I started receiving the following error after installing Windows 10.
Explorer.exe Application error.
The instruction at 0X00007FFC5C1DCC60 referenced memory at 0X000000000000000 the memory could not be read.
This error appears every time I sign off.
Until yesterday everything was working fine. This night I shutdown my computer and this morning, when I started it up, I noticed the icons of my dekstop in the default location and with the default dimensions.
I repositioned them , I changed icon dimensions again but if I sign out/sign in , restart , shutdown/startup the computer , all my desktop icons go back to default position and default dimension.
When I switched from 8.0/8.1, one of the things that thrilled me the about 10 was that I didn't have to sign back in every time the computer sent to sleep!
Now, after the last update, I have to do this again. What a major PITA! Is there any way to disable this? I have absolutely no reason to be worried about security in my own home.
(I also notice that I am now occasionally getting some strange screens upon starting up and before the sign-in screen. I have been ignoring them. The last one (and maybe the earlier ones, too) asked "Do you like what you are seeing?" What the heck are these
When I again turned on my pc, it says "disk read error". I do my job on my pc. I have too much work on it. There are too many files on my hdd.
View 1 RepliesI just bought a new Windows 10 machine (HP Envy) and I'm running Outlook 2010. When I select multiple e-mails (Shift, select top e-mail, select bottom e-mail) it correctly highlights all e-mails. Then when I right click and select "Mark as Read" it removes the highlight from multiple e-mails and instead only highlights the last e-mail. I would often select multiple e-mails, mark as read, and then delete.
It's not a huge deal, but I could do this in Outlook 2010 in Windows 8.1 without issue and I can do it in Outlook 2003.
I tried running ASRock App shop today and I keep getting an error that says "Out of Memory". I know my memory is not an issue and have never had this problem before. I uninstalled it and downloaded the most current version from the site and am still getting the same message.
View 1 RepliesBeginning from Saturday while playing with crashes and freezes I might have fixed my driver problems, but upon booting up my PC the next day, I was receiving constant Memory_Management BSOD errors every 20 minutes to 1 hour when trying to play Fallout 4 for example.
When I came back from work today just a hour ago, I also received the same BSOD when I logged in, but later it just worked fine and proceeded to desktop. Weird.
Oh, and here's the rar file I was supposed to upload when reading through posting instructions.
I get a memory management error when i streaming from web or use skype screen share. i tried running sfc /scannow command, the results say that there are some corrupt files that the system could not fix. I have a cbs file but I don't understand it.
View 3 RepliesI recently upgraded two newer laptops from 8.1 to 10. One of the laptops is unusable at this point. Every hour or so I get a BSOD indicating a MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error. I had no issues with this laptop running Win 8.1.
Two questions:
1. What is the best approach to troubleshoot this?
2 Is it possible to revert back to Win 8.1?
I see that it is possible to roll back to 8.1, but first I'd like to see if i can resolve the issues with Win 10...
not long ago I get new machine: Asus Deluxe Z170, intel i7 6770k, G. Skill Ripjaws V DDR4-2400, etc... The system is unstable, the BSODs mainly show while windows 10 on load.

I dont know if its problem of hardware or drivers (very newer).
Windows 10 loaded OK and everything seemed to work OK. Few days later having tried to sign in I got a message that the start menu isn't working and they will try to fix it the next time I sign in.
Now I have to click the signing in icon to enable I can get to my programmes etc and to go online.
Whenever I sign in to my user account I get a blue window with a critical error message......saying Start menu and cortana aren't working ( I have cortana turns off in options anyway ) then it says we will try and fix it next time you sign in, with the only option to sign out.....this happens every time I start the PC up, but OK after signing out and in again , is it anything to do with shutup10 that I ran recently, although it's not affecting my windows 10 laptop.
View 3 RepliesFor some backstory: I built this computer in late Feb of 2015. Over the last 5/7 months (two of which - July and August - I wasn't around to use it) and have had several issues with it since
Early March - Random BSOD relation to Shadowcopy files (reinstalled OS, issue ceisted)
Early September - Several random BSOD due to GPU drivers (uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers in Safe Mode - doing so in regular boot mode caused a BSOD - fixed this)
Late September - Single, random BSOD again. However, the computer could not get past the Windows Repair Environment (reinstalled the OS, issue ceisted)
Now - random freezing every few days to as often as once every few hours. This is my current issue. These freezes will occur suddenly and with no warning. One second I'll be watching a video, browsing, or playing a game then the next I'll be stuck. Any audio will loop constantly and the screen will be stuck at the last "frame". I've left it for as long as 30 minutes and it will not crash or bluescreen. The only option is to simply hold the Power button.
The event viewer will not have any error or warnings at the time of the freeze but will only have the error regarding the computer shutdown being forced at the time I hold the Power button. I was suggested to check for temps (all were normal) and perform a clean install of Windows 10 (I had upgraded from Windows 7). I had another hard freeze today similar to the ones I was having before. The issue is back and I'm unsure of what to do next. Is this no longer a software issue if reinstalling the OS was unsuccessful?
Downloaded Windows 10 over a month ago and it has been working fine since Today I installed the latest version of iTunes and since then I get the following:-
Critical Error - Start Menu and Cortana aren't working - We'll try to fix it the next time you sign in
There is then a box which says ''Sign out now''....
I do these and it goes back to the Critical error message. I seem to stuck in this loop...
I'm running a 64 bit Windows 10 laptop. On idle, the System process is showing a high memory usage of more than 150 MB, usually more than 200 MB. Using poolmon the pooltag SpDN showed up with a memory leak. It leads to the Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver, iaStorV.sys. How should I go about fixing the problem?
View 1 RepliesI have an HP DV4 Laptop(i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD) that came with Windows 7, I recently updated to Win10. Everything seems fine except of the high CPU usage in System and Compressed memory. I narrowed it down to the Realtek Memory Card reader. I should also mention that right after the Win10 update two Realtek Memory Card Reader entries were in Device Manager with yellow exclamation icons.
I deleted them and had Windows install the drivers from Windows updates, after that everything LOOKS fine. And there's only one entry now.After a while I noticed the fan making a lot of noise, wasn't like that in Win7.Anyway, after hours of troubleshooting I eventually came back to the Realtek reader, sure enough after disabling it CPU went to normal.I have also downloaded the newest driver from realtek site.
I recently bought a HP Probook and within days I started getting BSOD - I had it replaced by HP and the same model replacement is now also giving BSOD. I deliberately didn't install anything on it apart from Chrome. I'm getting BSOD all the time now when browsing - it doesn't matter which browser I use. I have the minidump files but don't know how to read them. I've uploaded them...

View 1 RepliesThe computer seems very stable right up until I let it go idle. After 4 minutes I get the REGISTRY_ERROR bsod. The system is not over clocked. CPU temps are low. Memtest86(+) runs fine for 8 passes with 0 errors. Disabling the two .NET tasks that start on idle in Task Scheduler made no difference (as per the post with a similar issue). CHKDSK /R requires a reboot and no messages are present on the screen while running but there is no log file generated in Event Viewer / logfiles / application. I ran sfc /scannow and got errors. A reboot and retry did not correct the error. I ran Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and it successfully repaired the system. Subsequent scans with SCF indicate no issues or problems. Not sure if it is relevant but the system has a Samsung 950 SSD as the C drive.

View 1 RepliesI installed Win 10 on my home server and it keeps crashing all the time with random BSODs (with a bunch of different error messages). Before that, it was running fine on Win Home Server 2011.
I tried a bunch of driver combinations (the default ones, the ones from ATI, the ones from Asrock, ...). Unfortunately, nothing solved the issue. Memtest is OK.
The hardware is an old-ish ASRock A780GXH/128M motherboard with a Phenom CPU.
It take 2 mins for the laptop too completely boot up what is wrong. Also i got bsod few mins ago that read driver power state failure.

View 2 RepliesYesterday I installed Windows 10 Professional on my Acer Aspire V5-573G laptop. I installed the English (US) version even though I live in the Netherlands. When I corrected the time I have set it to the correct timezone (see screenshot) but it has the wrong time connected to it. As seen on the screenshot the time displayed is 21:49 even though when I took it, it was actually 13:49. Off course I could manually change the time, but I was wondering if maybe this is part of some bigger problem and if there is a better way to fix it.
