View 1 RepliesIn windows 7, when headphones were plugged into the jack on the front of the machine it would automatically switch to the headphones and mute the speakers. If you unplugged them, it would enable the speakers. How would I go about enabling this on Windows 10?
View 2 RepliesSince I was wiping a PC anyway, I've installed W10pro x64 to decide if it could work.
Obstacle #1: I need to allocate a mouse button to switch between touch mode and desktop (wimp style) mode. What is the keyboard shortcut to bind for this? Or is there a script I could set the mouse button to launch if there is no keyboard shortcut available yet?
Obstacle #2: Persuade Logitech to make 4 finger swipe up switch to/from touch mode on the T650.
I'm using 2 languages to type. Mostly English but when chatting to my parents in Skype for example, I switch to Bulgarian (Cyrillic Alphabet) keyboard input.
Back in Windows 7 if I was to open an application (Skype for example) and switch to Bulgarian keyboard I could type in Bulgarian, but if I was to open a web browser for example, thus minimizing Skype, I would continue to type in English without the need to switch between languages. Simply put Windows 7 would remember what language input I have switched to in a certain application and would automatically switch to it.
Now since installing Windows 10 every time I switch to Bulgarian, the input for every single application changes to Bulgarian, and if I was to switch back to English then they all change to English input.
So... is there an option somewhere to prevent this from happening?
How do you make Edge display the contents of a new tab that you have downloaded by right clicking link?
The tab is there after the right click but do I have to click on the tab, or can I set it to open automatically, if so How?
So my laptop was purchased in China which came with authentic windows 8.1. I recently upgraded to windows 10 through official pop up notification. However after trying all means I couldn't alter the display language. In the settings-region and language-language-add a language/I am able to add any language in here but when I click options in one of the added language, there's no option of "download language pack" as many tutorials on internet.I have tried under English (United Kingdom) "set language as primary" but after restart, nothing's changed . Still display Chinese.
In control panel-add a language-options-windows display language/Again there's no option of setting a new language as display language, it says under windows display language "not available in this version of Windows" (something like this, I did the translation).I can add or change input keyboard without problem. The version of windows currently in my laptop is "Windows 10 Home Chinese Version" (something like this, again I did the translation). Is this the reason I can't change display language?
In build 10240 I can download a Danish language pack in Settings. However I can't set it as primary... How to do this?
View 5 RepliesAs you can see on screen, I changed language from German to Slovak ,but not all text have changed.
View 3 RepliesDuring installing W10, I clicked the wrong language, making some squares in Start Menu are labelled with language which I cannot read.
How do I change to the right language?
I bought a new laptop here in japan
But Cant change my language to english
Also cant download language pack
For some reason my computer installed windows 10 in Korean. Luckily I can understand a bit of Korean but I have tried changing all the location and language and keyboard settings back to english but everything still remains in Korean. It even says the main language is Korean. My usb that allows me to connect to the internet isn't working with windows 10 atm so I haven't got internet on my pc. I've tried all the settings on my pc and changed everything possible back to English but all remains in Korean. Not sure if I'm missing anything but it just wont work.
I tried making English the default language to use when going Settings -> Language and Time -> changing English to be my default. I also went into system locale and changed it to English but nothing. I tried restartng and signing out of my account and my pc several times. It shows Korean on the start screen too.

Apparently cortana wont work unless i change to English US rather as uk, how do i do this...
View 1 RepliesI was wondering how you change the language in the start up? Like when the computer is shutting down/turning on, when you wake it up from sleep and enter a PIN, etc.
When I was picking the language in the initial start up, I accidentally chose French because the touchpad was really grippy. I've changed the language back to English for when I'm actually using the computer, but the start up and lock screens are still in French.
is there anyway to get a language pack for windows 10 to change the language back to English? I was able to manually download a language pack but I wasn't able to install it through CMD. I haven't bought the Windows 10 pro to change it for me, but was wondering if I am able to change it manually on the current version of Win 10
View 5 RepliesWhen I change the input language, it is changed for the whole system, i.e. all apps, Office, browsers, etc. In Windows 7 it used to change only for the specific app which is active on the display, i.e. the language for the rest remained the same. Is there a way for Windows 10 to behave like Windows 7 in this respect?
View 2 RepliesSo changing the system language should be as easy as settings>region&language>Download the preferred language
Now:
In doing so, my system did change from Russian to English, although not properly. Most objects are English as you'd expect after the change, but some system elements are still Russian. For example, grayed out text in textboxes (The explanation of what you should type) is still Russian. Also, the date & time on the lock screen is still Russian. Also, the "windows is waiting for apps to close" when shutting down, is Russian, both text and buttons. Is this a windows10 flaw?
Here is the problem I have experienced for the on-screen keyboard (with or without tablet mode),
- When the on-screen keyboard comes up, the windows will not automatically resize to make way. The Keyboard will end up covering the window. (In Windows 8.1, all windows will resize.) (In Windows 10, only Store App and Microsoft Edge knows how to resize.)
my laptop was delivered in my native language, Dutch. However, I always work in English and prefer that the Display language is also English. My start Menu says " instellingen" and not " Setteings".I followed the instructions added a language in the settings menu Region & Language set the language as defailt, logged out and logged in..Nothing changed Restarting has no result also.Might it be that HOME versions don't have the Change Dipslay Language option?
View 5 RepliesMy password for my Microsoft account is in English and I cant change the language for greek !!!And there is not possible to make the password greek.I cant use my computer!!!
View 1 RepliesInstalled a chinese application earlier called Kuwo Music Player. I have been using this particular application for quite some time and today is the first occasion where I decided to give it a go on Windows 10 too. Then came the problem, I realised that the settings to change the system locale ( this is necessary otherwise the chinese characters cannot be displayed) is no longer where it was in Windows 7/8. I too couldn't find any useful results on the Internet. where I can find and change that setting, or any other working solution would do.
View 1 RepliesIs it possible to change region and language to enable Cortana on PCs as on Windows Phone?
View 1 RepliesI'm using an english windows 10 with hungarian keyboard. Not even complicated, right? My location is set to Slovakia and my problem is that the date on my lock screen is in slovak and if I install anything with "use my default language" language option it's installed in slovak. My question is: Is there any way to change the default language without changing my location?
View 1 RepliesMy default configuration is powered speakers connected via the optical output on the ZXR. So in control panel, the S/PDIF is my default device. I'd like to be able to also switch to headphones without having to change control panel sound settings. Is there a configuration that enables me to do this? It seems as if I can't have the s/pdif output my default if I want to use headphones. I'm on Windows 10 with latest software updates.I switched to using the analog outs from the ZXR and not taking advantage of the D/A converters built into my powered speakers (Vanatoo). Not the optimal situation, but it allows me to switch from speakers to headphones without having to go through Control Panel gyrations.
View 1 RepliesI used to run this program from my windows XP and through windows 8.1. It is an English-Italian dictionary from Zanichelli called Ragazzini version 2003.
Before windows 10, In order to NOT have the original cd always in my drive I did an image with daemon tools, and run it from a virtual drive. Now with windows 10 i cannot run it from the ORIGINAL cdrom, and i cannot create a virtual SCSI drive with daemon tools.
