My Facebook app has quit working. It will open and then close. I've uninstalled/reinstalled but that didn't work. It just started doing this today. I'm using a Surface Pro 2 running Windows 10.
View 7 RepliesShutdown computer last night, turned it on this morning and the 'app' quite working. Got one of those messages from windows – “A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.” Rebooted computer twice – no go.
O.K. then. Uninstalled and reinstalled, no luck. Tried to download Weather Channel app – no go – clicking on download link and nothing happened. O.K. Tried to download Accuweather app – same result – clicking on “link” and nothing happened. Tried different sources, Cnet etc.
Dell computer, windows 10 – no other issues. Computer works fine otherwise. I like to have the “temperature” on my task bar as I go walking everyday and its a nice guide.
Driver update gone bad caused my start button to stop working. I have tried sfc /scannow but it didn't find any issues. I don't want to do a system restore because the last time I did, that caused more problems! (edge vanished).

View 6 RepliesI started to upgrade all my drivers since I downloaded windows 10. Everything was going along fine until I hit the driver on my mouse. Gone the mouse disappeared. There was no way to get it back. So I finally hooked up another mouse and tried to go back and roll back the driver to the other version. The roll back box won't lite up and it has to be lite to be able to roll back.

View 1 RepliesWhen I first got Win 10, the Edge browser worked great but after a time it simply quit working. The opening screen with the icon comes up but then it goes back to my desktop. I can still use Explorer but Edge had some features I liked and I would like to go back to it before too long. I have seen some comments here about proxy servers and the like but I am not brave enough to tinker with that.
View 7 RepliesNot sure if this is the right thread for this but saw no other options for my specific problem. My laptop was reviving and so looked in task manager to fins this Windows Image Acquisition Service using the CPU. Went into services and changed it to manual.
Engine still revving, Shut down pc and turned back on.......engine begins revving again.......
Task manager says "no processes running?
Turned internet off.... no difference...still revving?
I am having a pretty consistent problem with file explorer in Windows 10 of late. I am running the latest release 86.17, Windows 10 64bit. Nutshell, when I create a folder, or rename a folder in Explorer, that change does not reflect on the screen. I have to exit the folder, and reopen it to see the change. If I reboot, the problem goes away for a bit, but then it comes back. It's pretty strange. I wonder if other folks are seeing the same thing after one of the latest updates.

-Nvidia GeForce GT 520m
-Broadcom SD card reader
-Dolby Digital audio driver
This was 3 days ago now and I've been having issues closing applications since. Full screen games in particular tend to fill my desktop with a black box equal to the games resolution, I can't click anything behind the box and it is above ANY windows I'm running. Usually the windows will take upwards of 10 minutes to close, however it can be longer.
Games can't be closed with task manager even as escalated user from any tabs, error returned is "Permission Denied".
I've uninstalled the Broadcom SD card reader driver since as apparently it's prone to memory leaks, my SD card reader had never worked before driver installation anyway.
The issue tends to happen after the computer has been on for a while. It gets worse as a process called "System and compressed memory" starts taking up more ram. I've attempted to stop "System and compressed memory" from doing so by disabling fast-boot as another forum post suggested, however it made no/minimal difference.
Facebook app crashes as soon as it loads on my laptop which has been upgraded to windows 10.

When you click to add the account it goes to the store and comes up with an error. How do we get this to work?

View 5 RepliesFor the last couple of days, when automatically running Facebook of of my START apps list, after Facebook opens for a while it just cancels out without any warning. No problems before this. However, if I run Facebook thru the Internet after signing "ON", no problem. I uninstalled the Facebook from START and re-installed it from Windows Store and it installed with no problem. However, when I try to run it automatically from START, the same happens. It runs for a while, and whenever it feels like, it just kicks me out and cancels. As I stated above, this has only been happening the last two days.

On wife's laptop, Win 10 Home, Facebook App worked for her until today. Now the app opens for 5sec then closes. She is still on 10240build. Uninstall/reinstall no fix. Went to store tried updates there no updates. Rebooted computer after reinstall no fix. New laptop less than a month old so no build upgrade available.

View 2 RepliesI own a Nokia Lumia 820. Yesterday facebook app was crashing and wouldn't open so I uninstall it. Now that that I'm trying to re-download it it won't let me. It tells me to check if the phone system is updated which it is. It is the only app I'm having problems downloading, I have download others during the day to check if the problem was related to all downloads but it isn't. It's just facebook.
