View 2 RepliesDo I need to reinstall my drivers after resetting my PC?
View 3 Replieswhy my print spooler keeps shutting off since i loaded W10. I have a HP ENVY and have tried to run both printers that worked prior to the install. Both work on the other laptop that isnt running W10.
View 3 RepliesJust upgraded but now my second monitor isn't working and when i go to update my driver i get this
View 8 RepliesSo I tried to update from Windows 8 to 10 last week. That didn't work for me, so I had to format everything and install Windows 10 afterwards. At first neither W-LAN nor LAN would work. Then I un- & reinstalled the W-LAN driver so now everything's fine except for my ethernet connection.
- Adapter is enabled
- I have un- & reinstalled the driver multiple times (even tried compatability mode, since some sites state that the latest version for AR8161 only supports win 8)
- I was about a thousand times in the properties menu of the ethernet adapter
The full name of the adapter is "Qualcomm Atheros AR8161 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30)"
I just ran diagnostics on the ethernet adapter and after trying to fix some network protocols Windows prompted me with this. So I tried to fix this by entering
Code:
Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
Code:
sfc /scannow
Code:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Code:
sfc /scannow
In cmd which sadly didn't do the trick. Neither did entering
Code:
netsh int ip reset c:
esetlog.txt
in cmd (admin ofc) after editing the permissions for the "26" folder in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Nsi/{eb004a00-9b1a-11d4-9123-0050047759bc}
So the group "everyone" has "full control".
I am still stuck here w/ the "One or more network protocols are missing on this computer" -problem.
Need to install a printer driver from a cd but have a message : action blocked and have to contact admin. i m the admin and. the pilote is not on Samsung web site. how can unblock the config of win. 10 to be able to insall the driver.
View 1 RepliesThis is not exactly win 10 specific question, i had same problem in win 7, but now that i'm on win 10, that problem is still there. Here's what's going on:
I have high-end gaming PC with GTX 980 and 4k monitor and 1080p monitor as secondary.
4k Monitor is connected via DisplayPort and other monitor is using HDMI
Both of those monitors have built-in speakers (actually i don't think 1080p monitor has speakers)
But here's the problem, windows 10 keeps automatically installing HDMI audio drivers and 50% of the time when i boot my system, all my software defaults to the stupid HDMI sound.
This is extremely annoying and i'm about to pull my hair out over this. All my media players default to monitor audio, even tho windows does not select it as "default device".
Also even tho other monitor doesn't have speakers, system still thinks that the monitor has speakers and sets it as audio device.
Also when i record gameplays using shadowplay or other recorder, lot of times there's no audio on videos, because screen recorders also default to that dumb hdmi audio. I can't be bothered to check audio every time i do something.
I really need a way to tell windows 10 to STOP doing that. Here's what i've done so far:
1. under playback devices, i have DISABLED both of the monitors as playback devices.
2. I have tried uninstalling + disabling drivers for both monitors in "device manager"
3. i used local group policy to force windows not to install drivers (gpedit.msc > administrative templates > system > device installation), then i grabbed the group ID from device manager and entered it there to prevent windows from installing drivers for any audio groups.
After step 3, drivers were not installed, but windows still shows both monitors in "playback devices", only difference is that in device manager it says that this device does not have drivers installed, but they're still showing up in "playback devices", therefore all my software is STILL able to use them as playback and some of my software, like winamp, still defaults to them.
Forgot to mention, that if I disable both of them in playback devices, windows automatically re-enables them at some point. probably at boot, but i can't be bothered to check every few seconds, i just want windows to STOP trying to tell me what's best, i like my Asus STRIX 7.1 headset + 7.1 Hi-Fi home theater speaker system, i don't need some tiny jurassic stereo speakers lol.
I want to punch whoever made this feature. I mean .. what kind of an caveman would buy high-end gaming PC with GTX 980 + 4k monitor and NOT have a proper sound card + headset? Did those low-brainers in microsoft seriously think that anyone using high-end gaming PC, would like to use HDMI as primary audio? that's just ridiculous!
I think my only option is to force windows to think that i'm not using HDMI so it won't even detect my monitors as audio devices, is that possible.
I've repeatedly attempted this, but always get "An error occurred during setup. Restart your computer, then run setup again". This is an all too typical message you can find associated with many Epson products.
I've tried:
-Clean boot
-Safe mode (install enabled)
-Using an Epson removal tool I finally obtained after my 5th chat with Epson.
-An Epson fix deleting temp folder and looking for setup.exe that never appeared.
-Manually removing all Epson folders and registry entries I can find.
-Disabling firewall and AV
The same CD installed ok on my 6 year-old laptop (both run Windows x64).
I've run SFC /Scannow - ok
At best, the scanner is recognised as being connected when plugged in, and appears with a yellow trangle under 'Other Devices' in Device Manager.
I'm been having issues a long time with different sorts of BSOD's but I've been able to cook it down to this last one after replacing both graphics card and Logitech headset.
Latest error which occuring at least once per day:
The driver DriverWudfRd failed to load for the device SWDWPDBUSENUM{01539fd4-4f12-11e4-824c-806e6f6e6963}#00000000007E0000.
After installing build 10074 followed by Windows Update, I got the following report, "ELAN DRIVER UPDATE FOR ELAN INPUT DEVICE FAILED - ERROR CODE 0x80070103"
View 1 RepliesI've bought a Huawei E3372h modem (with GTmobile simcard) but it doesn't connect. The modem says 'connected' and does recieve/sent KB's but on the window toolbar network logo says 'no internet connection' (yellow triangle mark).

I am using a Lenovo think Centre M57 pc, I installed the new Windows 10 operating system and like it very much, however my Huawei E352 Modem is not working on this operating system but it works perfectly in Windows 7. In Windows 10 it is being picked up as a Memory Stick but not a modem and therefore I can not connect either to the internet. I presume it must be a driver of some sort? If so, where can i download this driver that is needed?
View 9 Repliesi cannot connect to PPPoE connection through my modem. when i give username and password provide by ISP, it says cannot connect user nameor password is wrong, but i given correct username and password.
View 4 RepliesBought a new PC with Windows 10 already installed, but have not been able to install a printer in the couple of weeks that I've had it. The print spooler will not start will not start manually or automatically when I try to get it going from the Admin account. Every attempt to install the (HP) printer software ends with Error Code 1722 (Failed to add port monitor to HP discovery port monitor). When I try to start the print spooler, I'm getting error 0x800706b9 (Not enough resources are available to complete this operation). When attempting to check Windows 10 updates, I get error 0x80080005. I'm not sure if I have an issue with my registry or what is going on with this brand new PC and Printer.
View 9 RepliesIn windows update i have on 3 occasions over 2 days where it says upgrade failed. got me puzzled. i have all the updates
View 5 RepliesI have been trying to install the Windows 10 upgrade to no avail .
I am running windows 7 home premium x-64 on a Gateway NV78 laptop.
Things I have already tried range from deleting programs and device drivers to reinstalling the updater. Have run a clean boot and ran from the updater, the build. a startup disk, and from a usb flash drive. I have deleted my printer drivers, virus software, and cleaners.
So now after continuously getting about 8-9 BSOD's back to back while connecting my phone as usb modem , it has started to bother me too much
It occurs only after i connect my 3g phone as an internet modem.
I have included the dump files using dm_log_collector

I've got a big problem win my Win10. Every time i install 10 it has no internet connection, it shows that none connections are available and tells "Modem has reported an error (error 651). Everything is working well on Win7. I tried many things to fix it but nothing seems to work.
My network card is Qualcomm Atheros AR8171, and modem is some TPLink
Yesterday I relocated our Wireless Modem to a cooler room. We live in the Philippines so these devices can get quite warm...After relocating and hooking up all the wires, cables etc. My wife's computer a Dell, would not connect to the Wireless modem. I checked and replaced all wires with new ones, and rechecked the connections, everything was okay...I use a MAC which is still working fine, and connected right away, so I know the Signal is getting out. I did the "ping" command and it is not going thru. Tried everything I know, cannot get her wireless to work. I have a Red X on her adapter, in the Network Connections dialog box, "Not Connected"...Her system uses a Broadcom 802.11n adapter, which I replaced just recently...When I registered I added all the Dell system info, CPU info etc..
View 1 RepliesI'm sure there's enough variables that this could be some combo of software and stuff I have (I never use OneDrive - close it? I use Dashlane - it had Win10 issues, later resolved.) -- but does anyone walk away from their PC, come back and find online (cable modem/Ethernet in my case) - just stops working, in everything? Evernote, Firefox, Outlook, etc.?) Programs are fine (well, Outlook freezes in mid send/receive but...) but the online access is gone? And the only fix usually is a reboot?
Never happened in Win 8.1. Happens about once a day in Win10. Reboot fixes. Network troubleshooter finds nothing. If it didn't come back after reboot I'd be desperate, as it is ... I can live with it if I have to but... was hoping one of these "cumulative updates" would work but... doesn't seem to happen when I'm working, only if I stop a bit. Got a clue that doesn't involve powershell "fun" or registry/deep file mucking?
I have a USB port on my motherboard that never worked. I had the problem with Windows 7 complaining about it, but something I did got Windows 7 to be quiet.
Now I have Windows 10.
Action Center is popping a steady stream - and I do mean steady - of "USB device not recognized."
Device Manager refreshes so often it is hard to right click on things because of the refreshing.
The item is listed as "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)." It alternates between these 2 error messages.
Device status: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
A request for the USB device descriptor failed.
Device status: Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)
To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.
A request for the USB device descriptor failed.
Here is my USB list:
Universal Serial Bus controllers
Intel(R) ICH10 Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 3A3A
Intel(R) ICH10 Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 3A3C
Intel(R) ICH10 Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 3A34
[Code] .....
Things I have tried:
-I am using regular boot. I am not using quick boot.
-I have disabled the driver.
-I have uninstalled the driver.
-I have uninstalled all of the host controllers above and allowed them to reinstall.
-I have manually reinstalled all of the host controllers' drivers above (by using the default driver).
-I have turned off the PC and unplugged it.
Annoyance reduction:
In Sound, I have set Device Connect and Device Disconnect to no sound.
I have tried turning off Action Center notifications for all apps, but don't like doing that because that also prevents other notifications that I do want. Also, when I do that the old gray symbol for a device connection problem starts showing up in the notification area.
I have tried turning off Action Center notifications for all apps and then turning it right back on. The problem goes away for a few minutes.
I have a USB device (X.Vision PCDVB-3100) It work properly in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 But now in Windows 10 when I connect it to USB port, The Windows give me this error:
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) A request for the USB device descriptor failed.
How I can solve this problem?
if i try to install the latest windows 10 driver it says it fails, then if i try to uninstall my current ones it says it fails as well. what am i supposed to do, my other display wont get recognized and my main display is not running at 1080p.
View 1 RepliesI convinced my friend to upgrade to windows 10 on his laptop and it failed leaving it screwed.
The laptop is based on a Clevo W350ET chassis.
When you turn it on it goes to a screen saying 'Recovery Your PC/Device needs to be repaired, A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed, Error code 0xc000000f'.
Any options like revert to a previous built, system restore or whatever do not work.
Any chance of saving the current install or will I have to reinstall everything? My friend has old programs he is concerned he cannot get anymore.
My win-10 computed downloaded the update files yesterday. But the installation has failed.
View 2 RepliesFresh install of Windows 10 and the last driver I need to sort out is the above.
I believe it is my powered USB 3 hub to which I plug in my keyboard and mouse. Technically it is working but I don't like seeing yellow triangles on devices.
