When I start a game I go in Windowed mode, And when I press ALT + Enter to go in fullscreen mode, or when I change it from the settings, The game crashes, And I see a little CMD icon in my windows start bar, it goes away in less than a second.
I tried formatting Windows, But it doesn't work.
I'm running Windows 10 Pro insider preview
Build 11102.rs1_release.160113-1800
Intel i5-3470
12GB RAM
1TB HHD
Asus GTX 960 Strix 2GB Overclocked.
Games I tried : Black ops 3 (steam), league of legends, Battlefield 3, 4, and Hardline (origin)
I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, and I'm quite having my issues when it comes to playing my games. I have NBA 2K14 installed and whenever I run the game in fullscreen mode, there is an fps drop and whenever I use windowed mode, it just turns out fine.
I have also installed the driver updates from NVIDIA's website. My video card is a GeForce GT 610 as of this moment but I'll be changing it to a GT 730 soon btw. I don't wanna play games in windowed mode.
Just installed Windows 10 about a month or two ago, and ever since I upgraded (from Windows 7), whenever a program enters full-screen mode (a game for example), the monitor cycles its power off and back on for a quick second, which causes it to display its "power-on" logo on the screen (in this case, the Acer logo), and wait a few seconds before it goes back to the correct display.
I watched lately when it started doing this, and the blue light that shows monitor power actually flicks off for a quick second, and then comes back on. I've never seen it do this before, but it's like maybe Windows 10 is changing the monitor display output to some insane resolution maybe, and causing it to power itself off for a second? Or it's turning the output off for a second?
So I get those crashes where my screen freezes and then goes dark ( lost signal). It happens at random with Blade and Soul , and happens every 5 minutes with World of Warcraft.
This started like 2 months ago before that the screen would just flash and I'd get the "display driver stopped responding and recovered".
Yesterday ( 02/16/2016) I got 5 crashes and I got 1 today.
What I already tried:
A lot of different versions of AMD drivers ( using DDU to install the new ones) Reset windows 10 on a lot of occasions Removed Windows 10 auto updater. Tried the amd support forums ( it only made matters worse) Tried the World of warcraft support forums ( also only made matters worse)
When watching videos or dvd/blurays, the video will freeze but the audio continues. Basically the programs (cyberlink Media suite 10 and Media player classic) crashes, giving errors, but can not see the error box. it is hidden and can not alt-tab to get to it. When running games like Torchlight, Shadow Warrior, and I exit the game (full screen) it goes to a full blank Grey screen (no icons or mouse) and I can't alt-tab, ctrl-alt-delete, or anything. I have to physically shut down my computer and turn it back on. When running the games in windowed screens, the video, on the game freezes, and audio continues.
I have figured out how to run Torchlight in open gl, and it works fine, that way, but am unable to change any settings. My "Driver Fusion 3.1" program freezes, when searching for outdated drivers. I contacted their support, and gave them the logs, for the program, and they can't find the issue, due to the program crashing at different stages in the search (not just on the same driver or spot every time). This problem started when I was still running win 8.1, right before I upgraded to 10, and has persisted through upgrade to 10, and two (fully clean) reinstalls of 10. I uploaded my Msinfo 32 and DxDiag txts.
I have gone through setting the windows update to never install device drivers, Removed all Nvidia device drivers, Used DDU to get all nvidia off my system, and done a full clean reinstall of Nvidia drivers, manually downloaded from Nvidia website (355.82 WHQL). Done this 4 times, last night, 15 times in all.
my computer keeps on crashing when playing games and WhoCrashed says the problem is to do with ntkrnlmp.exe. I ran the verifier and the dmp and msinfo are below.
Last week and a good part of this one i've been dealing with a huge gaming issue called rubber banding. I've stressed out all the ISP employers and all of them said nothing it's wrong with the connection between them and me, and more likely there's a problem between me and the servers across Europe. Anyways, after hundreds of tries and many hammers hits into my router, i've discovered that if i restart the computer, all the lag and rubber banding disappears. Like nothing else ever happened. But if i go into Sleep Mode, and then turn it on again.
I recently reinstalled Fallout 3 but noticed every time I saved, they weren't detected in the Load screen. I checked the folder (C:UsersAlien2DocumentsMy GamesFallout3) and my saves were there! So the game is saving, but I'm unable to load any of them cuz they aren't getting detected.
I have Windows 10 which warns me the game is not optimized, but it runs fine. Also, I want to note I did not have to install Games for Windows Live when I installed fallout 3 through Steam, but when I click the warning Windows 10 gives me about the game not running properly, it sends me straight to an install link for GfWL which I decided to reinstall.
I had hoped to use the migrate method where you'd move the save files from My Games/Fallout 3 into whatever profile folder there is made from GfWL but after reinstalling and logging into my old account it didn't work.why I can't load my games?
I have noticed that the area which shows shut down, personal folders etc is always visible when fullscreen start menu is not enabled. But when you change to fullscreen mode, you have to unfolde that part of the start menu, which I find very anoying, since i prefer fullscreen start menu.
So the question is, can you pin that part to the fullscreen start menu.
So I just noticed that the little diagonal double-arrow at the right of the title bar that you use to run modern/universal apps fullscreen is suddenly missing. The arrow was there when I installed Windows 10 and was still there (afaik) up until a few days ago. Now I just have minimize/restore/close.
The new Windows notifications appear over my windowed fullscreen games, especially in one game covering up the minimap. Is there a way to make it appear under them? It used to work perfect in Windows 8 and earlier, where the speech bubble notification would appear over my non-fullscreen programs, but would be hidden behind windowed fullscreen ones.
im starting to seriously hate this default media player now... not so much on music even tho when i press stop on my keyboard it still does not stop but anyways back on topic
is there a way to make the media player enter fullscreen instead of just maximizing the window ? ive tried ATL+Enter and still nothing.
Many BSOD's happened while I'm developing and testing a game. I'm using Intellij IDEA community edition. The game is using lwjgl 3, which in turn uses GLFW 3 and OpenGL. The BSOD always happened, while I was editing one of the source files, and quickly launched the game from the IDE. The game is configured to start in fullscreen. BSOD never happened when it launched in windowed mode. The error code seems to be 0xD1, DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
I've been having this issue for nearly a year now (probably around 9 months). It started after my little sister made me get a virus by her trying to download something onto my laptop. I've since taken it to a reputable computer shop as well as followed instructions from other computer wizs and I think it's no longer there. Issue is, my computer has kind of developed another problem after that. It freezes on it's own sometimes, when I pick it up or even when it's on a desk and immobile. It would also freeze when I play a game sometimes, loud buzzing sound as the game continues in loops I believe. I had BSOD problems earlier this year that was solved (Apparently. I haven't gotten any in about 4-5 months) when I had Windows 7 but this issue still persists.
When it would freeze and I manually turn off my computer and turn it back on, the laptop would sometimes say no wifi could be detected. At all. Not mine, not my neighbors, nothing. I've never really taken it out of the house so I don't know if it'd act the same elsewhere. I would then shut it down and take out the battery for 30 seconds before putting it back in. Sometimes the wifi would work then or I'd go connect it to my Internet Modem and the wifi would start working over there too.
So I'm not sure what's causing this problem. It's not overheating as I had it cleaned less than 4 months ago by a professional. I've had this laptop for two years and I really wanted it to last me at least 4 because I'll be going into an animation program soon and to get a laptop of the same caliber costs $1000+.
Is there anyway I can solve this freezing issue/loss of wifi on my own? I'm thinking of taking it back to the computer shop (they've had a hard time trying to find out what's wrong with it) but I'm sure they'll charge me again and I'm not willing to end up paying a lot to get this fixed. Might as well buy a new one if it costs more than $500 to fix...
P.S. I'm also having issues with my sound card where I'd plug in my headphones and it would work but when I take it out, my laptop would say it's still plugged in. Addtionally, my CD Rom Drive makes a loud sound when I try to skip through CDs and DVDs. Sometimes it won't even skip and just continue making the sound. I don't know how my laptop has gotten to this state as I've taken very good care of it (minus allowing a younger sibling to use it but you live and learn). These issues don't bother me much as I can use a DVD player for my DVD's and the sound issue isn't an issue for me. I don't really care for it since I use headphones 90% of the time or have the sound off.
I turned on high contrast mode. Now it won't change back to normal mode no matter what I do. I tried selecting None in the dialog box for high contrast mode and all the other modes.
I'm trying to understand why I would want to use tablet mode. Apart from the minimize, maximize and "x" buttons found in desktop mode. Aren't the modern tile apps that you can launch straight from the start menu in desktop mode, exactly the same as the ones in tablet mode? Apart from the apps being full screen.
If so, I'm thinking I may as well just stay in desktop mode and launch the apps from the start menu in desktop mode?
We're basically done after about, 30+ tries, but all of a sudden, I CRASH :C. The problems are happening after Windows 10, I think something is screwing around with my GPU or my GPU driver. My games in general actually have been pretty unstable, like Witcher 3 etc. I don't think it's a driver issue because i clean re-installed it yesterday.
So I know the drivers are new for Windows 10, but i have a significantly low amount of fps for games I've been playing. I have an i5-4590 and a r9 280x. I use to max out fps on CSGO and now it maybe gets 40-50. Also, when i play rust i get 20-30 fps. I was talking to some guys I was playing CSGO with and they are getting maxed out fps with gpu that aren't much better than mine. I can't even get GTA V to run at all. I redownloaded the drivers too.
I have had persistent problems recently with my computer freezing/crashing. This is an HP Pavilion, model 500-123a, running Windows 10 (recently upgraded from Windows 8). What's been happening is that it's been stalling out, both in Word (without broadband on) and on the Web (eg Yahoo, Yahoo Mail). In Word the cursor freezes and will not move, the screen goes opaque white, the blue circle whirls, can't do anything with it, can't shut down, and I have to unplug it and reboot.
This can happen 3 or 4 times a day. In Yahoo, similarly, the screen freezes, the cursor won't move at all, and have to unplug. I used software, PC Health Advisor, to try to diagnose the problem, and it hasn't signalled up anything specifically. From checks I've done, it doesn't look like fragmentation, nor RAM (8GB), nor registry issues, nor a monitor problem.
My laptop crashes every time I scan and then try to clean the issues identified by Adwcleaner. Below is my logfile. This is linked to a problem I have with yahoo constantly coming up as my search engine and homepage even though its actually google.
