View 4 RepliesI bought a UPS from a local company, and the software it comes with seems to work okay on windows 10, although officially it does not support this platform.
there are a couple processes that now start up with windows, one of them is java platform SE binary, the other one is Commons Daemon Service Run...
I can't find anything relevant in windows task manager startup tab, and also no shortcut appears in the startup folder.
I would rather not have these processes autostart, as it is a rare day that I actually need them, and besides, I understand that java is a security risk.
How can I disable them, until I actually want to run the UPS program?
i have this problem since a long time ago , and i can't seem to figure out how to fix it!
i am sick of this file, the option of "Open file location" is grayed out for it !

I want a program to start automatically on windows startup, Nothing needs to be done on the program I just want it to open up, can't see anything on the program's settings suggesting there is a way.
On task manager under the start up tab it says that it is enabled, although I have never seen it active even on the active programs list, I can't disable it either.
The program is Gigabyte OC Guru and I'm running windows 10. It's not urgent, just want it to start so the led on my gpu is the right colour.
I'm trying to get a program to autolaunch when I start the computer.
Previously, I used Task Scheduler, but it does not seem to work. I suspect UAC is making this hard for me. I have it set to default.
How can I make a random program run at startup without issues?

View 1 RepliesMy magnifier and narrator auto-start on the lock screen despite them both being switched off in the Ease of Use panel. The narrator turns off when the desktop loads and the magnifier stays on in the shape of the magnifying glass in the upper left area of the screen. It's not debilitating just annoying. How to fix it or maybe a regedit that can get rid of them completely?
View 1 RepliesI have three entries (among others) that are slated to startup when I logon. Each of them are featured twice in the start up tab of program manager.
On checking with autoruns I found that they occurred twice in the registry under

I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 on an eight year old laptop which previously was running Windows 7. Everything appears to have gone well and I am enjoying the new operating system. However, every time I boot up and get to the desktop a small box appears on the screen with the following wording "Warning. The program don't support the project" with an OK button and an X close button. Clicking on either of these closes the box and I simply carry on as normal. What concerns me is the bad grammar "don't support" and I am concerned it might be some sort of malware.
I attach a screenshot.
I have just started using windows 10 on a new PC. I have tried to download an anti virus program. It downloads and installs (well it appears to) but the program is not there when finished. Not in the programs lists or on 'remove programs' either. I cant find any way of searching the PC like I did in XP or Vista 'search for all files and folders'. Is this option still there hidden away to make things more difficult?
View 9 RepliesI just upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 two days ago. I installed Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 last night. Office seems working fine. However, this morning I cannot start any program, such as Adobe Reader and Google Chrome. No error message. I even cannot uninstall the chrome from Control Panel!
Nothing changed. Only one thing I notice is that Microsoft Visual C++ 2005, 2008, 2010 Redistributables have been added automatically.

View 4 RepliesI had a program in visual basic script which I used under Win 8.1 (from which upgraded) to set a daily restore point.
I've discovered that nothing happens when I double click it.
I understand vbscript is implemented in Win 10 and the dll is present.
