VS always freezes if I run application then I can see application run in task manager but I can't see window and I can't terminate this process.
Programs compiled in Visual Studio 2015 which worked a week ago now won't work too- same problem.
Other 3rd party programs works without problem even newly installed.
I have tried:
> reset VS
> repair VS
> reinstall vcredist2015
> reinstall visual studio
> sfc /scannow
> check disk
So not so long ago I decided that I would want to develop some automation software in c#. So I loaded up Visual Studio Community 2015, then I was hit with the "license has expired" error. I looked this up and it turns out that as soon as you log in, the error goes away. So I clicked log in... Failed to connect ..... I thought that this might be temporary, so I moved on. A day ago the LOREZ Game Jam started. So I loaded up unity 5 (which has Visual Studio now).
View 1 RepliesI recently upgraded from 8.1 to 10. Performance seems great in general, but Visual Studio 2013 really slows down the system, both when parsing the project directory and during compiling. Chrome for example takes up to a minute to load a single page. I tried setting the process priority to low, with no effect. Under Windows 8.1 I didn't have any problems with VS.
I tested other applications such as the Unreal Editor and rendering a video from Adobe Premiere, both also get the CPU usage to 100%, but don't have any impact on the general system performance, so VS is the only app where I notice this behaviour.
I read that AVG were bringing out updates, but when I upgraded to Windows 10, AVG no longer works or even loads up.
View 9 RepliesI have been having an issue where I am received an intermittent blue screen of death with the message DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. The issue seems to be occurring when I'm using Adobe Photoshop CC 2015. I have updated my BIOS and graphics card to the most recent version, but this doesn't seem to have remedied the issue.
View 9 RepliesMy Picasa has disappeared and I now have a system - Microsoft photos 2015 - . Where do I find out how to use it?
Some, but not all of my photos are there and I can find no way to import from a memory stick - an "import" instruction does not seem to exist.
My problem is very similar to one described by tomzino earlier this month in this forum. Since upgrading from windows 7 home premium to windows 10, my computer gets a BSOD and reboots daily; so far in November it has crashed 20 times. The only days it didn't, the system was powered down. The error message is the 'bad pool header' . Oddly, 85% of the BSODs have occurred between 12:12pm and 12:43pm EST. I ran the DM Log collector to gather the information from the last two crashes for diagnosis.
View 7 RepliesIn windows update i have on 3 occasions over 2 days where it says upgrade failed. got me puzzled. i have all the updates
View 5 RepliesI have been trying to install the Windows 10 upgrade to no avail .
I am running windows 7 home premium x-64 on a Gateway NV78 laptop.
Things I have already tried range from deleting programs and device drivers to reinstalling the updater. Have run a clean boot and ran from the updater, the build. a startup disk, and from a usb flash drive. I have deleted my printer drivers, virus software, and cleaners.
I convinced my friend to upgrade to windows 10 on his laptop and it failed leaving it screwed.
The laptop is based on a Clevo W350ET chassis.
When you turn it on it goes to a screen saying 'Recovery Your PC/Device needs to be repaired, A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed, Error code 0xc000000f'.
Any options like revert to a previous built, system restore or whatever do not work.
Any chance of saving the current install or will I have to reinstall everything? My friend has old programs he is concerned he cannot get anymore.
My win-10 computed downloaded the update files yesterday. But the installation has failed.
View 2 RepliesRecently, I decided to do a factory reset, to cleanly wipe my drive, with the exception of Windows. When the reset was about 30% through, the reset failed. Now, when I try and use my laptop, it only gets to the ASUS logo, then goes to a black screen with a flashing underscore symbol on the top left corner. I've tried doing F9, SHIFT+F9, and everything else in between. My laptop is an ASUS G74SX, and I don't have a recovery partition for the laptop. I also cannot get any external programs for the laptop, such as ISOs, etc.
View 1 RepliesMy father hit yes to upgrad his HP Probook 6407b from Windows 7 to Win 10. He did not realize what he was saying yes to.He brought it to me before it finsihed. I got into win 10, but then had issues with HP security software at boot. It would hang at boot, say something about a finger print reader, and then allow me to log in. So I decided to revert back to win 7. that failed. Goes to try a startup repair and it does not work. It looks like win 7 trying to do it and not 10.
Is there any way to recover either win 7 or 10?I tried a win 10 usb drive, but it says the upgrade was previously started in windows, turn off machine and restart, but that fails.
So my computer has been kinda laggy and running slowly so I figured I would do a clean reset of Windows 10. It noted that it would take hours, which was fine. However about an hour into it, it said there was an error resetting. It then restarted the computer however I can't get passed the "ASUS" start up logo. It goes black and then loops. I hit F9 but none of the options work for me - automatic repair won't work because it says my computer doesn't have an administrator and when I try to reset again from there, it tells me that "a required drive partition is missing." I don't have the greatest knowledge on computers, so I really don't even know what that means.
I've read that I might have to reboot from a USB - how would I go upon doing that? Is there something I can download on the Microsoft website? I don't have a key because the computer came pre-loaded with Windows 8 and I upgraded to Windows 10 for free last year. Will I still be able to boot from a USB?
I got the little 'Get Windows 10' icon and reserved my copy, all fine. But it still doesn't actually say it can install, not sure why. But my laptop has now tried to install W10 5 times, without telling me it was going to or asking my permission. And all five times it has failed with error code 80240020. This is not my area of expertise and I don't know why it keeps doing this. I'm not even sure I want to install it; I only reserved it to see what everyone else thought and I figured I'd have some kind of say in the matter. Basically, is it supposed to do this? And what can I do to fix it, either by stopping it trying or installing it properly?
View 2 RepliesWhen I install modem MMX310G 3G USB MANAGER in windows 10, it shows driver installation failed and when open this app it shows no devices.
View 2 RepliesI have tried to update an older laptop to Windows10, three times, or roughly 8 gigs of data. In all three attempts it has failed and stopped at 32% of the installation; and in all three attempts Windows had to automatically roll back to Windows, in my case Windows7.
Searching for solutions, none of them work, one of those solutions is to disconnect all your peripherals and try again based on the error you see in the image. I only have one peripheral and I seriously doubt it would cause Windows10 not to update when I have the same device on another machine and the update to Windows10 worked successfully; although I disconnect the one peripheral and I was right, same problem, Windows10 failed to update ?
I was invited to download/install Windows 10 and I followed all the steps to download the files. Then I clicked to install it and it seemed to be doing it. Windows closed down and the computer restarted, but when it opened again it was still Windows 7 and there was a box up relating to Windows upgrades that that said the 'latest upgrade' had failed, and there was a button to click to download Windows 10 if I wanted to (again?!).
I don't know where all the files are that were downloaded and what I should do. I saw a suggestion somewhere that firewall/antivirus software can be a problem. I have Bitdefender, that doesn't allow you to disable it.. I suppose I could remove it completely before trying again? But otherwise what should I do? I don't want to download a lot of duplicate files again.
i tried to wipe my hard drive using the system wipe function in windows settings, and I let it do that while I had to go do something else. I came back to an error that it had an error during the process, and a sole button "cancel." It now tries and fails to boot up past the hp splash screen, and then black screens and resets. It does this in a loop, f8 does nothing, and it detects nothing. My warranty expired a mere 5 days ago, and I am absolutely lost.
View 9 RepliesMy Windows 7 was updating to Windows 10. When it appeared to almost be done configuring a message appeared stating the Windows 10 could not be installed and it was restoring the previous version of Windows.
Well that did not work. The pc will not boot up now. Instead I get: "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: <windows root>system32hal.dll Please reinstall a copy of the above file"
I hope I can add the file using the win7 dvd. I know I was getting low on hard drive space, but had cleared enough to have 4 gig or so free. It was either not mentioned anywhere or I missed how much hd space would be needed. Of course I am assuming that the install bombed due to this?
I just upgraded my Win 7 Laptop to Win 10, but I seem to have lost my admin rights to certain folders and actions.
I am getting "You don't have permission to save in this location" messages when trying to look at the Local Users and Groups console or save files.I can not download/ save (do not get the save dialog at the bottom of Edge (or IE for that matter)).Also I am not able to do the "Sign in with a Microsoft account instead" procedure in the "Your account" window. Nothing happens when I fill in my email and click.
I want my control back, of the Laptop. How do I solve this?
I downloaded the MediaCreationToolx64.exe to upgrade to windows 10 but it failed at 83%. An blue error screen appeared with . I wasn't even able to read the error because my laptop shut down.
So I tried upgrading to windows 10 again but now it requires me to give a product key. I tried to put my windows 7 product key but it does not work.
I tried to download win10 twice with media tool but it reached ~75% and then its just gone without any error ... however this is not the problem.
I think the downloaded 75% are still stored on my C drive because i have a folder called $Windows.~WS its empty (there is folder called Source but also empty) but 5.26 GB in size (invisible data) .i want to delete it to save some space but im afraid that "get windows 10 app" is downloading in it and i dont want to delete it ( im still waiting for the notification though)so
1) is get windows 10 app downloading? knowing im still waiting the notification?
2) if 1 = true how to delete the media tool failed downloads?else if 1=false is it safe to delete the whole folder?
I have tried upgrading my Dell venue 8 Pro many times from GWX, installation media and direct download in normal and also after reset of tablet with secure boot and also removing secure boot, removing fast boot and with fast boot using all permutations and combinations. Still I am unsuccessful. I am not finding any way to get support from Dell also. It goes to upgrade 91% always and then says going to reboot. But it reboots to windows 8.1.
View 9 RepliesMy son (26) just returned a long term loan P8B67B Deluxe to me with Linux and Win 7 on it. I upgraded 7 successfully, but after updates installed last night the PC refuses to boot saying "error, no such partition, Entering rescue mode .. grub rescue>" Repeated boot attempts saw it fall into error 53 on the mobo lcd display. Removing one ram stick brought me back to booting to "error, no such partition, Entering rescue mode .. grub rescue>"
Trying to boot just one HDD either gives the above message, or "error, no such device : 521683dd-0417-4a66-b3fb-c6c67b9cc9fo grub rescue>"
I don't need the linux. That was my engineer son. What fixes are there to bring it to Win 10 alone? I don't know the new key or the old 7 key. Should have checked and written it down
