View 3 Repliesi can't minimize games in win10, when the game have same resolution from desktop.
View 1 RepliesMy games now crash straight to the desktop now. GTA V, MGS V, Just Cause 3, very strange I don't know if it was a Windows update or something with Nvidia? I rolled back drivers and still the same, it was doing it before this update but out of the blue. It worked fine before, great frame rates.
If I shut down and start up and load Just Cause, it got to the menu, but crashed right after. Once it got a few seconds into the game but was running 10 fps never had that before.
Strangely I can run LEGO Jurassic World and Disney Infinity just fine. What could be wrong? Bad GPU?
INTEL XEON CPU E5 2650 0 @ 2GHZ
32GB RAM
GTX 970
NVIDIA DRIVER 361.75
WIN 10 PRO
My games simply crash to desktop without any warning, it only occurs with demanding titles, such as BF4 and the recent Black Desert Online, hell even with Warframe.
I did some research and there was some mentions of memory sticks, but I've run a memtest on my memory just before re-installing my windows and there were no errors with 8 passes.
I did do a fresh install of windows quite recently but this issue existed before the re-install as well. I am thinking maybe my graphic card is faulty?
I am having a problem with games freezing on my windows 10 pc. The games that have been freezing are GTA 3, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas and Team Fortress 2. GTA V is working fine without any freezes. if i reboot my pc all games are working fine, the freezing usually happens when the pc have been on for a few hours and happens randomly. the games actually start but is really slow, i can skip the intro cutscenes but after that i cant do anything. I can Ctrl + Alt + Delete and close the games and the pc is working just fine its just the games that wont work.
View 3 RepliesI have an Old Dos Game that I was able to find in bin format and was trying to figure out how to play it on Windows 10. I was trying to figure out DosBox but maybe it's just me but it's too complicated.
View 5 RepliesA few months ago I installed a windows 7 security update, and my computer basically turned to crap. Most programs couldn't be run unless I opened them in compatibility mode for vista, and games were very laggy. I fixed most of the problems by updating to windows 10, but the game lag is still here. I've updated all of my drivers, but I still can't seem to find the issue. Admittedly, my graphics card is quite bad, but I could still run a lot of games at low settings decently, but now most are abysmal. Oddly enough, there a few games that run just as well as they did before the update. They are Sniper Elite 2, Diablo III, Elder Scrolls online, and nearly all single player games. However, no other game, at least that I've tried, can run. What's causing this lag, and why these games in specific run fine?
View 2 RepliesAnyway, for one thing my start menu is stuck on full-screen, despite the fact that I never set this to happen and the settings say it isn't on. Second (and more importantly), minimizing all windows does not take me to the desktop as it should, and sends me to the start menu. It seems that the desktop is completely inaccessible, at that. It also automatically sends me to the start menu when I close the application/file I'm looking at. I can still access the files there through the file explorer (the files linked to shortcuts can be found elsewhere and non-shortcut files are in the 'Desktop' folder) ...
View 2 RepliesI have Windows 7 pro installed and then upgraded to windows 10 with latest updates etc for it. it is installed on C drive like normal. i have another hard drive G that i use to install bunch of PC games ranging from new to old. I noticed that when some of the pc games want to install Direct X componets, MS .net redistro packs etc an error occurs saying i do not have Admin rights to do this. I know Win10 comes with Directx 11 and that the pc games have direct X 10 so i do not need that updated every time a game asks same goes with the redistro packs for .net and other comparable components do i need to install these components everytime i install a game? why am i getting an error in which i have to be an admin when i already am in the admin group.
View 1 RepliesI have a 9" Irulu 16 GB Android 4.4 tablet about a week ago. Just bought a chromecast, the new version. $45 Cdn before taxes.
I have limited experience with Android tablet and none in Chromecast.
After 2 hours failing to "set me up", I finally found out I had to install the Chromecast app from Google Store. Nobody told me that. I thought the chromecast I bought was all I needed.
I did that and I am now able to watch movies on my TV by clicking at the Chromecast icon at top right corner of my tablet screen.
BUT, how to play games on TV. I have games installed from Google Play Store. When I open a game, I cannot see the Chromecast icon like I see when I want to watch movies on TV.
My chromcast package box shows a list of 7 items one of which is Google Play store. So I have to assume I can use chromecast to play google games. But I can't.
I can't open 2 games. Of course i can play just 1, but i need to put one in taskbar (SAMP) and when i want to open other game (it doesn't matter what game [League of Legends or something else]), the second game i open crashes.
View 2 RepliesAs title says. I'm not able to "isolate" just PC games in Windows Store (the icon on taskbar). And I can't find Gears of War, Rise of the Tomb Raider, etc..
View 2 RepliesWhenever i try to launch a game on windows 10 i can play normally for 3-20 minutes before Windows hangs (perm Freeze) and i have to restart.
I am having this problem on all the games i have tried (roblox, besiege, terraria, minecraft, team fortress 2) except pokemon tcgo, even browser games will crash. I have reinstalled Windows several times and the problem persists even after updating drivers. My pc was originally working fine and then it started doing this afer i installed .net fremework 3.5 for a game i installed (other games where working fine).
I did once even encounter a BSOD (KMODE_exception_not_handled) sometimes it even crashes at random (i am on a clean install) after inspecting pc i found my psu fan was not working.
I had five games installed on my son's laptop before upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10. These games were all running perfectly before the upgrade, but now only two of the five will launch.
The ones that won't open, are Gardenscapes, Mortimer Beckett and the Lost King, and Mortimer Beckett and the Crimson Thief.
They are all still in the Games folder. Is there a way of getting them to launch, or will I have to uninstall and then reinstall them?
I play some Microsoft games, such as Microsoft Mahjong in my Windows 10 computer. I thought that if I install the game in another computer using my Microsoft account, I would be able to see all the levels I have played and continue from there. This is not the case. The game starts from level 1. Is there any way to save your progress to your Microsoft account or otherwise and resume playing from another computer? Like when you save your progress on Facebook in Android games and then resume from another device.
I only use my Microsoft account for specific apps. I don't want to connect my local Windows account to my Microsoft account, if this is possible.
Something has changed in win 10 on my pc. Games that have been running perfectly suddenly are telling me that I have to 'use administrator privileges' to play and are refusing to open. I have just reinstalled Doom 3 again to see if it fixed the fault - nothing. I am wondering if this coincided with my running CCleaner a few days ago, all went haywire after that, so I uninstalled CCleaner.
View 2 Repliesafter installing windows 10 (clean install) my laptop completely freezes, so far happend only while playing games. This is possibly related to nvidia gpu, because basicaly nothing else uses it. I dont get any error or bsod and nothing in the event log, it just hangs with the "bzzz" sound and i have to restart.
Games a tried playing are heroes of the storm and rocket league, got freezes playing both. Time it takes to freeze is random sometimes 10minutes and sometimes 3 hours.
Heres some HW info [URL].....
I've recently setup a secondary monitor, but the mouse simply wont lock into the screen where the game is being played (total war) and if i do end up clicking somewhere on the secondary monitor the game will be minimized which is bothersome, I have tried borderless and fullscreen but in vain.
Another issue I've had is that the secondary screen (1600x900) gets some flicker/lines whenever i use vga to connect it, but it works superb with dvi, why?
Now another thing is that when i move the mouse/cursor from the top right corner of the main monitor(1920x1080) it wont switch over to the secondary one(my idea being that the res/size is different).

I upgraded to Windows 10 today. I have two issues.
1. I play a game called "Starcraft II" and I have a problem with the game minimizing and maximizing sometimes very slowly, every 5th attempt or so. During this time it takes up to 40 seconds for the game to go through with the maximizing/minimizing process, and ending the task with task manager is not possible.
I have tried messing with MSConfig and reinstalling the game. No luck.
2. I have an old HDD on my PC installed with windows 7, and on my windows 7 SSD installation I could simply search for shortcuts I placed from my HDD into my SSD. This is no longer possible.
I've recently updated to W10, and am hoping I'm missing a shortcut for maximising snapped windows.
I'm the sort of person that likes to minimise mouse use. I'm used to snapping windows to the left or right using the shortcut "Start + Left/Right Arrow". I can still use this, and I generally like the Snap Assist functionality that now comes with it.
However, I am currently finding it quite annoying to use keyboard shortcuts to get out of this view (i.e. when you have 1 screen snapped left and 1 screen snapped right). The only shortcut I can find for maximising a screen is "Start + Up Arrow", however this will instead snap it to the top quadrant (on its respective side), and snap assist will ask you what you want to snap to the bottom quadrant. From what I can see, you then have to Esc out of this and then try "Start + Up Arrow" again.
Is there not a keyboard shortcut to maximise directly from a snapped window? It's currently taking 3 keyboard shortcuts, which is sort of a paradox.
It sounds fairly basic, but it's quite annoying when you are regularly snapping windows to left/right, and something I could do easily on W7.
For completeness, steps to reproduce:
1. Have several windows open in W10, (min. 3). Also, have snap assist turned on in settings
2. "Start + Left Arrow" to snap active screen to left. Snap assist should appear on right
3. Use Arrow Keys and Enter to select a window to snap to right
Imagine working on these screens for a bit
4. Now try to maximise a window, use shortcut "Start + Up Arrow" - doesn't work, screen will snap to top left/right
5. Press Esc to exit Snap Assist
6. Again try to maximise window, use shortcut "Start + Up Arrow"
Any way to end the process at step 4, that would be lovely!
I've made sure my games aren't muted, reinstalled realtek drivers, changed output sources, ...restarted the computer..., verified game cache, so on so on.
I thought it was just for steam games, but it happens in Origin, Uplay, and Minecraft as well. Twice now loading the defaults in UEFI bios has temporarily fixed it., but it doesn't work every time.
Haven't changed anything, have the latest updates for everything, and i don't have a virus.
Here's my rig : [URL] .....
Previously if I double clicked the shortcuts of Steam, Origin and Uplay while they were running instantly maximized their windows. Now if I double click them it takes a long time before they are maximized as if the computer is reloading them from scratch. I also have GOG Galaxy as a shortcut but it does not happen with that icon. What do you think changed?
The only thing that IO think might be related is that I disabled indexing of C drive but I later found that it was not a good idea and changed it back to indexing enabled.
I have a Barebone PC (Gigabyte GB-BXI3H-5010) which was running Windows 8.1, and now it has been upgraded to Windows 10. I use this PC to run a home server with Plex media server and Plex Home Theater - so I've got it connected to the TV, and the PC is always on. So when I turn on the TV, I have to press any button on the keyboard or move the mouse for the graphics card to kick in, which is fine. But when it does, it goes to a blank desktop. There's nothing there. I can see the open apps listed in the start tray, but none of them open. I'm quite confused to be honest. It's connected via HDMI to an LG TV.
View 1 RepliesI move the icos to where I want them but as soon as I refresjh the Desktop they go to the left in an unordered fashion.
Now, I want to go back to 8.1 but would like to know if I can migrate back to Windows 10 in the future when all the bugs are sorted out.
First, my desktop icons keep reverting back to default positions. I place my shortcuts at custom locations in my desktop and when I refresh, they go back to the left. And whenever I restart my computer, they change back to the default large icon size.
I've searched the web on how to fix this and I haven't been able to find a working solution on this problem.
Then, Edge is now having a problem too. Edge starts just fine but the problem shows up when you type in a website you wanna go to. It will just sit there doing nothing. It's responding but it's just not doing anything... If you click the open new tab (The plus button) nothing happens. When you try to close it, nothing happens too....
I can still browse the web using other browsers (chrome for example) so it must be on Edge's side.I've ran virus scans with ESET and Windows Defender and they haven't found a virus so I'm pretty sure my computer is clean.
I have reported it (and others) on the Nvidia forums. Doesn't seem to happen for light gaming for 5 minutes or so (and of course won't happen after playing solitaire) but after heavy gaming (Battlefield Hardline, the free Star Wars beta) for 30 minutes or so, after exiting most of the start menu is often blank. Takes a reboot to get it back.
I do not believe it's corruption issues on my OS or hardware issues. Things I've done:
1) SFC/scannow no issues
2) Ran this "Get-appxpackage -all *shellexperience* -packagetype bundle |% {add-appxpackage -register -disabledevelopmentmode ($_.installlocation + "appxmetadataappxbundlemanifest.xml")} to reregister icons.
3) Did a rebuild of the icon cache
4) Did extensive memory tests - all passed.
5) Turned off "game mode" in Antivirus
