Whenever I try to access a folder or save a file, I get the message "Windows cannot access PCDocuments. I am not doing this on a network, just on my Windows 10 PC. When I click cancel the error message goes away and the folder opens. Actual error message attached.
Everything about my network worked fine on Windows 8. With Windows 10 I have been unable to access PC's on my router. Internet work fine, I see the PC's on network in homegroup, But gives me the dreadful and nonsensical error:
Worth noting that my windows 8 laptop can access these computers no problem. but my windows 10 pc's can access ANY pc's
I am unable to access one of three computers on my local network via File Explorer. I can access the other two and I can access a network local external drive.
The error is : error code 0x80070035 the network path was not found
This expands into: one or more network protocols are missing on this computer windows sockets registry entries required for network connectivity are missing...
The post from SimBy in Network Protocols says to disable netbios over TCP/IP. I don't know how to do that.
3 days ago I was exploring an older hard drive. When I tried to explore the desktop folder of that drive Windows Vista, it wouldn't open. It suggested that i shared the folder so I could explore it or copy files from that folder(which is what I originally wanted to do). When I did, the folders on any drive stopped opening. When I try to open any folder, it flashes white and returns to the desktop.
I'm having trouble opening folder within folders. For example, I can open any folder on my desktop but when I try to access any folders within that folder they show me this message;
For now, I transfer any folders I need to access out onto my desktop. By the way what the pop-up even means....
Up until a few days ago when I clicked the windows key and typed C:projects (or any folder) and clicked enter that location would open. This is no longer working. I can still open applications but I can't open any folder locations. Is there a settings somewhere for this?
After more testing, when I hit the windows key and type C:projects and hit the enter key....Nothing happens. However if I do the same procedure but instead click on C:projects with my mouse the folder opens. So it seems only the enter key won't open the folder.
In windows 7, whenever you clicked a folder or file there would be a "click". I kind of liked that sound so how to enable that in windows 10 and what the sound name is.
I have two computers, both run Windows 10, One runs Pro and the other Home (odd considering both were free upgraded from 7 Pro, but that is a currently unanswered for 2 month question for Microsoft to resolve...). Onto business, my main PC (Triton hereon out) spontaneously throws the 0x80070035 (network path not found) error. The other PC (Prometheus) is always on, its always connected. To add insult to injury, there is nearly always an open VNC connection (Prometheus runs headless, no monitor, hence VNC), so I know the computer is connected at all times and it is at least visible in one way as the VNC connection never drops. This problem has been going on since I got the free 10 upgrade. Both previously used Windows 7 Pro and had no connection problems with each other.
So here is what I have tried so far. - Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP - Restart both PCs - Exit homegroups and make a new one - Uninstall VirtualBox incase it was trying to use its (VirtualBox) imaginary network on both machines (both are now running it again though after it didn't work) - Disabling / exiting VNC Viewer/Server on both servers before connecting
The only odd thing I have noticed is my router/modem in one has six IPv6 addresses for Prometheus, whilst Triton only has two. Both have one IPv4 assigned, see this image for info. If it matters, I connect to Prometheus via VNC by name 'Prometheus' instead of its local IP. Incase Windows does it a different way? remember this is spontaneous, sometimes (i'd say about 30% of the time) it connects and I can view and copy/edit Prometheous' files no questions asked, the other times it will throw this error but after a few tries it will let me in.
or a few days now I am unable to install or uninstall anything, do a anti-virus-scan, run anything as administrator, opening an .exe-file or simply opening the Task-Manager. I always get the same error message (see attachment). Except when I'm in Safe Mode.
Avira-Systemcheck in Safe Mode doesn't find anything bad and so I have no clue what causes this and how to repair it.
Not able to open device manager, disc management or any of those administrative tools. Main thing is that I'm getting a runtime error every time I try to open msconfig.
Runtime error!
C:windowssystem32msconfig.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Any way to eliminate the error messages below when my neighbor opens Word, Excel or Powerpoint.
Background: I upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. All went well and there were no problems. They had Office XP with Frontpage (yes that is old) loaded on Windows 7 and it worked fine. When you opened it there were no error messages after the upgrade was completed.
About a week later they wanted a clean install on the laptop because it had been awhile since they ever did that. I do a clean install, Windows 10 Activated successfully so now it was time to reload the applications.
After we loaded Office XP on the machine we started getting theses messages at the point it was loading. Eventually you would get to the application and it was fully functional.
I put the screen shots in the picture included in this post......
1 - Windows 10 does not detect my Samsung Galaxy 4. It works with other devices like mp3 players, and my phone charges perfectly. But windows simply does not find it.
2- When opening gifs or videos (with default player, others work fine) I get this error: File system error (-2147416359)
This is a clean Windows 10 Pro 64-bit install on a home-built system (ASUS Sabertooth X99 with an i7). When attempting to open graphics files (JPG, GIF, etc) this is the error that pops up:
I installed Apowersoft Streaming Audio Recorder 3.4.4 on Win 10 OS, and some weird message came when I'm trying to open it. I remember that last time when I open it like month ago it was opening normally without any problem, and now this. I tried reinstall clean everything with revo uninstaller, I was googing but no luck. What to do, sfc scannow is my last option.
I have installed Windows 10 64 bit (Direct X 12 included) in my PC and when I try to run COD 4, it gives an error message - "The application was unable to start correctly (0x000007b). Click OK to close the application.
I have searched in google, there are many tweaks I tried but no result.
I installed it on my Windows XP laptop and it ran but I wasn't able to play because my laptop is old with very old integrated graphics.
On Windows 7 start menu you could have a folder such as EA Games and then sub folders within. For example a folder for tiger woods golf, a folder for say Fifa and so on. It seems on Windows 10 you can only have one folder level. I have tried creating sub folders but all the shortcuts within the sub folders all appear under the one top/master folder when actually viewing the start menu. Am I correct in this observation/restriction?
I installed W10 five weeks ago and until now all has been well.
When I turn on my laptop the"normal" picture screen opening appears showing the correct date / time.
Any action to open the log in screen or any key press results in the log on screen showing for about a half second followed by a blank screen with only the cursor arrow showing.
When I want to open a JPG file, a list pops up to choose what program to open it. I select the one and there is an additional choice to always use the selected program automatically. I check that also. However it still pops up with the 5 or 6 program choice window when I click on a JPG file. How do I get the choice to stick?
I have been using WIndows 10 since they released it and one issue has been plaguing me since then. Whenever I leave my computer and come back after some time i will notice apps are opened sitting in my taskbar. The main apps that do it are Photo and Calendar.
I don't use those apps for either photo or calendar things and I am not even signed into Windows 10 with a MS account.
But every hour or so, these apps open up and hang out in my taskbar. I have even removed them from default apps and uninstalled what I could but no luck.
I know this has been asked previously. I am working on a single user Toshiba laptop. Recently upgraded to Windows 10. Now none of the apps are opening. Tried the fix listed. There was a link to install bUT I cannot get to the Internet so I am unable to use the link provided. This machine came with pre-installed software so I cannot downgrade back to Windows 7.
I keep on getting this bug where it won't let me click on some tasks running on the taskbar, I am currently using Windows 10, is there any fixes? Am i the only one getting this issue?
I made clean Windows 10 (build 10240) install five times, and five times after some time my Start menu had vanished. Simply it doesn't open neither by Win key nor by mouse click on Window icon. Now I won't go into 6th clean install as it is clear that after a while Start menu would disappear again. So this is not way to go.
In the meantime between working and non-working Start I didn't make any radical system changes nor user hacks to system so the problem is all the more surprising for me. Any way that would bring my menu back (since without it the OS control is significantly diminished) or maybe someone other had met the same problem (on final build) too.
