Groove Music Deleting Tracks On Laptop And OneDrive?
Aug 9, 2015
Ever since the app updated to Groove Music I've been having problems with random tracks disappearing.
I have 156 Gb of music on my laptop and in order to share it with my other devices I added it to OneDrive but whenever I open Groove Music my Recycle Bin gets filled with random tracks from different artists, albums and sub-folders. The tracks are different every time and there is no pattern as to how many are deleted.
I've been waving the flag for the new ecosystem for quite some time now. This is ridiculous. We're out of beta, you have more than enough to allocate in dev/testing/qa resources, how on earth did this slip through? Is Groove Music muting/pausing/stopping for anyone else when they minimize? I have to leave it open to continue to hear music which isn't the end of the world but this bug really shouldn't have survived beta testing.
I'm just going to open mp3 files with Groove Music, but in open with option there is no Groove Music but it can run the Groove Music, any ways to restore it?
I'm unable to add new folders in groove music app on my PC. When I click on 'Choose where we look for music', nothing happens. If there is any way to solve this problem or to restore the music app.
for some reason i can't get Groove Music to actually do anything it show my albums/music, but i can't click on any of it.and when i use Window Media Player, that works fine.
Having problems seeing their online music collection from Groove?
When Microsoft allowed streaming from OneDrive, I uploaded my entire music collection and started using this service. Everything worked great on Win8.1 with Xbox Music. Now on Groove I can only see 24 (out of 500+) when I use the 'On OneDrive' filter. There's nothing special about these albums, so I don't know why it's only limited to these.
I wonder if it has anything to do with this ridiculous policy of no longer allowing placeholders in OneDrive and forcing people to do selective sync? I can't sync my music folder locally as I don't have enough space on my hard disk (that's the whole point of cloud storage.....)
Just out of curiousity, do you prefer using Groove Music or WMP for playing music files? I have hardly used Groove Music except for certain file types. WMP is still good as ever Is Microsoft going to provide future updates for it?
i have never used Groove for music simply because I have an iPhone so my music management has always been iTunes. But I was curious about groove. One thing I can't find any info for is if you was to buy a music track from groove/Windows store what file format is downloaded? On iTunes it's typically an m4a format
i noticed that after updating to build 10547 i cant play music and minise the app anymore. this but happened a while ago back on windows 8 and it just went away i think but its very annoying, i have to use vlc to listen to music now and i like groove music
Windows 10's Groove Music app ignores every modification I make to albums downloaded from the Microsoft Store. Whether it's song/album titles or cover art, Groove continues to display the music as it was before my changes, while other media players have no problems displaying it with the correct information.
I am not signed into my Microsoft account, and automatic retrieval is disabled. The problem continues to occur even after I've reinstalled the application.
This is not okay at all. How can I make them not mute when I minimize them? Someone asked me to go to Settings>Privacy>BackGround Apps.iHeart radio is set to on and that has no difference. Groove music is not listed.
Okay, this is a really weird one. For the last 2 months I've been experiencing this reoccurring issue on my new Dell XPS 13 laptop where 1-2 times a day, the audio will suddenly get extremely staticy. It generally will last at least 1 minute but sometimes significantly longer, and will affect all audio, including Windows alert sounds and even the "Playback device" test sound. This affects both the internal laptop speakers and any AUX device. I have not experienced the issue when audio is played through HDMI/DP, but I haven't been able to test it enough to know for certain.
However, there is one exception that I have only discovered today: the audio issue does NOT affect any files played through Win10's new default player, Groove. I have played exactly the same audio file on both VLC and Groove "even concurrently" to confirm.
I've posted a link below to an MP3 recording of it: [URL]
I've spoken to Dell and we have tried countless fixes that I've tried to list below, but the problem persists:
Fresh reinstall of Windows Replaced motherboard (twice?) Uninstalled Realtek audio drivers Updated BIOS Tried changing all settings in the Realtek HD Audio Manager Probably 4-5 other issues
Spent the best part of a day fixing my PC after a W10 upgrade this morning. All seems to be working well now except that I have an issue with a couple of Metro apps - those named in the title. What happens is that the apps open and then automatically close themselves after about a second. The main Store app opens fine as do all other Metro apps. Its just these two..
Is it ok to delete Music, pictures, and videos folders from C:/Users/user? I recall this not working and having to hack the registry a bit to make it work in Windows 7. How can I do it in Windows 10? I really don't need these folders as I find they just clutter up my file explorer and anyway I choose to store my media elsewhere.
I followed the directions given by Microsoft here, but I'm having problems because the folder my music is on is on the D drive. OneDrive is installed on the C drive. OneDrive only seems to read data off the drive it is installed on so it doesn't see my music.
I tried installing the OneDrive software to my D drive, but it just kept crashing.
I tried just manually dragging and dropping the music folder onto the OneDrive using Chome, but it stopped once it hit the 15 GB storage limit. I have 40 GB of music.
I thought I read that you can upload up to 50,000 songs and it won't count against your OneDrive storage, but I'm not having luck with this as it is counting it against my total space even though I am putting everything in a folder named Music on the OneDrive.
I don't sync my OneDrive music folder because it contains too much data. However, everytime I open Groove music, it creates a folder called Music in my local onedrive space. This folder then tries to sync and gives a conflict.
I have all my media, music and movies sitting on a ReadyNAS 516 and have the shares mapped to Win 10 just fine. I can access all my media from the OS and other applications just fine. The issue is when I add "where to look" from both Groove Music and Movies and TV app, they never pick up my media and add to the available media for playback.
Since i upgraded to win 10 i could not play music from my phone through laptop speakers via bluetooth. I could send and receive files to and fro via Bluetooth and the phone also gets connected/paired without any issues, but the music playing option is not happening. My previous OS win 7 had no problems in playing the music.I have a dell inspiron 15R laptop and asus zenfone 4 mobile. My phone specs shows it supports A2DP ( and it used to play in win 7).
what setting or whatever I need so when I copy CD's, ALL the tracks will copy to my computer? Sometimes I am getting a message that a track wouldn't copy.
A few weeks ago, my laptop started falling asleep in the middle of me listening to music, podcasts, etc. It never used to do this. I have the time set to turn off the screen after a minute, and then a minute after to fall asleep. Before this started being an issue, it would not fall asleep if an audio stream was in use, but now if I am on battery power, it will. This morning when my laptop was plugged in, I set the time to turn off the screen and fall asleep to a minute for when it is plugged in, and it wouldn't fall asleep while I was listening to music, so this seems to only be an issue when I'm running off of battery power.
