Gaming :: FPS Drops By 20-30 Frames After 5 Minutes Of Playing
Feb 10, 2016
Anyways, I reupgraded to windows 10 lately and when I downloaded CSGO, I noticed that my fps drastically drops after 3-7 minutes of playing. Alt tabbing out and back in fixes it, but it happens again after 3-7 minutes. I don't really have any other games installed right now, so I can't check whether it's in all games or CSGO only. It does seem like it's in all games tho. What could be the problem? Temperatures are normal.
Recently my computer has been making my games stutter and lag. This never been a problem as I have 16 GB of RAM and Radeon r9 200 with an AMD 8 core processor. What can I do to fix this inconvenience? I already uninstalled my GPU driver with DDU and reinstalled them. Nothing happened. I noticed this issue the most in Xcom and Bioshock: Infinite
I did a clean install of Windows 10 Pro x64 on my HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 laptop and now my Wi-Fi drops on me about every 10 minutes then it takes about 1-2 minutes to reconnect. I previously had Windows 8.1 Pro x64 and had no issues on this laptop and I just upgraded a few days ago.
I've installed the correct drivers too. Windows does report something when I attempt a troubleshoot .
EDIT 1:So far I ran a troubleshooting and my internet has been solid for about 4 minutes now since. It solved some gateway error?..
The problem is still there and I have NO wifi yet without it disconnecting.

I have homebuilt core i7 930 running an asus p5 premium. Whether I use onboard sound (realtek), sound blaster pcix titanium, or sound blaster omni usb, I get strange behavior where the sound will drop out while I'm watching a tv app (hdhomerun, or kodi as well), or listening to music.. at random times, could be 5 minutes, could be 45 minutes. To get the sound back, if I click the speaker icon and click the bar that plays the windows ding, it plays (a little crackly during the first few milliseconds, then clear, like it's waking up) and then sound plays normally until this happens again. So it's propagating through multiple different drivers. I read somewhere that audio devices can sleep (I suppose laptops mainly? Maybe I read it wrong).
I am having this problem with my computer, where I am getting random BSOD's when i have been playing any game for about 5-10 minutes. The BSOD is either the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or the APC_INDEX_MISMATCH
I have attached my debug files here : debug-DESKTOP-DQ0658B-23-09-2015_190058,20.zip
i got a H97 gaming 3 gigabyte MB and i get a sound (like a robot) on windows 10 after a few minutes of gaming or watching a movie , if i switch my headset (HS40 raptor) to another USB it works fine for a few minutes then the sound becomes weird again.
I have an Old Dos Game that I was able to find in bin format and was trying to figure out how to play it on Windows 10. I was trying to figure out DosBox but maybe it's just me but it's too complicated.
Whenever i try to launch a game on windows 10 i can play normally for 3-20 minutes before Windows hangs (perm Freeze) and i have to restart.
I am having this problem on all the games i have tried (roblox, besiege, terraria, minecraft, team fortress 2) except pokemon tcgo, even browser games will crash. I have reinstalled Windows several times and the problem persists even after updating drivers. My pc was originally working fine and then it started doing this afer i installed .net fremework 3.5 for a game i installed (other games where working fine).
I did once even encounter a BSOD (KMODE_exception_not_handled) sometimes it even crashes at random (i am on a clean install) after inspecting pc i found my psu fan was not working.
after installing windows 10 (clean install) my laptop completely freezes, so far happend only while playing games. This is possibly related to nvidia gpu, because basicaly nothing else uses it. I dont get any error or bsod and nothing in the event log, it just hangs with the "bzzz" sound and i have to restart.
Games a tried playing are heroes of the storm and rocket league, got freezes playing both. Time it takes to freeze is random sometimes 10minutes and sometimes 3 hours.
I loved playing Solitaire in Win 7 but having an unusual problem playing the Solitaire app in Win 10. After about 15 minutes, the computer just shuts down. No warning, no error messages, no BSOD, nothing.
I can guarantee you it is not just a coincidence. My computer could be running for days without any problem but as soon as I start playing Solitaire this happens.
I have been running Windows builds for a while now. I am currently running the latest build/ RTM, and it lags quite a lot to be RTM. Scrolling in Edge or Chrome is not smooth most of the time, the cursor lags and skips frames. Modern apps take a lot of time to open, splash screens take a long time. Photoshop and Illustrator are slow. I have a pretty strong computer but it is not behaving like so.Should I clean install Windows 10? Would it fix it? And how do I do it?
I have reported it (and others) on the Nvidia forums. Doesn't seem to happen for light gaming for 5 minutes or so (and of course won't happen after playing solitaire) but after heavy gaming (Battlefield Hardline, the free Star Wars beta) for 30 minutes or so, after exiting most of the start menu is often blank. Takes a reboot to get it back.
I do not believe it's corruption issues on my OS or hardware issues. Things I've done:
1) SFC/scannow no issues
2) Ran this "Get-appxpackage -all *shellexperience* -packagetype bundle |% {add-appxpackage -register -disabledevelopmentmode ($_.installlocation + "appxmetadataappxbundlemanifest.xml")} to reregister icons.
Is there any way to Uninstall Xbox app & Live Gaming from Win10? When I try to install/run game 'Halo2' on Win10 its refuses saying there is already a Live Gaming account running (Halo2 uses Live Gaming itself). I suspect the Xbox app (which also uses Live Gaming) is to blame for this. As I don't use or need the Xbox app can it be removed?
When I used to use XP I could see a little yellow warning when it drops out. Now with win10 all it shows is a little white wifi connection symbol and it says it's connected to the network.
How can I have a monitor to see if my internet is connected in win10 NOT JUST THE WIFI NETWORK!
I solve one problem and another pops up to slow me down for half a day looking for solutions. I don't have a reliable connection any more, it keeps dropping out. I need to know these things because if I'm half way through a forum message or email then when I press send I lose the lot and have to type it all over again after refreshing the browser. I just need to know when it drops out so I can copy everything I've typed into the clipboard before I hit send.
My OS crashed each time I play games like FIfa 15 or CS GO. Had the issue when I was on win 8 and has now persisted in windows 10 as well. So first the the output from graphics card disappears afer 4-5 mins of usage and then PC freezes with some looping noise from the speakers.

I tried Windows 10 and found that Guild Wars 2 had such bad lag that it was unplayable. I had a ping of 1360 as one point when it had been in the 60-80 range previously. Internet web pages took painfully long to load. I have an excellent ISP and have never had complaints about internet access before. In searching forums I read that Window 10 has issues with data packet loss, excessive lag, etc. I went back to Windows 7 and this fixed the lag issue with Guild Wars 2 and Web Pages load instantly again, so I know Windows 10 was causing the problem. Windows 10 is safe for online gaming yet?
I am unable to watch a movie or look at youtube videos when i am gaming at the same time. The symptom is that the video laggs but the audio is fine sometimes. its like its dropping frames but when i highlight chrome that i use the problem goes away. what could cause this. The problem started right after i installed windows 10.
I am using mpc-hc to watch movies and i am using chrome to watch youtube. I have tried internet explorer but the problem is still there.
Using windows 10, gtx 970 and 16 gigs of ram so my hardware can handle it.
Trying to record KSP with the screen recorder, but it will only record for exactly 10 seconds then say 'There's nothing to record. Play some more and try again.' I have tried it windowed and then on a couple other games, same thing. Graphics driver is up to date.MVI 4064 -
On installing Win !0 there was no wireless function, but win 10 initialised the card however when the laptop sleeps the card drops out and it has to be reset every time the card is Intel(R) Pro/Wireless 3945ABG. If the laptop is kept awake there is no problemĀ
PC sound, when I play music from for example spotify the sound drops when the bass hits and after the bass the audio turns up again. Its very annoying especially when I play games. I have tried with different equalizer programs but it doesn't work.
I updated my PC to windows 10 on the 29th , and for the 1st few days i had no issues what so ever. However now, whenever im say Playing a game and watching youtube or netflix my net will drop and can only be fixed by a restart. It "seems" ok if I am just doing 1 thing at once, say on this very forum for example, but if i opened a few windows now and started streaming something it would for sure drop. My internet is 100mb fiber optic, and all other devices connected to my hub are fine (PC is wired connection, this is the only thing having a issue, i have a wired xbox one which is fine, and wireless works perfect.)
I've tried ipconfig/flushdns - did nothing I've tried swapping my settings to google ( 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) - did nothing. I've even tried turning off firewall as i saw someone say that could cause this issue - did nothing.
I know i could just roll back to windows 7 and that would probably fix everything, but i really like windows 10 and would rather fix it if possible.
So i currently have a MSI GT80 Titan running killer wireless 1525 network adapter and am constantly seeing network drops to the point where i get an exclamation mark over my wireless icon and no activity. Connection shows connected but no speed, only until i manually disconnect and reconnect. This has been happening since earlier this week after having the laptop off for a couple days and i'm sure some updates came in from Microsoft.
Steps I've taken already to resolve this:
1. Uninstalled killer wireless software suite and installed stand alone killer driver 2. Refreshed the PC with clean windows 10 install 3. All drivers are up to date including BIOS 4. Ran ccleaner along with registry side of it 5. Memtest shows no errors 6. Hard drives show no errors 7. Connected to LAN and no drops all day
I'm not sure what else to check as this is a fairly new laptop bought back in march and doing some searching on google showed some posts about people with the same issues (different laptops/hardware) thinking it was related to Windows 10.
I upgraded to Win10 yesterday. upgrade could be a keyword for the future but since I upgraded everything has been perfect except my connection to the Internet. It's fine on startup but once I go on Edge, Chrome, steam or Skype it stops about 3 minutes in when using them. It doesn't come back unless I restart.
I'm using a Ethernet connect. All wireless devices are working fine, My LAN adapter is a Broadcom Netlink Gigabyte Ethernet. Turning router off and on again doesn't work. All drivers are up to date, apparently. No vpn.
I removed my McAfee to see if that changed anything but still no luck.
I don't know what to do now because this goes beyond my knowledge of windows 10 and computers.
My PC is over 5 years old, maybe that's a factor but it still surpassed all the requirements to run Windows 10
This brings me back to Upgrading and not full fresh install. I've too many family photos and other valuable projects. I dont have an external hard drive either, which I need soon as my current one is getting louder, but that's not the issue here. I just want to get on the Internet and enjoy my 120mb Internet speed!
I recently changed my wifi Mac Id using Technetium as my original ID got blocked. I had to reinstall the drivers and restart the PC to get the Network card working. But that it is fine, the Wifi connection disconnects every 5 minutes or so. I have a Broadcomm 802.11n adapter Driver version: 7.35.290 dated 6/07/2015.
when I use my internal card reader when I eject the card (does not matter which type) I am seeing its ok to remove the card but then should I want to put another card in too read my reader does not work until I reboot its a usb reader was working in w7pro with no problem
