View 1 RepliesI'm the yahoo user, need to setup my yahoo account (dc...@yahoo.com) with Outlook 2016, so how to do this?
View 2 RepliesI had no problems with either upgrade on my laptop to Win10 Home or desktop PC to Win10 Pro, It's only after a recent update on my PC with Pro that I can't get past the password screen when logging into Yahoo mail. Filling in my user name/email account works fine but the next screen for my password won't work. I click the "continue" button but nothing happens. This is the only site so far where this happened.
View 4 RepliesI receive many e-mails in my Yahoo account every day since I am subscribed to many threads in this forum. Recently I noticed that I cannot access Yahoo mail. In Yahoo support they suggest deleting the browsing history. I did it and was able to access my e-mails again only to have the same problem next day. Is there any setting in Internet Explorer or Yahoo that would fix the problem without having to delete browsing history every day? Since I mostly use IE I am not sure if this problem appears in Microsoft Edge, Firefox or Google Chrome, but I would prefer keep using IE.
View 1 RepliesI have been trying yahoo mail in google chrome, mozilla and edge. Chrome and mozilla can't compose emails or reply to any mail in yahoo mail ,Tried clearing cache for mozilla and just installed chrome and this started right away. Edge, has a delay when typing messages, other then the delay in edge, all else works, although I have not tried to send any attachments at all.
View 1 RepliesI've already been to the Custom Default Programs settings, Yahoo! Mail is not listed. I want to be able to use a program not related to a browser, with an E-mail link, and it automatically send me to a browser with my E-mail so I can start composing the message.
How can I do this on Windows 10?
I have an Outlook account, of course, but I don't use it. Instead I use my Yahoo email, but for some reason the new app won't let me add it. Instead it only wants my Outlook email. Is there and way to add a Yahoo email?
This is what I get when I select Add Account in Mail settings.
A desktop icon suddenly appeared on my desktop.. If I delete it, the whole desktop is also deleted... The desktop folder on the drive, does not contain that icon...

View 1 RepliesI have just updated Windows 10 to Version 1501. I had to install Windows 10 from the Microsoft Update site, as the auto Update stalled 3 times at 91% .
Since then, when I open Mail from the Start Screen, although it opens OK , and there is a white horizontal line on the task bar, the Mail Icon is not there.
If I hold the cursor over the area where the icon should be, the small display comes up and I can click and open it from there OK, just the icon is missing.
I upgraded from Windows 7 Pro and find that the 'Show Desktop' rectangular space at the far right side of the notification area is missing although posted desktop images Windows 10 have the same rectangular space. However, if I hover the cursor over the screen border in that area for about 5 seconds the desktop appears and if I click on the border it remains otherwise it reverts to the previous screen. So, I assume that the 'Show Desktop' functionality is working OK even though the rectangular space is missing. How to restore the rectangular space?
View 3 RepliesI have researched but nothing works. I have One Drive from Windows 7 and the uploads I did, but no icon for Windows 10.
View 3 RepliesWhenever i rename a desktop shortcut, the icon turns white and never comes back, this started after i upgraded to windows 10?
View 1 RepliesI would like to create a shortcut icon on my Windows 10 desktop to execute the following command:c:Program Files (x86)Mozilla Thunderbird hunderbird. exe -safe-mode.I seem to recall that this was easy in earlier versions of Windows. (As were many other actions!).
View 4 RepliesI have lots of shortcut icons on my desktop for files and programs. That means 2 or 3 columns of small icons. It would appear the Win 10 will only allow 1 column. I've messed with the icon spacing and vertical spacing (regedit) and the vertical spacing works but horizontal spacing seems to have no effect.
View 9 RepliesI'm used to tweaking the values in HKCUControlPanelDesktopWindowsMetricsIcon Spacing in previous version of Windows, but it appears to work a bit differently in Win10.
Changing the Icon Spacing from the default of -1560 to, say -2000, gives more room for the icon title to spread out, but doesn't actually move the icons. e.g. I have some icons with long titles wrapped on two lines. By increasing the value to -2000 the titles now sit on a long single line, but the icons haven't moved. In fact, the icon titles now will overlap if I have two long-titled icons next to each other.
{Edited to add:]
Oh, for heavens sake! I had done several Icon Spacing tweaks in the registry and rebooted several times but nothing changed except the titles expanding wider. Then, I decide to move some icons around. Poof! The entire desktop grid adjusted the icon spacing, and rearranged the icons! Go figure.
Is there a way to make W10 move an Icon from the Taskbar to the Desktop? I could do this in W8.1 although I was using Start8.
This has become a minor issue with W10 since when I install an update to a program (reinstall a newer version) the "old" Icon in the Taskbar becomes unusable. That would not be a problem EXCEPT on two of my 6 W10 machines the install does not create a new Desktop Icon automatically!?
Also, is it possible to create a Desktop Icon from the All Apps list. I find the "Pin to Start" and "Pin to Taskbar" by right clicking on the program but the "Show Icon on Desktop" feature is not there or at least I can't find it?

I can get desktops using Windows/Tab
With win 8.1 all I had to do was right click the page and I was shown a small dialogue box asking me if I wanted to put the site on the desktop. Why did they change this?
View 1 RepliesAll of a sudden, my desktop icons have been superimposed by the Origin app icon (see attached image). (Edit: Not all of them, only .exes it seems?) I had a quick run with Avira on it but nothing extensive yet. Is this something that can happen or should I keep searching for malware?
View 1 RepliesHow can I put an icon for Spider Solitaire and Free Cell on my desktop?
View 1 RepliesI have factually just installed windows 10, given it the time it required and let it load.
First, my mouse was missing and the desktop icon names were white with clear centre of the words.
So I restarted my factual laptop. I regained my mouse however the desktop icon shortcut names under the icons themselves still remain see-through without the usual black colour.
I will never use OneDrive. I did the following which was supposed to uninstall it (I'm running Window 10 and Classic Windows.):
In the Run prompt:
taskkill /f /im OneDrive.exe
then
%SystemRoot%SysWOW64OneDriveSetup.exe /uninstall
I don't know if this worked. However, I still have the OneDrive on my desktop.
How can I remove OneDrive icon (and the Libraries icon) from my desktop? Dragging it to the Recycle Bin does NOT delete it.
I also would like to stop the automatic re-ordering of my desktop icons every time I start the computer, but perhaps this should be a separate topic.
when I started my PC the icons on the Desktop were sorted by name. I suppose my brother accidentally click on the sort option yesterday. They get sorted by name even when I click on Refresh. Is there a way to disable it because it's really irritating to arrange them every time I start the PC or refresh the Desktop.
View 1 RepliesI cannot add any accounts to my mail/calendar app in W10 on my surface Pro 3. Whenever I try to add a gmail/outlook.com account, I get the Something went wrong, error msg 0xXXXXXXX. Both with Gmail and outlook. I tried the solution MS suggested, to add it through the exchange server. But then I get a message that my account is not set-up for Azure AD.
I also tried to uninstall and reinstall the mail/calendar app. Doesn't work.
I also tried to "Turn on TLS1.0-3.0" thingy. They were already on.
All updates are installed.
It works flawlessly on my desktop with W10.
