View 2 RepliesI installed windows 10 for my Asus laptop(which was running windows 8.1 pro and the mic worked perfectly) , and the microphone just doesn't work. I tried to install the latest win 10 drivers for Via, and that didn't work. Are there any fixes for this problem, or am I just out of luck?
View 1 RepliesI have a Centrios Desktop Microphone with a 6.4mm Jack. My Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E420 obviously doesn't have a 6.4 mm Audio Jack but it does have 1 Jack for both Audio and Microphones. I found an adapter from 6.4mm Female to 3.5mm Male. When i plug the Microphone into the adapter and the adapter into the Laptop it weirdly plays music out of the microphone and thinks it is a Speaker according to the control panel. I also have a splitter to make the 1 dual jack into two separate microphone and audio. I am not sure how to get the Desktop Microphone to work as a microphone. The Microphone will work on any other computer with a single microphone jack.
View 5 RepliesSo a few days ago I finished my new build, I went for for Win 10 with DirectX12 in mind. However, my mic does not work, neither through the front or back panel. The PC detects that an audio jack has been connected, detect the mic through both panels, but the mic itself does not pick out any voice. I tried reinstalling Realtek drivers, motherboard drivers, raising the level on Recording Devices and none worked. I'm using ASRock x99 Extreme3 Motherboard. Is there anything else that I can try? The mic works on my laptop and any other device, it's a Steel Series Syberia v2 Headset. Just updated Realtek Audio to 7720 v and still nothing.
View 9 RepliesSince installing Windows 10 my desktop will no longer recognise any external microphones, i've tested the microphonse elsewhere and they're working fine. The only place on my pc that will still recognise the microphone is Skype which only shows it in the settings in the form of the green bar moving; Echo and other skype calls will not read the mic.
View 1 RepliesSo I have had this microphone since August 2015, and it has now stopped working?
View 4 RepliesSo, after fruitless attempts at fixing the issue using other people threads I've decided to create my own.I'm one of those unlucky to be bugged by sound issues after an upgrade to Win10 from Win7. My Siberia v2 headset microphone doesn't work.
What I've tried:
1) Updating the VIA HD drivers, including the latest pack for Win10 (the one that marks your devices with (Win10)).
2) Lowering (and increasing) the bits and sampling rate
3) Installing the older drivers in compatibility mode. The one for Win7 gave me a blue screen and failed to install, Win 8.1 drivers made no difference, mic still didn't work.
4) Installing the generic Windows high definition audio device drivers. No difference.
The new driver pack from VIA still fails to set the correct device as default, enabling 'Headset' from the front panel which isn't even connected inside. Now, the 'speakers' option enables the audio playback, but microphone is still unresponsive. It behaves strangely, sometimes the volume indicator seems to be picking up noises, but it lasts only for a few moments after which there's nothing. Obviously, I've checked the micro on another PC and it works fine.
My Lifecam Cinema microphone worked fine in Windows 7 but in Windows 10, it's not working. The driver appears installed fine. I've tried upgrading it but I'm told that the currently installed driver is the latest.I chatted with a MS rep who told me to call MS but they just told me to go back to their site.
View 1 RepliesI have a combined mic and speakers jack and also a combined input, but my microphone isn't working. it's just using my pc mic.
View 2 RepliesMy laptop only has one combo audio/microphone jack, and I can't get the microphone to work at all. I just bought a new headset that came with an audio/microphone splitter specifically for the purpose of using it on this laptop. While the output works fine, the microphone input is absolutely ignored.
I am 100% positive this is an audio/microphone splitter (and not just an audio splitter) as it has 3 rings on the end of it (indicating that it is compatible with using a microphone), and one of the input jacks even has a microphone icon on it. Realtek Settings are nowhere to be found in Control Panel, and I couldn't seem to find anything in the system sound settings.
Is there a user friendly way to test an SSD HD? Have downloaded a few bits of software that give a load of numbers and no explanation of how bad the drive is?
View 9 RepliesI have a Dell Latitude E6520 running Windows 10 Pro x64. When I try to watch YouTube I get no audio. Spotify plays and gives no errors but doesn't have sound. When I plug in headphone sound plays but as communications headphones.
When I try to play a test sound through Speakers/Headphones I get an error that says "Failed to play test tone." When I try to troubleshoot it can't identify the problem. I have attached the report from troubleshooting.
I have an MXL 990 microphone (xlr), and a Line 6 Studio UX2. When I plugin my mic, I see in the pod farm software that I am getting signal, and enough volume. However, my system doesn't pickup any sound at all. I have set the correct device as a recording device, and it still doesn't work.
The Audio interface picks it up, but nothing else on my pc does. Skype, teamspeak, etc. Also, it worked fine before I got windows 10.
I updated my computer to Windows 10 Pro just few hours ago. I experienced some problems with the video drivers, but I solved them by updating the driver through nVidia GeForce Experience.
Now I have problems with my audio driver (which I think it is VIA HD Audio). My computer does not recognize my external microphone, only the internal one (which is not of the best quality). I looked for the drivers in the ASUS website, but I have found only outdated drivers for Windows 8. Then I saw the "sticky thread" on tenforums in this section and I tried to download the driver, but I do not want to mess up everything else as the site says:
Audio drivers available for download from the Realtek website are general drivers for our audio ICs, and may not offer the customizations made by your system/motherboard manufacturer. To be sure you obtain the full features/customizations provided in your original audio product, please download the latest drivers from your system/motherboard manufacturer's website.
So I'd like to find a good driver for my own PC (which is an ASUS G75).
In addition to it, it seems I have installed VIA HD Audio Control Panel, but I cannot access it because no window is shown when I start it.
I've been attempting to use applications like Teamspeak or Google Hangouts, but whenever I try to use the built-in microphone on my laptop, it doesn't work. It did work when I was using Windows 8.1. The "update driver" button only says that it's up to date.
EDIT: I have also found that the microphone appears to be turning on and off, stopping any audio when it's on.
The microphone on the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 is quite loud and sensitive, so I decrease the input volume by 30% in the recording devices menu, but regardless of disallowing access to it from other programs e.g. Skype, it always seems to change back up to 91% after awhile. I'll attach screenshots of the settings I've changed in Skype/recording devices. How would I completely prevent the volume readjusting itself?
View 1 RepliesRecently I purchased a Logitech h151 headset which has only one single jack, as my ASUS laptop has only one jack used for a headset. However, upon connecting the headset, although the sound plays through it perfectly and without issue, the microphone doesn't seem to work.
I've tried multiple solutions - I went to the Realtek Audio Manager to try and find advanced options, as I read that a possible fix to this is to go there and select an option to separate all input jacks. However, I cannot seem to find advanced options anywhere. I have also entered the Sound section in the control panel, and under the microphone section my external microphone was not detected, even after showing all disabled devices.
As for the Realtek Audio Manager issue, I read of several solutions to make advanced options pop up - from updating the driver to completely uninstalling it and such. As you can probably understand, I would rather not result to such things as messing with the drivers, as I am not a tech-savvy person and will not be able to claw out of a technical hole should I get into one.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, the internal mic is being used and can be detected (of course).
I can get it to pair and says it is paired but it says it is disconnected in the playback and recording settings dialog box. Is it possible my devices are too old the Bluetooth dongle is BT2.0 and the headset is a MotorolaT225 hands free speakerphone for my cellphone which works fine. If they are then what headset does work with win10 out of the box?
View 6 RepliesBasically when I try to record my voice all I hear is very strongly distorted sound, no speech is recognizable. I tried updating drivers, all mic settings I can think of but with no success.
When I open the Realtek manager and click the icon for playback on my mic settings the audio is crystal clear, and if possible I would like to have this instead of what is actually outputted. I dont know how to set that working
I clicked to "Listen to this device" and all I hear is VERY distorted sound, no speech is recognizable.
So from what I understand the mic is perfectly fine, the drivers should be fine but the quality that is outputted is terrible. Is there anyway to output what I hear from the playback on realtek?
Im attaching quick screenshot with some more explanation: [URL] ....
I use an ACER ASPIRE 4736Z laptop running on windows 10 32 bit OS. I have tried many versions of realtek and updated all my audio drivers but still i don't get the option studio quality for the microphone settings in realtek audio manager. Instead i get only CD and DVD quality options. This doesn't work as I always get a hiss when I record using my microphone. I have adjusted the microphone settings in the control panel as well. Need getting the studio quality option for the microphone in realtek audio manager. Find the attached image
View 8 RepliesWhenever I'm trying to change my sound default format my speakers won't work, and whenever I press test (next to the format) it is showing me this error text: Failed to play test tone. Nomatter what i do (restore defaults, change input, even reset the whole pc etc.) the speakers won't work. They only work after occasional start-ups.Though i would really like to have a better sound format and I've been having this problem for a week now(since i re-installed my synapse cause it wouldn't open).By the way I'm using a realtek onboard sound card(but I have the same problem on my usb ports too).
View 1 RepliesMy system had 2 blue screen the past few weeks, so I decided to try to check for eventual hardware and software problems, I started by running a stress test with ROG realbench since my CPU is overclocked, it gave me an error already(program stopped working), so after doing more tweaking(increasing voltage), then I finally put back the default speed because it wouldn't even start, although at the beginning it crashed right away when I clicked start, and after putting more voltage, it starts and works for a bit and then the PC just hangs, and it still does it at stock speed.. which is quite weird ! it also did it with cinebench, but the strange things is I played numerous hours of starcraft 2 without problem, also I wasn't doing anything when the blue screens happened.
I ran a windows memory test, no errors detected (haven't ran memtest though..) I also did a sfc /scannow and it didn't detected anything wrong.. I'm starting to think it's more related to windows than hardware.
I'll put a screenshot of the past blue screens :
I updated my computer to windows 10. when I upgraded and played audio, video on local computer or on any website. I could not hear music/ sound. when I play audio file through Windows Media Player, I get following error.
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly."
And when I play audio file using Groove Music. Can't play. We can' find an audio device for your PC Make sure headphones aor speakers are connected. For more infor search your PC for "Manage audio device".
0xc00d36fa ( 0xc00d36fa) |Close| (button).
When I go to manage audio device. I play test tone. and get message box saying that "failed to play test tone".
have a problem with usb drivers according to my control panel which says it is fixing the issue and then tells me to reboot but it is not fixed. Keyboard lights up on start but when the first blue window appears it goes off. I can get into the bios ok and the keyboard works there. only one port is working (USB3). as my mouse and keyboard are usb and there is no PS2 port i am kinda cactus at the moment. Been searching for usb drivers for win 10 but not having any luck. Everything was working fine since November until yesterday.
View 2 RepliesAfter upgrade from 7 to 10 my 2 brother printers were visible and apparently ready. The HL2270DW would not print - just spooled forever but the MFCJ825DW worked. I tried using the Brother uninstall tool to remove the laser driver then installed the W8.1 package for it. Would not install. So I wondered if the other printer was to blame and removed it as well and re-installed. I have done this many times now getting progressively more thorough including removing all mentions of Brother drivers using Devices and Printers interface, uninstalling in Device Manager installing in a different order and as administrator, removing folders left over etc. The result is always the same. I can get one of them installed but attempting to print gives the error Driver not installed - do you want to install? Click through, install via windows process but it fails anyway.
View 2 RepliesI just got this laptop (Dell Vostro 3558 i3), a few days ago i upgraded to windows 10 using the media creation tool. After the upgrade, the touch pad works but I cannot scroll. I have tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them. When I upgraded there was nothing listed that went along the lines of synaptics in the control panel (uninstall).
I have tried installing the drivers of windows 10 and windows 7 from the dell website, what happens is quite weird, the installer says it installs without any errors but nothing happens, there is no synaptics program listed in the control panel.
Excuse me if I left any important details out but it is the first time that i have come across this issue and don't know what info I should give. I should also note that before I upgraded the touch pad worked along with the program of the drivers, now all I get is the usual mouse options and in device manager it recognizes it as a P/S2 mouse.
