Downloaded Windows 10 on my HP Pavillion Sleekbook 14 and was not able to connect to my home WiFi. Reinstalled 8.1 and all was back to normal. Is there a new network driver I should download?

View 1 RepliesI have a Dell Latitute E5530 laptop that won't connect to my secured home SSID. I have 2 other laptops connected to it wireless, plus phones, plus 2 TV's (via a Roku and a Chromecast). I thought there might be a limit to what I can connect (i.e., 5 devices), however I brought home a 2nd laptop from work and that connected with no issue while the Dell Latitude still cannot. I don't even get the option to type in the Password Key, it simply says "Cannot connect to the network". I'm able to connect to an unsecured network with this same machine, no problem. I've tried reset the network adapter, I'm just stumped at this as to why this computer won't connect.
View 3 RepliesAs stated in the subject line I can't connect my Windows 7 Pro system to a Windows 10 Home system via the network without a password being required. Strangely, I can connect from the Windows 7 Pro system to two other Windows 7 Home Premium systems on the same network without a password being required.
Also, all these systems (including the Windows 10 Home system) can connect to the Windows 7 Pro system without any password being required. How I can eliminate the requirement for a password to access the Windows 10 Home system from the Windows 7 Pro system? The Windows 10 Home system version number is 1511, build 10586.0.
I have a home network with two computers running Windows 10 build 10130 and several computers running Linux.
Under Windows 7 and 8.1 all computers would connect to each other correctly for file and printer sharing.
Under Windows 10 I can only connect to the other Windows 10 computer.
I have checked out all settings in Advanced Sharing Settings.
I recently upgraded one of my laptops from Win7 Pro to Win10 Pro. Ever since then it has been taking a much longer time for the laptop to connect to either of my home networks (two different homes). This is with either WiFi or Ethernet.
When it was running Win7 it would connect to either home's network in a few seconds. Now it usually takes over a minute, as much as two minutes. Once it does connect everything works fine.
I upgraded mu Alienware M14 from 7 to 10 using the Media creation tool, and now have no WiFi. Ethernet and Bluetooth both show fine, and a wired connection works perfectly, however, not being able to use WiFi puts a damper on the portability of said laptop.
I've tried the reg delete method, which informs me the key is not found, there was no VPN software installed. I do show a network adaptor under unknown devices, but no matter which driver I choose, it is unable to start. Short of a clean installation, and the loss of personal files and/or hours restoring them or reinstalling.
when i use my laptop at home, it can connect to my wifi without any problems.
when i get to work, it refuses to connect to our wifi network. i have the correct password and user name. the wifi is turned on. i restarted the computer and that didnt work. I've tried everything i can think of, including the trouble shoot guide.
i have tried connecting to my school's apartment however it always goes to no connections are available and then airplane mode and shows connections are available. the Wi-Fi connects just fine in all other areas of the school byt not in my apartment. The apartment is located inside the school and there are a couple of access points. I can connect to my friends Wii-U just fine but not my laptop? The network shows up as available but when I hit connect it says "cannot connect to this network". When I run the troubleshooter it give me the error 'problems with wireless adapter or access point - not fixed'. I have restarted the computer and the router and made sure the drivers are up to date.

View 1 RepliesI purchased a new computer running Windows 10 (build 10240) today and have set up the windows. However, it will not allow me to connect to my WiFi. When I use the network option in the task bar, no wifi networks are shown and it says that there are no connections available. When I access the network settings, where the different sections are listed on the left-hand side, WiFi is not an available option.

I have a PC out in my building and it runs off wifi, sometimes my modem shuts down and reboots but it will take like 5-10 minutes unless I go all the way back to the house and power cycle it. The problem is my windows 10 is set to auto connect to it but never does unless I click the wifi drop down list then it will reconnect, any application that tries to reconnect to a specific wifi more aggressively than windows 10 it gets annoying because if I need to use the pc I cant just look across the room to see if my modem is back.

View 6 RepliesThe computer is at my dad's so I am relaying what he told me. It is a new Cell laptop, a quad i7 CPU with 10 Home ed.
He has a problem: everything that uses WIFI, that is Explorer, Skype, Firefox has long freezes. The connect is practically intermittent. None of his other devices (another Dell quad i5 laptop, an old Core duo Dell laptop not his Galaxy tablet, or his internet TV) have the problem. It is one network which is from his cable company wifi router.
I am thinking reinstalling WiFi driver first..
Brought a new Dell laptop and came with windows 10 and i can't get it to connect to wifi. It worked perfectly at my mums, but at home it says wifi password incorrect when its not. I have updated drivers, disabled and enabled the wireless adapter. In command prompt i type ipconfig/renew it says no operation can be performed.

I have an odd issue with my laptop since upgrading to Windows 10. The first time I boot I cannot connect to my home Wifi, however when I reboot I can. It is always the same every time I switch it on in that it will only connect on the second boot.

View 7 RepliesI have just bought a new windows 10 machine. It finds my home WIFI but fails to connect with the message "Can't connect to this network".
I have tried all the obvious issues such as re-booting (every component). I have several windows 7 machines and have checked the configuration of the wireless adaptors and there is nothing different around security, or 802 protocol selected etc. I have tuned off IP version 6 after reading some forums but get the same error.

My first experience with Windows 10 has been extremely frustrating and wasted a lot of time. I see that this is also a very common problem. Equally frustrating is the lack of diagnostic from Windows...I appear to have no way of knowing why the connection failed (hence why I have shown the router log).
