How do you make the desktop in Windows 10 scroll right to left instead of up and down. I just don't like it going up and down. Other than this I like everthing in Windows 10 except I cant figure out how to get rid of the Xbox app. It was a smooth transition from Windows 7 and no problems
How do you scroll the desktop (with the aps) in Windows 10 from left to right instead of up and down. I used my landlord's laptop and his scrolled right to left but he didn't make it that way so he doesn't know.
I have multiple small scroll bars on my screen whenever I am done scrolling on a page. If I hover over the scroll bars with the mouse, the 'busy' windows thingy spins around. All my drivers say they are up to date. Picture attached.
They changed mouse scroll to scroll next/previous instead of zoom. I use a Logitech mouse with Setpoint installed and because of Setpoint smooth scroll, it scrolls through several photos on one scroll. Turning smooth scroll off, it doesn't always scroll next when the mousewheel "clicks". Another thing with my Logitech mouse is that I can't use the forward/backward buttons. They function as left click. Double click any and it zooms in. I can't change Setpoint settings per app because Photos isn't really a typical exe app like Notepad.
The last thing is that it seems to sharpen the photos even when I turned auto adjustments off. Compare Photos to Firefox and even Windows Photo Gallery and you'll see.So far, Windows Photo Gallery seems like a good alternative, except it doesn't play gifs (unless you click next frame really fast).
I upgraded to Win 10 from Win 7 yesterday. I now have a translucent rectangle on the upper left corner of my screen. It's a lighter shade than the background color of the desktop. Can't move or remove it & don't know what caused it but it is distracting as it also appears on screen when running an app. How did you fix?
So I managed to resize my recycle bin last night and I can't figure out how to make the icon smaller? it's been a while since I've played with Windows ...
If there a way to make the button to peak at the desktop (to the right of the notification area) bigger? It seems like it's about 1/2 the size (or less?) than it was in Windows 7. Is there a way to make that bigger again? I've currently got a "Show Desktop" button on the taskbar, but I'd rather just use the one by the notification area.
A customer brought me a machine with an issue I have never seen before. All desktop icons were gone and the only thing on the desktop is 3 lines in the upper left (opens an empty start menu), 3 lines in the lower left (opens all programs list) and the power button above that. I have managed to bring the desktop icons back but when I click the start menu it switches from the desktop with icons to the above mentioned screen with no icons. When it is on this new screen you can't right click on anything. A new user works as it should.
Whenever I connect my laptop to the TV via hdmi cable my desktop icons are moved and auto aligned in vertical columns down the left hand side of the page (my desktop). I have to drag them back to where I want each time. It's a fairly minor nuisance, but is there any way to avoid this, I've searched but can't find a definitive answer.
(I've tried, right clicking and unchecking 'align icons to grid' but that doesn't make any difference, it still always happens).
Only once in a blue moon do I see clean shortcut icons without arrows. It's almost always shortcut icons overlaid with black squares on the lower left corners. I had checked the Windows Registry against the steps in the article twice to find that they were all correct.
After upgrade from windows 7 everything works properly. After o while it was not possible to open the START MENY by left click the windows 10 icon in the lower left corner. Right click works ok. What is the reason to that?
All my desktop icons are stuck on the left side of the desktopAll file explorer view are stuck in details view. Now yes, I have turned off Auto-arrange, still refreshes to all icons on left. I have tired ALL sorts combinations of view + sort by... nothing. I have tired many anti-malware/virus scans and nothing has come up. I have tired CCleaner pretty much everything and the problem persists.
Of note, I had done a system restore a week and half ago to a specific point and that fixed the problem but for just a day, then it happened again. When I got around to having time to go for another system restore, that restore point was gone and now no other restore point is fixing the issue -_-That left me to think it might be something I installed or perhaps a windows update... but after having uninstalled pretty much everything I could that I installed in the last week as well as removing recent updates.... nothing. I have also tried making a new windows account (local)... nothing. Also tried in safe mode, still nothing.
Ever since I updated to Windows 10 I have not been able to scroll using the 2 finger gesture on my touch pad. I am using an Asus G75VW laptop and I have updated all my drivers, looked everywhere for one that will update/fix the issue, and nothing seems to work. I've tried installing the latest Synaptics drivers and using the Windows 10 auto driver update, gone through every setting somewhat related to pointing devices and blah blah blah. I just want to scroll without having to click and hold the friggin side scroll button.
Every time i go to rename a folder in explorer it keeps jumping to the top. I researched thru google and someone mentioned to go to Personalization, Color then choose Automatic pick an accent color from my background and turn off, so far thats working.
I have been having some issues browsing the web recently on my computer. I'll be looking at a website and scroll down and the website starts to flash white and whatever was there before about 3-5 times, very fast, before returning to the top of the webpage.
I haven't noticed any patterns in it's behavior, it can happen on all sites but doesn't happen 100% of the time. I tried using my other monitor (in case that it was bugging) and tried replacing the mouse (it happens when I scroll) but no luck with either. I wasn't sure whether to put this in Windows 10 or networking.
Just downloaded windows 10 update and my touchpad can move but cannot use any gestures which is a massive pain consider I can no longer scroll using two fingers. Why and how I can repair this functionality?
