Drivers/Hardware :: Fan Spins Up When Turning On Headset?
Oct 31, 2015
as the title mentions I did a windows 10 refresh, mainly due to some random issues I was having. Since then everything has run smoothly, all previous issues resolved except for the fact that now every time I turn on my headset (Turtle Beach px5 - bluetooth connected via a bluetooth adapter) The fan speeds up just for a second, and will do the same when I turn the headset off. This is the same sort of very brief spin-up the fan has always done during a boot since first purchasing the pc. It has never spun up outside of booting the pc until just days ago when I refreshed windows 10.
My first guess was that there was a conflict and maybe one device was getting confused with another but the device manager shows no conflicts.
Ever since I upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10, I've been experiencing brief audio popping/cracking noise. Sometimes I could go an hour and not hear anything, other times I hear a pop every 30 seconds. There has to be sound playing for the popping to occur. Its brief, but can get annoying when listening to music.
I have tried many things including: -Updated drivers (Realtek HD Audio)(AMD GPU drivers)(Realtek Network Card) -Tried disabling Realtek HD Audio since it doesn't effect USB audio -I do not have a WiFi card so its not that -Its not a DPC Latency issue; No spikes from LatencyMon -Disabled sound enhancements from playback devices -Its not the headphones themselves as they work fine on other sources -I tried an old set of ear buds that weren't USB and they seemed to work fine so it may just be USB audio.
I do have a Dell XPS 435t/9000 that's about 4 years old with some hardware changes like PSU/GPU etc., maybe its the motherboard? (Though that's kind of a stretch). Dell says that certain computers don't support windows 10 upgrade, but I feel like that's just so they don't hold you responsible if you do upgrade, as everything else works perfectly.
I have a G35 headset and I plugged it in the back of my computer. Now, when I start Windows, its not detected until I re plug it in. Its only with this headset, nothing else too. The USB works because I re plug it in again and it detects again. My sound card is Realtek.
So I'm trying to get an external microphone (on a headset) working on my recently bought HP laptop (it's the Star Wars LE here), last night I was testing my headset but there is a really loud buzzing sound even when there's absolutely no interference in the room.
I've tried updating all drivers and even went and bought a new headset today for $40, so its definitely not the headset. In control panel I don't have Realtek Audio Manager (I did on my old laptop), but I have this "B & O Play" software which is a basic alternative. I've tried messing with those settings to no avail.
My older headset is one which has green and pink jacks, so I have a splitter for those, but my new headset has a combo jack so it connects directly.
Here's the weird part though, control panel > sound, whenever I talk into the mic on the headset, it actually comes through the "headphones" under sound:
But in recording, the microphone (which is seems to come through) doesn't have any kind of noise level, but if I disable it, the mic on the headset stops.
(The other mic available is the built in one for the camera).
I can get it to pair and says it is paired but it says it is disconnected in the playback and recording settings dialog box. Is it possible my devices are too old the Bluetooth dongle is BT2.0 and the headset is a MotorolaT225 hands free speakerphone for my cellphone which works fine. If they are then what headset does work with win10 out of the box?
I have headset Genius HS-500X and it has 2 seperate cables for audio and mic. The problem is that my laptop has only 1 jack with headphones and microphone icon, so it should be a combo jack. About 2 months ago I've bought an splitter [URL] , that has one cable red and one green so it should work. It's the same as in picture. But when I plug everything in correctly microphone is not working and headphones have reversed sound, when sound should come from left side it comes from right. I've tried to reinstall software (realtek) many times, also bought another one splitter, but no success.
I recently have been trying to download the windows 10 ISO with their media creation tool but when ever I start the download it just sits at 0% and spins. I have exhausted everything that I can think of for why it won't be working.
I have redownloaded the media creation tool. I have more than enough bandwidth. I have turned off my firewall and antivirus. Run the media creation tool as admin. Nothing
I am having an issue on my Inspiron 15 where my cooling fan doesnt always start up. For example, ill start up the laptop, and start web browsing or playing a game, and the fan will never turn on. I have had it overheat and shut off a few times. But if i restart the laptop manually (start>power>restart), it will spin up automatically as it should. But then after a few more restarts, i will have a session where the fan will never turn on. Right now my only solution, besides a restart, is to use the program Speedfan, and ramp the fans to 100%. My other Inspiron 15, running a Broadwell i7 and Windows 10, has no issues at all.
I upgraded from Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro yesterday and so far everything works great, the only problem is that my secondary HDD always stays on. I have a 128GB SSD as my main drive and an 750GB HDD as my secondary drive for games, pictures and stuff. Since the latter runs at 7200rpm and is quite loud and my laptop is otherwise pretty much completely silent (when I turn the fan on stealth mode) I had created a power profile for studying that turns off hard drives after 1 minute of not using them and with windows 7 that worked just fine.
Now though, my secondary HDD never turns off. I checked task manager and resource monitor and found that my pagefile was on my secondary so I moved that to my SSD, but now it still doesn't turn off, even when Task manager and resource manager tell me nothing has accessed it for several minutes.
Basic info: OS: Windows 10 Pro (x64)GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 270X TOXIC (Factory OC)Drivers: 15.10 Beta (Latest)
I have Sapphire Radeon R9 270X TOXIC graphics card in my system and everything has been running fine since I first put it in and installed Windows 8.1 onto my system (mind a few driver crashes that were resolved by mere reinstallation of drivers). Then I upgraded to Windows 10 very successfully (after two weeks of Windows 10 update not working properly, which was resolved right!)
Everything seems to work well on Windows 10, except for the fact that AMD's ZeroCore technology which my GPU has is just not working. When my PC is idle and/or when my screen is off my GPU should turn off, and that was so on Windows 8.1, but that does not happen in Windows 10 - my GPU stays constantly on. And to me it is just not know why that is.
TOXIC version of the 270X has LED-lit text on it saying "Sapphire" which turns on and off alongside the GPU. Now, whenever it turns on or off a "bzing" sound can be heard, which I suppose is normal, and when turning on the PC from cold state of off, it can turn on and off twice in 2 seconds; but that's normal and has been like so ever since I bought the card. That's just the LED text, fans don't turn on and off like that. Now, the reason I'm saying that is because when my screen is off and PC is inactive, when ZeroCore is supposed to kick in, I can hear that "bzing" sound happen, yet nothing turning on or off. As if the GPU wants to turn itself off, yet something, such as Windows system, is not letting it happen. Whilst my PC is inactive, I hear that sound every 5-10 minutes (didn't measure quite right, but that is about the period I feel it happens in, and that is also the time when ZeroCore is supposed to kick in) - as if the GPU is going to sleep "Heya, good night" and Windows 10 is just like "Nope, you ain't!"
Now, I assure you that my GPU works fine and there aren't any hardware damages. So, I suppose we should focus on the software side of things.
Ever since the upgrade to Windows 10, ZeroCore is not working; my GPU is not turning off when the screen is off. It used to work fine on Windows 8.1.
I edited the BIOS settings to try and enable my keyboard and mouse and wake my computer from sleep, however now I am having the problem that moving the mouse/using keyboard also turns on my computer when it is powered off.
Is there a way to get my computer to wake, by only click or typing any key (not moving mouse), but at the same time, keyboard and mouse not affecting anything while the PC is turned off (only being able to press the power button on the PC tower to turn it on from shutting it down)?
Here is a photo of my BIOS settings currently. When I have "Resume from S3/S4/S5 by USB Device" enabled, the computer turns on (from being shut down) by moving the mouse/clicking/hitting any key on the keyboard. When it is turned off, the mouse or keyboard don't do anything while the computer is off or asleep.
I'm having an issue with my system where, while my G430 USB headset is plugged into 1 of the 3(2x2.0 and 1x3.0) USB ports on the front of my case the other 2.0 USB doesn't not seem to work or rather Windows 10 PRO won't recognize my USB key(I've used tried multiple USB keys already). I hate having to disconnect my headset every damn time I'm sitting here waiting for a file to be copied onto my USB!
System: - WINDOWS 10 PRO - R1 ZALMAN (PC case) - MAXIMUS VII RANGER (Motherboard) - I7 4770K (CPU) - KELVIN S24 FRACTAL DESIGN (CPU COOLER) - ASUS R9 270X DirectCU2 TOP 2GB (GPU) ...etc.
Since I use Windows 10, my mic capture automatically lowers from 100% to 50% when I open games like The Crew and Blops 3. I have this with all my headsets so it's not that it changes because of a particular headset.
How can I prevent it from changing al the time, mostly it changes when I Alt+Tab in game to search something in Firefox. That makes my game go from Fullscreen to windowed, I don't know if that has anything to do with it but I really hate the fact that I have to stop playing games just to set my mic capture higher all the time.
I have the Hyperx Cloud II and the Logitech Z523. The headset is connected with and USB cable and the speakers use the normal 3.5mm jack. It's just annoying to go into playback devices and set it back to either one, so my question is that is there a faster way to do it? Also, I have windows 10...
After upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 my audio now plays through my headset and through my computers speakers.
FAQ: -Have you updated your drivers: Yes I have. -Have you set the headset as default device: Yes I have. -What audio do you have: Ok, I not sure which one I have, but I can find VIA HD and on Windows 8.1 (not on Windows 10) I use to have Realtek audio manager which I have now lost. -What headset do you have: Sennheiser G4ME ZERO.
I recently bought the g633 gaming headset of Logitech, I enjoyed it for a while until one day it decided to stop producing sound from the left speaker, which more of just being annoying also makes my left ear feel strange.
I enjoyed the amazing comfort and sound from this headset, it worked perfectly, the last time it worked was the first day of this year (2016), I was gaming at 3:00 am as I ussually do, felt tired and went to sleep. When I woke up it stopped working. I have tried all different sound types provided by the LGS and turning them off. I have tried the balance thing for volume and didn't work, except for the first time, it worked for a little until it decided to stop again.
The second time it worked was when Windows said something about an enhancement for my headset, this time it worked for something of an hour, but the same happened in the end. Lastly, the last time it worked was when I decided to uninstall the headset, and reinstall it, then reinstall the LGS, this time it worked for something of 7+ hours ans stopped again
My drivers and updates are up to date. I use the USB cable provided by Logitech. When I use the Jack the same happens, as well as in other devices, but by the fact that sometimes it works again I have hope. OS: Windows 10 home, 64X
Okay, so i finished upgrading to W10 now, and when i plug in my corsair h2100. A wireless headset, Windows keep alerting or something with this wierd sound. It sounds like "damalam" and it is a non stop sound.
The sound is the Windows 10 disconnecting sound. But that's weird. nothing is being disconnected by it self.

Solution : D-Link USB Hub is not currently W10 supported. That's why?
It really sucks how they took out the microphone option. It really bothers me how the headset doesn't respond when the mic actually works. It makes me think it is broken or not working. If there is any other way you can restore that.
For some reason out of nowhere my headset will disconnect, and videos stop working . My headset just disconnects, and videos are unable to play. Also, sometimes the shortcut bar will also stop working when this happens. Windows 10 ...
When I pair laptop and Bluetooth headphones Urbanears Plattan ADV , my WiFi connection is lost I have visible network in notification area but I can't connect : msg - "Can't connect to this network". I solve problem with restarting router but that's not good.
I'm trying to make the In-game sounds and every other system sounds sound in the speaker, and the Skype/TS/Raidcall (i'm using raidcall) in the headset but i don't know how to make it. I know i can make the Raidcall sound in the headset in the configurations, but i don't know how to make Windows (win10) and every other sound to sound in the speakers. I'm using the Realtek audio (Gigabyte Z97-Gaming 5 MOBO).
My pc has recently decided to start turning itself on in the middle of the night, while its supposed to be hibernating (I'm not sure yet if it is also affected during a normal shut-down). I also haven't managed to lock down the exact time (if there is one) that this happens.
From some digging I did, some people seemed to think that the task scheduler was doing things by itself. I identified two task that looked like they might fit the criteria (below) - are either of these likely to be causing the spontaneous turn-ons, and what's the safest way to resolve this?
I upgraded one of my systems to 10 the other day and ever since it won't stay off, it just turns itself back on every time I shut it down. It was a clean install, not an upgrade. Never had this issue before the upgrade.
I noticed we had updates automatically installed today. The next thing I noticed was that when working in Excel if I didn't move the mouse within one minute the display turned off. After trying a few other programs I realize that it turns off after a minute in almost all my programs or even when I'm just reading a newspaper. If this is something from the latest updates? I never experienced this before. In fact, it just turned off while I was mulling over this post.
I don't need that windows firewall as I have bitdefender total security when first installed bitdefender it shut down windows firewall and it keep off even after restart but SOME games after I run them and then restart windows firewall will turn itself on again how o stop it ?I shut it down from control panel but after running SOME GAMES it will turn itself on again it happened with only some kind of games .
