After installing windows 10 over a 64 bit version of Windows 8.1, my HP 3800 scanner status says driver not installed. I was unable to find the requisite driver within windows or on the net, even on the HP site. Question is will a previous windows 8.1 driver work?

All I can find is windows live essentials, but when i look at the programs it will install this is not shown...
Has MS renamed Windows Live Photo Gallery and just called it Photo gallery ?
Have a zillion photos to tag and if I use an MS product it will be tagged within the photo unlike Picasa so will be better for my purposes, unless there is an alternative which adopts the MS tagging...

View 5 RepliesHave Z97 GAMING 5 (MS7917) 1.0 MoBo with Intel Core i7 4790K Just clean installed Windows 10 after upgrade from 7 Pro, but had issues with a Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250GB with MBR instead of the prefered one. Had to EUFI instead of BIOS, and apparently, my data drive (ST4000DM0001F2168) was converted and made the system disk to boot from. Anyway, Windows 10 starts and all, but it will not connect to the internet, 'no network drivers are available'. I downloaded the AMI Bios flash v1.b and updated that. Also downloaded MSI LiveUpdate 6 and installed it via USB stick, but nothing shows up on the scans as it cannot connect.
This all started because the stupid "USB Device not recognized" error message kept popping up and Chrome became so slow back in Windows 7. I did everything I read, to include popping out the MoBo battery. The error message still pops up in Windows 10, and Chrome was still slow after the upgrade. Figured a clean install would fix it all...and now I have a very large paperweight...

It doesn't matter how many times I run it the Driver update will not hide and therefore I am unable to update my computer without installing this troublesome update.
Trying to upgrade from windows 7 to 10 I get unable to upgrade, Screen driver incompatible (old dell Laptop). So i created a Windows 10 iso and installed windows and lo and behold the screen works perfectly - now the problem is I can't activate as I can't upgrade so I don't get a windows 10 Key !!!!!!
View 9 RepliesFor some reason I have lost use of the Edit Photo options. How to get it back? I can open the photos just fine. But when I click on the edit buttons it says "Can't edit. We are having trouble opening this file for editing." I have not change my file types or anything else. Tried several different pictures and it just keep saying the same thing. Was working just fine for the last 2 years.

View 5 RepliesI did a clean install of Windows 10 on my Lenovo Miix 2 8 tablet. Everything went fine. But, I wasn't able to install the driver for the internal GPS. It's a Broadcom BCM4752. The installation of all drivers I found (including Lenovo) ended with the message: "An upgrade was needed. Please reboot your system and restart the installer." Which I did - but, it didn't work!
Installing the driver under Windows 8.1 and upgrading to Windows 10 worked without problems!
I have installed intel's driver detection tool and it informed me that I have a custom driver installed by the manufacturer. Acer site scanned my pc and found new driver VGA 10.18.15.4248, which i downloaded but upon installation tells me is the wrong driver for my pc. I have upgraded(haha) from win8.1 to 10, not sure if this is part of the problem. This driver was released 7/15. I ran windows driver updater and it tells me the driver I have, the only one btw, is current. I have tried to contact both Acer and Intel and get no answers.
View 5 RepliesI have an HP Officejet 6700 All-In-One printer which is connected online, no USB. The unit has been printing and scanning up I until I upgraded to Windows 10. The printer still works but I can not scan. I tried doing the command prompt "SFC /scannow" but the system could not find any problems.

When Connected to Windows 10, it recognised the Printer straight away.
No need for the Install disk, it was up and running in just a couple of minutes and even without the install disk the results are picture perfect.
Is there somewhere in Windows 10 where it would recognise the Scanner instead of the Printer, or would I have to use the Install disk.

View 1 RepliesI've been experimenting with Windows 10 using a VM (VirtualBox) before upgrading. One challenge has been to see if I could get my old 1999 Epson Perfection 1200 scanner working in Windows 10 since Epson do not provide any 64 bit drivers.
I discovered you can use the Epson 64 bit drivers for the Perfection 2400 and they work fine with the Perfection 1200. The Epson Scan program is fully functional for normal reflective scans and film scanning (if you have the attachment). The built in Windows scan program also works. This fix also works in Windows 8.
Here is how to do it:
Download and install the Perfection 2400U drivers from Epson USA, version 3.04A [URL] ....
Connect and turn on your scanner
Run Device Manager
The Perfection 1200U will be shown under under Other Devices
Select Update Driver
Choose 'Browse my computer for driver software"Choose 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'
UNCHECK the 'Show compatible hardware
'Click on 'Epson' in the Manufacturer box, and the scroll down through model until you find "Epson Perfection 2400', and choose that, and press Next
Ignore the 'Update Driver warning - choose 'Yes'; to continue to install.The Perfection 2400 will now be shown in Device Manager. Note that the Perfection 1200 will still be shown under Devices & Printers
Run Epson Scan and test the scanner. You may need to log out and log in again for program to work
New build. From a fresh install of windows 10 i try to install the drver for my IGPU Intel HD 530. each time i do that i get a BSOD with this message:
VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE igdkmd64.sys
Or sometimes it's
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXEPTION_NOT_HANDELED igdkmd64.sys
I've tried drivers from motherboard manufacturer CD, website and intel and some autodetect driver software. I always get the same behavior:
The screen start blinking several time ( black screen) before showing the BSOD then reboot and repeat it self. Even the driver downloaded by windows update have the same impact.
I've managed to install it in safe mode but when i restart in normal mode i get the same behavior.
I've tried 2 different monitors, VGA and HDMI , tried with UEFI on/off => same result.
I've tweaked once the tdr delay to 8 second, but didn't work.

I keep getting these two error
i) Driver IRQL NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error
ii) Driver_Power_State_Error
It was fine last night then suddenly today, this error keep appearing. Is there a way to fix it? I've been searching for solution but I still don't know what to do.
