Aug 8, 2015how to eliminate the lock screen preview and bypass the 'Sign In' button on the lock screen?I often put my computer to sleep then to bring it back (in Windows 7) I would simply hit the space bar and turn on my mouse and it would go straight to my desktop. Now, I hit the space bar turn on my mouse, and it takes me to the lock screen preview then I hit the space bar and it takes me to a lock screen where I have to click 'Sign In' even though I have no password set.
I'm guessing I'll no longer be able to hit the spacebar, turn on my mouse and go directly to the desktop but if I can hit the spacebar, turn on the mouse, then hit the space bar one last time, that would be satisfactory.
Stuck In Loop Flashing Between Lock Screen And Gray Loading Screen
Aug 24, 2015I upgraded to Win 10 on Friday, and since, despite several resetting PC attempts, Win 10 will not load to the login screen. Instead, it is stuck on a loop flashing between the lock screen and a gray loading screen quickly back to the lock screen -- instead of loading to the login screen. This only happens when I attempt to restart or update my PC. If I go to the lock screen because I locked my PC or it fell asleep, I can unlock it. I have also attempted to reset my PC to the previous build, to no avail. I have no restore points.

Dec 19, 2015Since the latest update (It introduced the slide show of pictures on the lock screen. I think it is KB3124200) I haven't been able to press Enter or Space or any other key for that matter to "slide up" the lock screen photo to get to the password screen. I've looked through the lock screen settings, but I see nothing that could prevent this.

Aug 12, 2015I upgraded from Windows 8 to 10 without a hitch an hour ago and kept all of my personal files and apps. I set up my start menu and everything was working fine, but I wanted to change the image on the logon screen (or whatever you call the screen in between the lock screen and the screen where you enter your PIN/info). So I took a risk and downloaded the 3rd party app here:
[URL] and uploaded an image and hit apply. Of course right after doing that I went to lock my PC to see if it worked, and as you can tell... it didn't.
I've tried rebooting and it hasn't worked. It's just very rapidly flashing between a blue screen w/ a loading circle and my lock screen image.

I usually have screen shutoff/sleep set for longer periods but would like the screen to lock sooner.

Nov 30, 2015I've had a problem where Windows was booting up fine sometimes, but other times it couldn't find the desktop settings, and I couldn't open any files (even though I could browse the hard drive) and there was no Start menu.
I've been trying various things to fix this, one of which was to set up a new user account. I followed instructions to open Powershell and I typed "net user TestUser password /add". It said it was successful.
Now I cannot even get into Windows. At the sign-in screen there are no users available at all (I just have the nice picture of blue window). I have tried shift-Restart to get to the troubleshooting options, but this doesn't work, it just restarts the PC and I get back to the same sign-in screen.
Power Options On Sign In Screen
Sep 1, 2015With Windows 8,1 I was able to sign out of my account and then put the PC to sleep (or shutdown, restart or hibernate) by selecting the option in the sign-in screen. But there is no power icon or any power options on the Windows 10 sign-in screen. I can only put the PC into sleep mode while signed in.

Mar 16, 2016During boot-up, I get a blank screen (shows cursor arrow which responds to touch pad movements), after the sign in page, which I can't I can't escape from except by forcing shut down and restart. The reboot can then take as long as five minutes to complete. I thought this was odd, because that was the process with another laptop at work that I have successfully updated. When boot up in safe mode, I get a WDF violation and automatic restart whenever I attempt to go to a recovery point or any other option. This creates an loop that I can't break. Build 10565 Sign In Screen Without Default Picture
Oct 13, 2015From another forum there were people asking if they could eliminate the default sign in background picture. At the time, it could not be done.
Recently I posted a tutorial authored by Brink from another forum that allows users to change the sign in background pictures. That requires downloading something.
In this new build 10565 ( I think this started in build 10547, but I didn't have that build to know for sure ), we can now eliminate the background picture and replace it with solid colour. This can be done by Settings > Personalization > left side, Lock Screen > right side, under Show Windows background picture on the sign in screen, turn the slider OFF.
Desktop Goes To Sleep After 10 Minutes With Blue Sign On Screen
Aug 2, 2015I have updated my desk top with no problems and have set it to sleep after an hour, however it still goes to sleep after 10 minutes. It then sits with the blue sign on screen with no account pic or sign in box for ages before going to a blue screen which flickers for a few seconds before giving me the sign in options. I have tried adjusting all the power saver options to no avail!

Oct 3, 2015I upgraded (free) from 7 to 10 a month ago and all is going well apart from the lock screen. Sometimes when I boot up I see the lock screen for the briefest moment before I get to the regular sign in screen. Win+L does not result in a Lock screen but the regular sign in screen (Blue window and bottom left options).
I have tried the NoLockScreen DWord registry option with no luck either. Both manually and as a 'reg' file insert. Lock screen is set on via settings and I can select Spotlight, background images and apps to show etc.
I do not have Gpedit.msc as I have the Home version of Win 10.
