View 5 RepliesI'm a little confused as to whether we can use the Messaging app in W10 desktop to send SMS via our Windows Phones. Is this actually the case? Because if it is, my messages are not syncing across devices and my Messaging app only gives me the option to send messages via Skype, which is annoying since a few people I know don't have W10 mobile yet and/or have devices from competing companies.

View 1 RepliesI was using skype as usual, put my computer to sleep, and woke it a few hours later. (Laptop) Anyways, I tabbed over to skype, and started fiddling with video options (I was trying out a spare webcam since my laptop's is horrible). I compared the two feeds for a while, and clicked the drop-down option for my laptop camera to compare again.
This is when my skype stopped responding, and I closed it with Task Manager. When I opened it again, I received an error telling me I was already logged on. When checking Task Manager for any skype processes to close so I could entirely restart the program, I found this: [URL] .... I have it highlighted. I can't end the task.
Having changed from windows 7 to windows 10 MS word now requires one to log into Microsoft Exchange to obtain address book MS exchange apparently is now required (at a PRICE) to send an E mails direct from MS word.
View 1 RepliesMy new build is restarting randomly, and unlike with windows 7, there are no messages telling me what happened. What's the best way to view system logs that might have information about crashes?
View 1 RepliesHow can one reduce the volume (without effecting the volume of other sounds) of the sound playing when messages occur like this one at the bottom right side?
Using the sound mixer (or whatever it is called) does not work, the "Systemsounds" slider (set to "0") does not effect the volume of that messages:
My lock screen has a notification of a speech bubble with 99+ written next to it. I can't work out what it's referring to.
Please see the attachment:
What this is referring to or how I might be able to find out?
Randomly when browsing the internet I'll get bluescreen's 10-20 minutes in. I haven't tested many things but I have updated a couple of drivers in spite of what I thought may have worked..
View 1 RepliesI have 2 accounts set up in Mail for Windows 10. One is Yahoo, the other Comcast. When I first updated, the mail app worked fine. It would send and receive messages to and from both accounts. After a couple of days, the app stopped receiving messages. It will send, but not receive, from either account. I checked all the settings, tried to search the web for similar issue. ?

View 1 Repliessince i upgraded from windows 7 to 10 i've been getting these random restarts, after fixing the geforce experience the restarts have been happening alot less though.i haven't made any physical upgrades to my pc since windows 7 so i'm asuming this is a software issue or something.
View 1 RepliesHow do I dissable or get rid of Skype from windows 10.
View 2 RepliesWhen I'm using skype I can't do anything else. That is to say, when Skype is in use I can't access anything else using the internet.

View 6 RepliesMy mic is so quiet on steam and skype, starting from a couple of days ago, up until then my mic was perfect. I have checked many forms and youtube videos with no success.
View 1 RepliesI am absolutely clueless as to what is going on, everything was working fine last night. But now nothing is playing sound except from browsers and skype. I have tried black ops 2, gta v, shadow of mordor, steam trailers for games, but to absolutely no avail. It's really starting to annoy me, as all i want to do is enjoy my Sunday afternoon. And there will always be the odd bloke that asks, I am using Razer krakens, plugged into the side of my Blackwidow. I've completely uninstalled Razer Synapse, and restarted my PC countless times.
View 1 RepliesIs there a way to prevent Windows 10 from showing the message "New" next to every single thing I install and keeping it there until I finally cave in and open it?
View 5 RepliesI have a fresh install of Windows 10 Home on a factory built PC (Chillblast) that was running OK under Windows 7, but is now Blue Screening on Windows 10.When I boot the PC from cold about 1/3 of the time it will blue screen. The messages vary. Sometimes it will say IRQL Not less or Equal, or Page fault in non-paged area, or Memory Management.
The messages always happen pretty much at the exact second that you would normally get the logon box up. It never Blue screens when I'm actually using the computer, even if I'm hitting it hard with games. It also never blue screens on a reboot. Only when it's booting from power complete power down.I suspect that it's software rather than hardware, maybe a driver?
The only message in the logs is that the computer as recovered from an unexpected shutdown. It rarely creates Dump rile.I thought that it might be bad RAM. I have two 8GB chips. Both are the original chips that the computer was sold with. If I try with one chip in it runs perfectly. It doesn't matter which chip, or which slot the chip is in. It runs perfectly with all combinations. If I put them both in 1/3 of the time BSOD.
I've run Memtest86+ and it didn't find any problems. I've also run the System File Checker and it didn't find anything. As this is a fresh install I don't have much loaded. It started blue screening with only the basic software needed to run my hardware, and an Anti-Virus (Avira) loaded.
Windows 10 is installed on a totally new disc, straight out of the box (Sandisk SSD).Other than the hard disk and a soundcard, the PC is pretty much a factory build, with a factory configured motherboard. It's not overclocked, and I haven't tinkered with it.Before I installed Windows 10, I occasionally had a Stop 0X000008a error, but I don't know if that's relevant or not as it was a different OS on a different hard disk.
Why am I getting script error messages now I changed to Windows 10? Often when on the web and facebook
View 2 RepliesEvery time I open the Store and look for a video app called Pressplay and click on it, the Store will simply close down and then I'm back on the desktop. This happens everytime. Is this a common problem or could it have anything to do with the specific app I'm looking for?
View 1 RepliesSkype does not work in Windows10, not possible to reinstall. First I could not close Skype.
Today I could not open. Restart the OS, no start. I tried to install Skype again. Does not work. After an hour it is still updating.
Chrome destroyed by windows 10
Edge sux:
- slow
- cannot work with Discuss properly
- browser URL space is not intuitive. OMG Double work to find your banks, everything. Terrible. Please pay for google, buy something
- not efficient in monitor use: unnecessary thick headings, unmanageably (by touch pad) thin rolling column.
Bing is less useful then google:
- Cannot translate,
- no scholar.
I was trying to get Skype Desktop to work on W10 v1511 and decided to uninstall the Skype Video App that comes with W10. Now I want to get it back! Short of reinstalling W10 how do I go about reinstalling the Skype Video App? I know it must be obvious but I'm at a loss.
View 4 RepliesI think this started with the new November build, but Skype seems to be auto-starting, even though I have not installed it.the process is called Microsoft Skype.
how can I disable this process, so it won't start up every time I boot?
any other unneeded windows processes that are recommended to disable?
I have headphones set as my Default Communication Device, speakers as my Default Device and when communication activity is detected, all other sounds are set to mute.
Using Skype (desktop), on W8.1 this worked fine; on answering a call, the music through the speakers is cut. However, on W10 (both Home and Enterprise) the sound through the speakers is not muted.
Seems to be the exact opposite of the following...
Skype muting other sounds in Windows 10 Pro.
