Aug 6, 2015I just installed Windows 10 on my Asus pc and now the Minecraft launcher won't run, it gives me an error message "Application unable to start correctly (0xc0000018)". I have no clue what went wrong, but it doesn't want to work. I will only take restoring to an earlier date as a last resort.

Aug 17, 2015I have windows 10 installed and I have also installed the finale 2014 demo.
I am getting an error on launch of the application. It seems to be the only application that cannot run.
The error is:
"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application."
It seems to be an error with the C++ runtime. I have installed them but I have been unsuccessful.
Networking :: Running Programs From NAS / The Application Was Unable To Start Correctly (0xc0000142)
Oct 9, 2015Ever since installing Windows 10 (clean) I'm facing several network related issues. Before going in depth I'd like to figure out if it's a problem with my PC or if it's a problem with Windows 10 in general.
I'll just stick to one problem for now.I have a Synology NAS and connected a directory there as network drive. I have some programs there that won't work when run from this location.
GameSave Manager/HandBrake Setup/Notepad++ Setup
"The Application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application."
WinMergeProtable Process shows up in Process Explorer but closes immediately.
Audacity Portable/WinDirStat Portable (and probably more programs using the PortableApps.com Launcher)
"X:ProgramsWinDirStatPortableAppAppInfoLauncherWinDirStat Portable.ini is missing [Launch]:ProgramExecutable - what am I to launch?"
AIDA64 Program works but no icons appear.
There are more but I think those few suffice for now.
All of those programs work fine once I copy them to a local drive and run them from there. Windows 7 ran the very same programs from a network drive without any problems.
I won't even touch the fun stuff like how playing a video from my NAS causes downloads (to the NAS) to stop because of access errors.

Oct 30, 2015I an trying to run Autoroute on an Asus machine with Win 10 and get a message saying "your registry settings for this application were not copied correctly". This occurs when the program in installed from its original discs or from a new works disc. I think it previously ran OK since upgrading to Win 10 but cannot be 100% certain.

Oct 10, 2015I have reported it (and others) on the Nvidia forums. Doesn't seem to happen for light gaming for 5 minutes or so (and of course won't happen after playing solitaire) but after heavy gaming (Battlefield Hardline, the free Star Wars beta) for 30 minutes or so, after exiting most of the start menu is often blank. Takes a reboot to get it back.
I do not believe it's corruption issues on my OS or hardware issues. Things I've done:
1) SFC/scannow no issues
2) Ran this "Get-appxpackage -all *shellexperience* -packagetype bundle |% {add-appxpackage -register -disabledevelopmentmode ($_.installlocation + "appxmetadataappxbundlemanifest.xml")} to reregister icons.
3) Did a rebuild of the icon cache
4) Did extensive memory tests - all passed.
5) Turned off "game mode" in Antivirus
Machine Won't Start Correctly
Jan 3, 2016Because my Windows 10 machine won't start correctly, I'd like to make a Startup Repair USB drive. Apparently, the main way to do this is from within Windows 10, but that's obviously not an option.I have access to a Windows 7 computer. If I make a Startup Repair drive there, will it work on Windows 10?
If not, can I at least use it to boot my computer and run chkdsk and sfc?Is there some website where (using my other computer) I can download the image of the Windows 10 Startup Repair, or something like that?
Installation :: Computer Did Not Start Up Correctly
Jan 17, 2016I lost power throughout the night and my desktop keeps coming up with "your pc did not start correctly". Restarting it won't work either. When I troubleshot and do a "reset this pc" it keeps coming up with "there was a problem resetting your pc" no changes were made". Nothing is working for me.

When I tried to run the application, I immediately had the error message: The application was unable to start 0x0000022.
I uninstalled (RevoPro) and reinstalled: same thing. I contacted Support who told me to reinstall my OS!I checked to see if this applied to all my applications. I found one application that had the same error: Corel Draw x8. I tried others which ran OK.I ran sfc /scannow without any integrity violations.I temporarily turned off AVG and tried to run the application - same error. Unable To Access Settings - Application Has Failed To Start

I tried the command-line suggested and right after I hit enter, I get a flash of a window popping up on my screen and then it's gone. It's so quick I can't see what it's trying to open.
Apps :: User-installed Application Icons On Start Menu Went Away
Aug 18, 2015After pinning some user-installed applications to the Start Menu they looked fine. Today, all the icons that should be displayed in the buttons are gone. To determine what a given button does I have to hover over it, and the title appears in text. They still work to institute execution but are surely not the intuitive, user-friendly stuff we are suppose to applaud in W10.
Like my other problems of this nature, restart does nothing to correct the problem. And I cannot remove and reinstall the buttons since a right-click on them does absolutely nothing. All Windows provided buttons still have their icons, but right clicking on them does nothing either. I can drag-and-drop the icons around on the right side but cannot even resize them since a right-click is useless.

When I try to install/run game 'Halo2' on Win10 its refuses saying there is already a Live Gaming account running (Halo2 uses Live Gaming itself). I suspect the Xbox app (which also uses Live Gaming) is to blame for this. As I don't use or need the Xbox app can it be removed?

Nov 16, 2015My OS crashed each time I play games like FIfa 15 or CS GO. Had the issue when I was on win 8 and has now persisted in windows 10 as well. So first the the output from graphics card disappears afer 4-5 mins of usage and then PC freezes with some looping noise from the speakers.

Gaming :: Causing Lag With Online Gaming?
Jan 19, 2016I tried Windows 10 and found that Guild Wars 2 had such bad lag that it was unplayable. I had a ping of 1360 as one point when it had been in the 60-80 range previously. Internet web pages took painfully long to load. I have an excellent ISP and have never had complaints about internet access before. In searching forums I read that Window 10 has issues with data packet loss, excessive lag, etc. I went back to Windows 7 and this fixed the lag issue with Guild Wars 2 and Web Pages load instantly again, so I know Windows 10 was causing the problem. Windows 10 is safe for online gaming yet?

Sep 3, 2015I am unable to watch a movie or look at youtube videos when i am gaming at the same time. The symptom is that the video laggs but the audio is fine sometimes. its like its dropping frames but when i highlight chrome that i use the problem goes away. what could cause this. The problem started right after i installed windows 10.
I am using mpc-hc to watch movies and i am using chrome to watch youtube. I have tried internet explorer but the problem is still there.
Using windows 10, gtx 970 and 16 gigs of ram so my hardware can handle it.

Feb 10, 2016I have bought a Lenovo yoga 2 pro 2 weeks ago and upgraded win 8 to win 10 almost immediately. I have had this issue for some time, when I install some software. Some buttons are blocked or the text is too small. I have been having resolution problems as well which I solved by adjusting it but this issue doesn't go with changing it.

Taskbar Is Not Functioning Correctly?
Jan 6, 2016The taskbar for the last 2 weeks or so has not been working correctly. The Windows 10 start icon does not respond at all, along with the search icon, the speakers icon, the new notifications icon, and the calendar/date. The only icons working are the 'task view' icon and the 'show hidden icons' little arrow icon. The right click menu works on the start icon and the right click menu for the taskbar "properties" box also works, and that is about it. Of course any apps I have added or any default programs already present in the taskbar work also, although since I upgraded to Windows 10, I have noticed it is almost impossible to get a right click menu on an icon in the taskbar; very iffy at best, but mostly just completely non-existent.

It remains powered and the fan comes on and off when need. (Its only a small Atom CPU). Ive tried disabling USB selective suspend but that doesn't seem to have worked.
