View 4 RepliesI am having problems changing my profile picture, I have looked around the internet and tried everything I could, When i try to change it I get an error saying "Setting the account picture failed. Please try again." I also cant see it on the lock screen everytime i reboot it.
View 5 RepliesWhen I installed Windows 10 I used a photo of me and another photo on the screen BEFORE the sign in screen. Now I can't figure out how to change these.
View 1 RepliesI have Windows 10 Pro and activated. I tried to change the picture on my Lock screen and the beads just keep going around and will not display the picture I have selected. So therefore it will not change So I am stuck with the old windows 8.1 pro lock screen picture.
I decided to try it on the laptop Windows 10 Home and I am able to change the lock screen picture to anything I want to. Is this a bug in the Pro version?
But how does one get rid of the picture of the ugly guy in the midde?
View 4 RepliesAs a keen flickr member I have a lot of photographs on my computer. These are all neatly allocated to different files, depending upon a variety of variables. So far....all is well.
Yesterday my neighbour kindly upgraded me to Windows 10. Everything seemed fine.
Today I tried to take 4 photographs off my camera and load them up to my computer. Initially I got a dialogue box asking me what I would like to do in future when I plugged in my camera - I said "upload the pix to my computer".
Previously they have always arrived on my desktop in a separate file. I would then edit them, afterwards splitting them up into different files, depending on what I want to do with them.
Anyway, this morning, after taken 4 photographs, I plugged in my camera. I then get a message saying "We found 880 photos. Would you like to import them into your picture folder". And the only alternatives given were IMPORT or CANCEL.
I do NOT want all my pix jumbled together in a picture folder. I want them all neatly organized into the folders I have set up.
Is there any way I can get rid of this 'Picture folder' and go back to using my existing folders (they are all still there, and all still containing the photographs they should rightfully contain.)
I can't figure why I get the generic gray circle with the person on it on my welcome screen when my computer starts up. My account shows my picture as a gold fish. My computer was set to auto login before I made the switch from windows 8.1 and upgraded to 10 and has been logging in with out my entering password since then just like the way I want it.
View 1 RepliesSo when I go to the lock screen in Windows 10 I can select a picture and the preview shows it fine. However when I actually lock my PC it still shows the default Windows 10 one. (Not a solid colour)
PC upgraded from Windows 7 recently. All updates applied.
I have tried so many things, deleted systemdata folder in programdata, tried running registry repairs, sfc scannow etc.
Why it will let me change the lock screen picture with no problems, change the preview but the actual lock screen image itself doesn't change?
Cannot find how to change/add picture to the login screen?
View 2 RepliesSuddenly the lock screen slideshow no longer works, it just stays at one picture. I have not made any changes to the folders i have set and there have been no windows updates recently. I tried logging out, I tried restarting but nothing works. What could be causing this...
View 3 RepliesHaving difficulty adding a picture / wallpaper to the lock screen. I have just set up windows 10 screen saver and I see you can change the lock screen back ground picture.
I have tried adding either one of the windows wallpapers or one of my own pictures but I can't find any option to save the image. on closing the window & returning to the lock screen the picture does not appear to save and returns to the standard blue background with date and time.
I can't find any option to save the image as a lock screen wallpaper.
I would like to change the picture that appears PRIOR to the login screen. It seems to be a default picture, chosen by Windows. I remembered when I first installed Windows 10,each time I started my laptop a different picture would appear and I'd be asked if I liked the picture or not. That ha stopped and now all I get is a picture of a sunrise. How can I change that picture?
View 1 RepliesFrom another forum there were people asking if they could eliminate the default sign in background picture. At the time, it could not be done.
Recently I posted a tutorial authored by Brink from another forum that allows users to change the sign in background pictures. That requires downloading something.
In this new build 10565 ( I think this started in build 10547, but I didn't have that build to know for sure ), we can now eliminate the background picture and replace it with solid colour. This can be done by Settings > Personalization > left side, Lock Screen > right side, under Show Windows background picture on the sign in screen, turn the slider OFF.
One of my 4 computer with a slideshow of pictures always gets changed to picture and then it is a BING-PICTURE.
All i need is the right setting in REGEDIT and maybe this can be fixed manually?
My self-built PC experiences random freezes. It is an Athlon FX6300 + Asus M5A97 motherboard and a MSI Radeon 270 GPU. RAMs are Corsairs.
What i mean by freeze? If i am playing a game the picture suddenly freezes and i hear a continuous sound where the music or sound stopped. I got no BSOD and there are no strange sounds or alike. I never tried waiting longer then 1 minute to see if something happens. The numberlock is unresponsive as is mouse and keyboard. A reset restarts the PC without Issues.
I ran Memtest 86 for 26 hours and it turned out with 0 errors or warnings. I made a crystal disk scan of my harddrive and it says its "Good". I tried different RAM and the issues persist. I have no option to try different Motherboard or CPU.My PSU is a 650W Corsair.
I run a USB mouse and keyboard. Both plugged in from rear into the case. I checked out all connections and it seems fine. Reseated all power connections, tried different RAM slots.I ran a sfc / scannow and it turned out good.I ran the DM Log collector and have attached the generated file.I have a feeling that a fresh installation either doesnt fail or fails quite seldom. The PC crashes mostly while playing my favourite Game Farming simulator 2015, i tried running it with a system monitor up and there were no signs of overheating or similar.
I can find a Picture folder, and some of my pictures are in the folder, but not all of them.
If I go to Start, File Explorer, On This PC, and then search JPG or IMG, then I can see some of my missing pictures, but nowhere close to the number of pictures that are on my computer. I also know the name of one of my folders. When I search for that name, the pictures show up, but again, I cannot find the actual folder!
There is one picture that I desperately need to find.
Bought a new HP Envy 17 laptop with Windows 8.1 and updated it to Windows 10. Logging in with a MS-Account
Some issues have appeared, one that is bothering me is the following:
I try to change the lockscreen picture, but Windows 10 will not allow it. It has a red banner at the top of the settings window stating that some of the settings are managed by my organisation.
This is completely silly as the laptop has never, ever been part of a domain or registered in an organisation. Neither has the MS-Account, it has been used on a single laptop before, but never as part of a domain or in an organisation.
How can I get my laptop "out" of an organisation that I have never joined?
There are some other settings that also are disabled, and I want to get control of my laptop.
picture card SD does not download pictures on Winows 10
View 1 RepliesWho's bright idea was it to make the scrollwheel go to the next picture instead of zoom in, in the pictures program. It's awesome that the default picture program plays GIF now, but for regular pictures I liked the scrollwheel zoom. Is there anyway to get this back or am I SOL?
View 9 RepliesSomehow, I've managed to set the location for Music & Pictures to the same location i.e. K Drive.
Restoring to default locations makes no difference, or should I say that whatever change I do to Music is replicated in Pictures & visa versus.
How to sort this out.
I should like to use a picture from my photographs in my pictures as background for desktop.
View 1 RepliesJust download Windows 10. How or what step do I need to take to get pictures to show in mail app? I don't see anything to show picture in mail and I don't like the red x in email.
View 1 RepliesWindows 10 - Background Image . Is there anyway to use my own .jpg picture as desktop background ?
View 1 RepliesI recently upgraded to 10 last week and I noticed that when I am clicking through my picture gallery, it stops at the last photo and doesn't restart from the beginning. In Windows 7 and every other version, you were able to loop through photo galleries.
This isn't a huge deal but I reference my photos a lot when I am doing work on my pc and it's kinda annoying to have to click out of the slide viewer and then scroll back up to the first photo in my folder in order to start over.
I've reinstalled W10 Pro x64 2 days ago and ergh.. my Microsoft Account picture just doesn't want to get synced, I checked the settings and although I didn't change anything, the pic still doesnt want to sync.
I went to Microsoft Account and edited the pic a bit, cropped it to see if it syncs this time but nope.
