When I click on my "Documents" (formerly "My Documents") folder in Windows 10, it appears to be taking a long time to download the files that are contained within it.

I know there are several threads by this name, but my problem, as far as I know, is quite peculiar and I haven't seen anything similar to this in any thread. Yesterday I did a clean install (actually I wiped the whole hard drive and converted it to MBR since it was in GPT and Windows wasn't letting me install it on GPT filesystem) of Windows 10, and installed all the necessary drivers and the basic essentials. I don't know exactly when but after I was done doing some housekeeping, my Windows started taking too long to boot. What happens is that it shows the Windows loading screen (like in the image attached), does the boot animation for about 5-10 seconds, then blinks the screen momentarily, and then shows the Boot animation screen again. But this time, the loading circle animation is really choppy and the pixels seem to be slightly blown out. Then it takes a good 1-2 mins at that screen and then shows the blue screen with loading animation, shows it for another 15-20 seconds and then shows the Login screen.

Ever since I upgraded to Windows 10 it takes HOURS to transfer even small files from my camera's SD card to the computer's hard drive via the built-in card reader.
The "speed" meter barely goes above 300 KBS per second.
It is a SanDisk 32GB extreme card.

Is it only me or has Microsoft removed this bubble, which always popped up when you could eject a device? In Windows 10 I never see it. This makes the Safe Eject function hard to use - I never know, whether I now can unplug the device or if I can't.
When the device is used currently, then there is an according error message - which is absolutely fine.
But when there is no such error, I am left back clueless as to whether ejecting now worked or if it just did not work. It would be great, to at least get any feedback then...
Has the "You can unplug now" notice been removed? Or is this some kind of bug, which only I am having?

I'm having this issue since I upgraded to Win 10: when I click restart, my laptop becomes stuck on the restart screen for ages, even the hard drive doesn't show any signs of activity. Its only after like 15 mins or so the hard drive comes into life and the computer turns off. What could be causing this?Normal shut down and hibernate aren't affected.

I did a clean install to Windows 10 on my new computer on Feb. 12. I also installed Office 2016 at that time. Since then there were a few updates on that day, Feb 12 and two or more on Feb 14th. and then nothing. And nothing at all for Office 2016. Am I missing something or have updates really slowed down.

I downloaded the Windows 10 Technical Preview build 10041 yesterday and have just started the installation today. It's been already two and a half hours and I'm currently at 23% overall completion. The setting up process is at 78% and I'm getting impatient. Is this how long it usually takes? Should I restart my PC?

So, I've encountered this issue lately where Windows 10 takes considerably longer to boot than before. (Usually 4 to 5 minutes) It used to boot under 30 seconds before so I don't know what went wrong here.
So, the screen with the Windows logo and loading circle disappears quickly but then it hangs after when a black screen appears with nothing but the mouse cursor(Which can be moved around.) This is the infact main problem, the black screen remains for quite a time before the user screen appears then the desktop. What can cause this problem? Can it be an update, as I never had this issue before neither with Windows 8?

I have a strange problem where my PC would idle and take a long time for the Contextual Menu to show up when I Right Click on a blank space on the Desktop. It literally take about 10 - 15 seconds for the Menu to show up.
After that it is fast again. Then after awhile it does it again. I don't know what the problem is. I try to do a Clean install of Windows 10 Pro. Wipe everything clean and install it on a 256GB Samsung Pro SSD, and it still does it. There is barely anything on the Contextual Menu so I don't know what the problem is.
Here is my PC Spec.
Intel i7 3.2Ghz
12GB DDR3 12GB RAM
Nvidia 770 GTX
Corsair Liquid Cool
Corsair 850 HX Power Supply
256GB SSD Drive
3TB Hitachi Touro External Drive USB 3.0
Currently I only have a few essential programs install on my PC so don't think it is causing it.
1.) Adobe Master Collection CS6
2.) Microsoft Office 2013
3.) Google Chrome
4.) BitTorrent Por
5.) Skype Desktop
6.) Samsung Magician Software
7.) ShellFolder Fix x64

I recently upgraded one of my laptops from Win7 Pro to Win10 Pro. Ever since then it has been taking a much longer time for the laptop to connect to either of my home networks (two different homes). This is with either WiFi or Ethernet.
When it was running Win7 it would connect to either home's network in a few seconds. Now it usually takes over a minute, as much as two minutes. Once it does connect everything works fine.

I've done the settings for the time & date. However, no matter how wide I make the Taskbar, the short form continues to be shown. In Windows 7, when the Taskbar was widened, the long form would be shown. Is there something I need to do here? Or is this yet another bug?

Since updating (free, via download) from Win 7 to Win 10 I have had a few problems. I have 3 internal HD: (1) System drive (SSD, 500GB), (2), Media Drive (Seagate 3TB), (3) Documents Drive (500 GB). I also have a USB backup drive that the computer can see.
Seemingly at random, but more usually the Media Drive, doesn't appear when I boot the computer. If I boot the computer and go to BIOS all of the drives appear. Currently the computer in "this PC" recognizes 1 and 3.
Additionally it takes around 5-10 minutes to boot, sometimes hangs and has to be hard reset.
I have had a few BSOD as well, at seemingly odd times. The computer will run with the drives it sees fairly well and eventually BSOD. I should note that sometimes the BSOD is not the one I'm used to from previous Windows installs - it's really just blue with no info.
I have physically reordered the SATA cables (changed the drives to different cables) and this works for a time but eventually the problem persists.
Finally, I thought about doing a clean system install, but was wondering how you do that if you upgraded via free download (i.e. I don't have a disk - there must be an easy solution for that I am sure).

Started with a dual boot Windows 7 pro / XP HP Elite 8300. Upgraded Windows 7 to 10 and now it seems to take forever for the boot menu to show up. I can hit restart, it shuts down then just sits there doing nothing for several minutes. No hard drive activity, no video just the power light. Then it looks like it reboots and finally displays the boot menu.
With Windows 7 it went through the normal boot process and displayed the boot menu without the dead-in-the-water pause.

It takes Windows 10 about 8 minutes to boot from the time it reaches the BIOS screen. What's keep it from booting normally?

Previously if I double clicked the shortcuts of Steam, Origin and Uplay while they were running instantly maximized their windows. Now if I double click them it takes a long time before they are maximized as if the computer is reloading them from scratch. I also have GOG Galaxy as a shortcut but it does not happen with that icon. What do you think changed?
The only thing that IO think might be related is that I disabled indexing of C drive but I later found that it was not a good idea and changed it back to indexing enabled.

I am attempting to install W10 through USB drive. However as I go through the setup steps, at some point the mouse will start lagging and the setup goes stuck. I don't know if it's a memory problem since I have 3gb of RAM. However if the PC is turned off for a long time the setup tends to continue longer though eventually it goes stuck.

I have Win 10 updates set to "Notify to Schedule Restart". Will it ask me to confirm before it restarts (since it seems to schedule them about 3:00 a.m. when I'm asleep). I'd rather my computer not reboot without my ok.
