Sep 26, 2015I have recently upgraded from Windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 10 Pro and everything was fine then. But recently I am experiencing an issue which is "Pinned items and Jump List are not displayed in File Explorer in both Taskbar and Start Menu". Pinned items and Jump Lists are displayed for other programs in Taskbar as usual but the issue is only with File Explorer. I have restarted the PC but still the problem persists and I have also disabled Cortana.
System Specs:
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo
Motherboard - Gigabyte (G31M-ES2L)
RAM - 4 GB
Graphics Card - NVIDIA GTX 560 (2 GB)
OS - Windows 10 Pro (64 bit)
Networking :: Mapped Drives Not Showing Up On Explorer
Sep 29, 2015I have several server drives mapped to my Surface Pro 3 tablet, and from time to time they disappear from Windows Explorer and XYplorer (an Explorer replacement). They are still there and mapped, as Net Use shows them mapped properly. But to get them tho show up in either Explorer or XYplorer, I have to physically remap them (right click: Map Network Drive...) and when I do so they already show up with the proper drive connection but won't appear unless I finish the remapping. XYplorer has a tool to reconnect all network drives, but nothing happens there.

Jan 21, 2016When I insert any removable drive (USB, SD cards, etc) the device shows up twice in Explorer. Once under "This PC" tree and the other as a device. See attached pic (USB Drive H):
I remember hearing about this being the way it's designed to work, but frankly it's a bit silly - I only need to see a single entry for the drive/device...
Is there any way to get rid of one of these entries without stuffing up some other Explorer feature?
Cannot See External Drives - No Drive Letters Showing In Explorer?
Aug 15, 2015My new windows 10 only sees my PC - when searching for my files in Explorer, it cannot 'see' my two external drives when I plug them in. I've looked in Device Manager and they are not showing in there either. How can I tell Win 10 to access my external drives?
I thought Win 10 would automatically spot my external drivers the moment I plugged them in? Then it would go search for and install the appropriate drivers - but it isn't doing that..
Quick Access Items And File Explorer
Aug 2, 2015Today after starting my computer, I realized that quick access items disappeared and I am unable to pin anything.
In addition, all pinned items in the menu that appears when you right click on the file explorer disappeared as well.

Aug 12, 2015Where you open your jump list in File Explorer and then click on something like your Videos or Downloads Folder to have the jump list close like normal, but then nothing open? I also noticed that when I right click on the start button, I can't get any of the options on the menu to launch either.

In Windows 10, if you open File Explorer, you can drag and drop the pinned folders under the Quick Access header on the left. When you right click File Explorer icon pinned to taskbar, the items will be in the same order as established in the Quick Access heading in File Explorer.

Also at the bottom, after Network is Homegroup. I do not use Homegroup. Can I delete it from this list? I have other computers that do not list Homegroup so why does this one list it?

Drivers/Hardware :: Empty USB Ports Showing In File Explorer?
Dec 1, 2015I just put the 1511 upgrade on (for the third time, but that's another story). I've noticed that when I open File Explorer I have a WHOLE BUNCH of USB ports that have nothing plugged into them... What the upgrade did, but these weren't visible previously. How do I turn them off?
And yes, I've gone into the File explorer options in the control panel and UNCHECKED "Hide empty drives". Didn't appear to make any difference...
Networking :: Linux SMB Not Showing Up In File Explorer (but Can Be Accessed Direct)
Jan 17, 2016I'm on a Windows 10 Pro PC accessing a linux server with samba etc installed and working well (visible via Homegroup to both Android and Windows 7 pro). From the Win 10 box, if I type the name of the server in Windows File Explorer, then the shares from the server show up without issue. However, if I go into the Network folder, it does not see the linux servers - even though they are correctly configured for the correct homegroup. My windows 7 machines can see the servers in "network" as can my android devices.
Here's a screenshot. Note, the red arrows show what displays in Network folder (red arrows). If I click on the Server Name (HunterNAS in this case), the server shares are displayed and it shows up in the Network folder (blue arrows). Even after making the successful connection, display of another file explorer window > Network folder displays no linux server shares...

File Browse Dialog Showing Limited Results Compared To Explorer Window
Aug 17, 2015I don't know if this is related to Win10, or an issue that existed with my Win8.1 before. I just noticed it after upgrading yesterday.
So, my firewall just prompted me about an outbound connection attempt by a file (named C:WindowsSystem32SIHClient.exe) and I didn't recognize it. I found it using explorer, and it's unsigned; so I visited VirusTotal.com and tried to upload it... but from the file upload browse box in Chrome I can't see the file! Even typing *.* and open doesn't remove the "filter" and reveal the file. (I finally ended up copying it to desktop and uploading from there, but still don't know what the file does.)
I thought that Explorer's "File View Options" (show hidden files, do not hide operating system files, etc.) were used throughout Windows once applied. Am I wrong? Should I suspect a virus or is this normal? What gives?

Oct 24, 2015Experiencing an issue of flash drives that are detected and functioning fine for a while spontaneously losing their connection to Win 10 Home? I don't have the issue in Win 7. One of the devices is brand new and has never been used on any other PC or OS. I reformatting another one that was originally provisioned on XP. No change afterwards, it still works fine in Win 7 and still has the issue in Win 10.

Oct 19, 2015I have recently bought a 32gb micro sd card from eBay and was wondering if there is some kind of check I can do to make sure it has correct memory on it, I have heard that some of the sd, hard drives and flash cards from eBay are being faked and what looks like a 500gb hard drive people find out later that its just a 1gb flash drive inside with some kind of modded files in it that makes it look like a 500gb drive, upon transferring files they just delete anything past 1gb.
