View 1 RepliesIt has been doing this EVERY time I restart or start up my computer. It is very annoying as it clears some of my apps. It also says it is putting me on a temporary account or something like that.
View 1 RepliesWhenever I open a folder and position it on desktop whereI want it to be, after closing and reopening it again, it repositions. With a few opening-closings I realized that every time I open the folder anew, it gets repositioned a bit lower, diagonally. This wasn't happening on Windows 8.1. Is there any way to keep the folder in the same position every time I open it?
View 9 Repliesevery time I double-click a folder in Windows Explorer, it opens in a new window. I know there have been problems on this in earlier versions of Windows.The ONLY time a folder opens in a new window, is when the folder is located in the PICTURES folder. On some occurrences, the folder I'm clicking is opening twice.
Another strange thing I noticed, is when I delete something. When I used to delete something, the folder would automatically update and remove the file without me needing to do anything. Now, I have to refresh the folder I'm in to actually be able to see the picture I deleted gone.Making sure the registry key of HKCRFolder is empty.Running the sfc /scannow command in an elevated command promptChecking the Explorer options for opening a folder in the same window or a different one on and off.Checking the double-click and single-click options on and off.Making sure I do not have this "Vault" program that everyone is talking about... Explaning the .GIF I linked (if you didn't understand it).I'm double-clicking a folder within the PICTURES folder.Two windows open of the folder I clicked. There are now currently 3 windows openI close the two windows, and redirect into the MUSIC folder.I double-click a folder in MUSIC and the folder opens in the same window.
After after upgrading my laptop to windows 10 , I found a small blank white window at left side when it woke up from sleep.It last till restart.
View 1 RepliesWindows 10 keep re-sizing my firefox windows when i wake up my computer from sleep. And the windows 10 start menu is also opens up. I would like to fix both these issues.
View 1 RepliesWow yet another problem that has hit me since my conversion to windows 10, this morning before i left for work booted up my pc and it got as far "configuring window do not switch off computer" I sat there wathcing it get to 100% and it rebooted itself only to repeat message and all I now get is a boot loop to this message and nothing else.
Getting into the repair window is a task in its own having to switch off pc while windows loading a few times before it get to the repair bit as I have tried all the F4,5,6,7,8 route and nothing and not wanting to have to go into bios everytime to change boot sequence find switcing off pc is best.
Now that windows install all updates and one has no say on the matter looks lik this is going to be a problem becasue if you get a bad update what do you do because updates dont ask you it downloads to pc without your permission but getting back to my problem how to prevent this from happening again because I am tired of having to restore the pc to a previous restore point.
My brother set up installed the new windows 10 on the pc and for some reason the pc username is now his name, is registered on his email and also uses his password. I cant seem to change this because everytime i press on "Change Account Settings" a window pops up and then closes right after. no message is shown and no error is visible, what can i do to fix this?
View 1 RepliesWhen I left click the start up icon I get a message: Critical Error, Start Up Window isn't functioning. Will try to fix when you re-start. The Error message prevents all other windows from opening. When I click the message, the system re-boots, but the Error continues.
If I do not left click the icon, everything works properly, and when I right click the icon, everything works too, including the shut down process, the searches, etc.
I did the upgrade and know my start window wont work I cant get to the apps or shortcut windows....
View 1 RepliesIs it possible to ad a web site icon/tile to the start window.
For some reason the google web site icon is there, but I would like to add a few more of web sites I frequently visit.
The right click on a web site URL does not give the option of creating a tile/icon on the start menu.
Each morning when I wake up, my computer is on, rather than in sleep mode, as I left it. I have disabled the power of the mouse to wake it.

View 1 RepliesI upgraded to 10 Home yesterday and everything seemed to work fine. Today after deleting several files from my photos the system hung and I had to do a power off reboot. After that the start menu wont come up and the search window won't accept any text. Right click on the start menu does respond and seems to work properly. I also did a sys. file chk., it said that some files were corrupted and not repairable.
View 2 RepliesWhen Windows 10 is functioning normally, you can hold the Windows/Start-key down and press the arrow keys to move and resize the active window.
(i.e. Start-key + left moves the window to the left half of your screen;
Start-key + right moves the window to the right half of your screen;
Start-key + up maximizes the window to the full screen;
Start-key + down minimizes the window to the taskbar)
In my computer I use Windows 10 x64 and I have 6 GB of RAM installed. I face the problem of high usage of Ram from System process. Although I hear that this is something normal for Windows 10, this tends to freeze my PC or prompts me to close running programs although I do not have that much open. I updated all my drivers, I also tried everything proposed in various solutions around the web but the problem still exists. Could it be some update of Microsoft? A friend of mine running Windows 7 with 8GB RAM installed in his computer, faces the same problem the last weeks too.
View 1 RepliesWhen I click to start some programs, I get this AFS Error Info window. After clicking OK, I then get the UAC window. Except for the extra step, nothing goes wrong--it's just annoying. Sometimes programs requiring a UAC show this AFS error, sometimes not. What this is and how to stop it?
View 9 RepliesI am really frustrated trying to install Windows 10 from Windows 7 Home Premium in my MSI S6000 laptop. I click on the "Get Windows 10" icon and a window pops-up saying: "Your free Windows 10 upgrade is here!" I click on the button "OK Let's continue" and that is the end of it. I see the wheel rotating for an hour or two and nothing happens. Nothing gets downloaded and no other window pops up. I have pops up allowed, and everything else is at the default settings. What is wrong with y Windows 10 upgrade?
View 1 RepliesI'm having issues accessing both the Wifi Panel and the Windows Start Menu from task bar at the bottom of the home screen. When I left-click on with it does nothing. I can right-click on the icons but still unable to open either. Wifi shows a connection (Wifi icon) but still unable to connect to internet. Other items in the task bar are accessible with no problems. Unable to download/update anything because of the inability to access the internet.
View 1 RepliesAs the title states, my computer will turn off the display or go to sleep (not sure of correct terminology) when I go idle for a short period of time. For instance, I get up to get a glass of water and when I come back, the screensaver is up and I need to re-enter my password. This problem arose immediately after the installing of windows 10 on my PC (upgraded from Windows 8.1).
I have already gone to control panel ~> power options but the thing is, even though I've already done that and set the options to "Never turn off display", "Never go to sleep" as shown in the screenshot, my PC still turns off display/sleeps after a short amount of time.
After maybe 10 minutes, I get a complete freeze and I need to restart my computer. After many attempts of restarting, it usually works fine if it doesn't freeze in the first half an hour. I attached the log.
View 9 RepliesOn my Desktop, whenever I go to Start > Power > Sleep , when I come back from Sleep the Start window is still open. In Windows 7 we came back to a clean desktop. It does this on 3 PCs.

View 1 RepliesI'm facing a very weird problem with Windows 10 on my new laptop. Every time I boot up or even wake from hibernate, my keyboard repeat rate gets reset to the slowest setting. I notice this only when I start using word or email.
The weirder thing is, in the keyboard settings window the setting would always be shown as "Fast", but actually it would be slow. To make it fast, I have to drag it to slow and then to fast again.
Every time I connect my phone to my computer to charge it, the Photo app searches for new photos. How can I turn this annoying thing off? Couldn't find any button in the settings.
