View 9 RepliesI've been running WIndows 10 for a little while now, over a month. Now, for some reason I cannot download a file. If I try from Firefox, it fails, if from IE it fails and if from Edge it fails. I'm stumped??? I can surf the web but just can't download any file at all. I've tried downloading attachments from my gmail as well as software from other web sites.
View 9 RepliesIn Windows 10, I need to download sound files from a web site onto my portable device.
The files are downloaded, but I cannot specify where I want them to go; they all go to C:userdownloads, without pausing to ask me.
In Windows 10, when I try to open a file within a page or open an attachment it always goes to the Download folder rather than opening. This to say the least is frustrating. This never happened when using Windows 8.1. Is there any way to prevent this happening?
View 5 RepliesOkay, so I am trying to download something from a disk, but it won't let me because I'm not an administrator, except I am. I can't do anything about it because it says I need to try in an admin's password, which i do not know and it doesn't even give me the option to type in anything.
View 8 RepliesI have had Windows 10 for several months and have never been able to download videos from anywhere. I would like to be able to download videos of my 5 month old great grandson from Facebook that his mother puts on there.Prior to Windows 10 I never had trouble down loading videos.
View 1 RepliesYesterday, I downloaded the Win 10 upgrade to a flash drive. My plan was to use it first on an older Win 7 computer that isn't used much. Then, if successful, I would do it on my husband's new Win 8.1. It seemed to take forever and I didn't even think it had downloaded to the drive. But it did, and after lots of time, the Win 7 has Win 10.
Problem is, in the midst of downloading, it said that the administrator had to be signed on to continue, so sign out and switch users. That was hard to figure out, but I did it and now I don't know if the download is complete. Can I unplug the flash drive? I think I'm also an administrator and should be as I'm the only one who uses it. Is there a way to check if it complete?
Other question: Can I use the same flash drive to upgrade the 8.1? I think it's 64 and the other is 32. Should I just erase the flash and download the upgrade again?
I am planning on buying a new PC without an operation system, as it is cheaper for me to buy the OS separately but many are just a download license. Is it possible for me to use this license to download the OS to a usb and then just plug this USB into my new computer and install the OS that way?
View 1 Replies"What this error means is, your Windows 10 installation folder is unfinished and/or corrupted. Now, how do you fix that?
1. Go into "C:WindowsSoftwareDistributionDownload" and delete everything in that folder.
2. Now, run the command prompt as an administrator. Type in "wuauclt.exe /updatenow".
3. Go to your Control Panel > Windows Update and your Windows 10 should start re-downloading from scratch, hopefully without flaws this time.
I followed the steps exactly, twice and it still doesnt work.On another site they told me to go to URL... and download a program. Whenever i run the program it simply says "Something Happened" and closes.
I Only got 2GB of download files for Windows 10?It was said that it will have around 3GB. Why i got only 2GB?

Can't download batch file "10services_default.bat" to solve windows 10 start menu problem.

It will show were it downloads and says it is complete, but it will not open and run the program. It just disappears . I have went to downloads and tried to run it as administrator. Then it will pop up with a error code, Windows can not find the download make sure you typed the name correctly.
I'm not sure when this started, but when I first switched over I had to download iTunes 2 times which went through. Now nothing.

View 2 RepliesI have Windows 7 on my desktop pc and I'm considering the free upgrade to W10. However, I'm on a metered internet connection and can't afford the 4 or more GB free download for W10. Would I be able download the W10 ISO image to a flash drive or usb hard drive using my laptop at the local library which had WIFI internet access. And then, be able to install the free W10 upgrade from the saved image file to my home desktop? I do understand that W10 does make some concession on the forced W10 updates for metered connection, but I'll deal with that later.
View 4 RepliesI got home from work this morning and cracked open this laptop to update it, and at about the same time I went to PC via RC and started the update as well. I let both download and went to take a nap, after waking up I checked laptop and it was still downloading at about 85%, then checked the PC and it had already updated, so went thru setup and looks fine.
I had some late lunch and watched the download going to browse web for a bit, came back and at 94%, closed up laptop had company, after they left reopen laptop and after a bit checked and still at 94%, that was two hours ago and still nothing, I even shut down and restart and doesn't move.
I downloaded the Netflix APP from the Windows Store but it will not open, I even tried shutting down my anti-virus and firewall programs.
View 1 RepliesSo I've recently bought a Lenovo Yoga 300 and upgraded it to Windows 10 and none of the apps download nor do they update.
Here's the screenshots:
What do I do?!?
I have a legal copy ( and registered) of windows 7 ultimate on my desktop pc. I cannot get the windows 10 upgrade icon. have tried all the ways to fix the issue to no avail. I use to be a technet subscriber who could download windows software already as an iso file, so I'm looking for the same type in the windows 10 upgrade.
View 3 RepliesI know how to set other folder than DOWNLOADS to be the default folder for downloading content from internet using Edge. However, I was wondering if that can be changed all the way so I get to choose download location every single time I download something, or can it be made to work as "save as"?
I download different stuff and I hate going into the downloads folder, and then moving files I want elsewhere..
I upgraded to windows10 from 8.1 and now do not have bluetooth drivers

View 1 RepliesIt's been stuck like this for a couple of days.
It was working fine before that.
I think it stopped working after the cumulative update.
EDIT: The solution is:
1. Open the start menu.
2. Type msconfig.
3. Open "System configuration"
4. Select "Normal boot."
5. Restart computer.
I have windows 10 on my laptop when I go to the store app I try to install but it wont download...
