first) wont work anymore at all. Also, the buttons like f5/f6 dont work anymore either
Things I already tried:
- Calibrating
- Looking in the Device Manager to update drivers.
The problem is, most websites say that I have to turn the ''HID compliant screen'' on and off, but I dont have that driver/thing at all in my device manager. I also cant find a download link on ASUS' drivers website to fix this.
After I upgraded from Win 8.1,
1. Ashampoo programs would not find my (Conexant SmartAudio 221) sound card - Ashampoo looking into this promising a fix after diagnostics - but for weeks now.
2. Audacity would not run beyond v 2.03 (which is reported by others on their forum).
That was 32 bits.
I tried a clean install, 64 bits, and to my surprise, no problem with Ashampoo progs or Audacity 2.1.1.
I'll be using my 32 bit installation whilst I slowly configure the 64 bit version for quite a while.
Other than clean booting, and trying to identify possible conflicts, is there any more specific area I could look at? I have quite a lot of multimedia programs installed.
How Can i Resolve It?? Bluetooth Constantly gives error 43 after Win10 upgrade & Clean Install....

After that I directly upgraded to Win 10 Pro within running system.
Are there any advantages to do now a clean Windows 10 installation?
What the heck is going on with the volume in Windows 10? Randomly, after unpausing the sound, the sound will be incredibly loud. As soon as I adjust the volume (even just pressing the sound increase or decrease button once) the sound volume goes back to being as loud as it should be. It is extremely frustrating when I pause and unpause and then cant hear because I am now deaf.

I found about 5-6 topics on google discussing this, but none of the solutions worked. I've tried reinstalling the driver, tried changing the frequencies, nothing works. I have a DELL laptop.

View 9 RepliesThe problem is that the volume of different sources of sound, for example YouTube, gets reduced if I turn another difference source of sound, for example League of Legends. So, once I play League of Legends, my YouTube music gets reduced. If I first run League and THEN YouTube, then YouTube gets reduced, if I first press PLAY on YT and then go to League, my League volume gets reduced.
I don't know what the hell is going on and I hate it. I have Windows 10 Pro and I have tried the "Do Nothing" option at sound settings. I have checked out every single tab on sound settings and nothing works.
This problem started once I installed W10, it worked fine on W7.
Okay, so I have a 3TB Seagate BUP BK External Harddrive, I recently partitioned it for some Ubuntu action. Problem is, I got rid of all the Ubuntu leftovers and now i'm not able to reunite the two parts on my HDD. However, I can do whatever the hell I want with the other two terabytes. I can partition, extend, and manipulate it however I want.
View 7 RepliesFor the first time I used headphones in Windows 10 Pro, and I found the normal Fn-F6 and Fn-F7 that adjust speaker volume do not work to adjust headphone volume - nor does the slider in the task tray. I can go into Control Panel and find the speakers and adjust them, and they are set as default. But it seems to me that in past versions (I came from Windows 7) when headphones were plugged in, the audio slider in task bar adjusted them - when headphones were not plugged in, it adjusted speaker volume. Do I have to go into Control Panel every time I want to tweak headphone volume? What am I missing?

Some days its there and its fine but other days I cant seem to locate it and going in and manually disabling it and re-enabling it does nothing. View 1 RepliesThe microphone on the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 is quite loud and sensitive, so I decrease the input volume by 30% in the recording devices menu, but regardless of disallowing access to it from other programs e.g. Skype, it always seems to change back up to 91% after awhile. I'll attach screenshots of the settings I've changed in Skype/recording devices. How would I completely prevent the volume readjusting itself?
