View 2 RepliesIs it possible to remove a default library? For example I don't want the Videos library at all, I'd like to remove it from the system. Deleting the related folder does not make it's icon disappear from the navigation panel.
EDIT: I mean it can be removed from the Libraries group but it stays listed under "This PC".
I actually do use OneDrive, and I am not trying to remove the app entirely. However, it seems like if I remove the OneDrive folder from my libraries (music, pictures, documents), next boot they show right back up.
This is incredibly annoying as I actually want my folders isolated... Documents is my local documents, and only the stuff I want put in the cloud is in OneDrive.
I have tried many times to include folders in my libraries with no luck. I've done this tons of times before, so I know I'm doing this correctly.
Here's what I do : Right-click on my D drive "Music" folder, which is the folder I want to add to the "Music" library.
I select "Include in library" and select the "Music" library.
However, after this I do not see the D-drive music folder or it's contents in the Music library.
When I attempt to add the D-drive music folder to the "Music" library again I get a response that says "Music is already included in the library."
Even after restarting I don't see it.
I tried using "WinLibraryTool". I could see the libraries I had added but weren't seeing. I tried changing the libraries from here but I get an error. This app probably isn't 10 compatible.
I have tried this with many different folders and libraries but I have the same problem.
My default libraries keep popping back up, after they've been deleted.
Camera roll, pictures, saved pictures, music, videos - they won't die. Sure would like them to.
I'm used to working with quite a few libraries in W8.1 and would like file explorer in W10 to directly go to the libraries view if possible rather than the 'quick access' screen.
View 9 RepliesADDING Libraries to and REMOVING the This PC folder from the Save As dialog? I know how to remove and add these in File Explorer, but have no luck in finding a solution for the Save As dialog.I found this thread, but when I get to the value to be changed it already is set to that.
When you have an SSD drive with a secondary HDD for files, you can remap libraries to the HDD but saving files from a program is a problem. I guess another option would be to remap the This PC folders to the HDD and not show the libraries.
I couldn't fit it all in the title. Basically what I'm trying to ask for is if there is a way to remove the folders from "This PC" so I'm just displaying my hard drives like before. I'd like to keep the folders under quick access, and I would like to keep the folders in general, but they simply do not belong right by the drives under "This PC". I like change, but this one, I do not like at all.

View 1 RepliesHow do I remove "Folders" from Windows Explorer? I use only "Devices and Drives." I see nothing in folder and search options that lets me remove "folders" from Windows Explorer. Is this customization possible?
View 3 RepliesI have noticed that some folder i use have appeared under the quick access list and there does not seem to be a a way of removing them
Folders i have added to this list have a small pin on the right and its easy to unpin them but these folder do not have the pin so how do remove.
I accidentally set the .html file type association to be Microsoft Edge, instead I wanted to set it to a text editor. I am at the system settings, choose default apps by file type and I only have four options, three browsers and "choose from the windows store". Is there another way to unset this?
I tried to override this by providing file type association settings to filezilla to read .html by the text editor, but when I try to edit files, nothing happens. I'm not sure why.
I can not figure out how to remove Photos as my default SD card reader. It is totally useless, does not read my SD card and I think it is what has locked me out of my Photos folder.

View 1 RepliesI have almost got Windows Explorer to what I am used to using. Anyway, what the arrows are pointing to in this picture are called, and how I would go about hiding them? Also, is it possible to hide the Libraries? Using the Navigation Pane properties to check or uncheck Libraries has no effect.
View 5 RepliesI recently updated my win 8.1 laptop to win 10. Then for the first few times that I used this computer I noticed that my files were hidden in the windows.old folder. So I copied them to their respective libraries and moved on.
Then earlier this morning I turned on my laptop to see some updates happening. After it happened, I saw my computer apps go back, and some of my customization settings. However, my library files are nowhere to be found (documents, images, videos, sounds). How to recover?
I've added folders to my libraries (like music, pictures etc.) but in the explorer they don't appear there, on the left. Instead I (gather that) I see folders with the same names as the libraries (which is quite confusing)...
For example, in the "music" library I have added a big fat folder with mp3s (other than the "iTunes" you see in the pic), which does not appear when I click on music, here. Apparently, this is not the library but some other folder of the same name.
I'd like to see the libraries there, instead of these folders. Is that possible?
When I right click an image on a webpage and select "save image as" the explorer window that pops up doesn't have "Libraries" in the navigation pane.
I can manually navigate to one of the folders that is included in my pictures library but "Libraries" is just not in the list like it is in the main file explorer window.
Is there an easy way to transfer the contents of the libraries on my old computer (Windows 7) to my new one (Windows 10)? All the files have been transferred to the new computer and are in the same location as on the old one.
View 2 RepliesI have the option "Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or the taskbar" off.
However since the last update whenever I either copy or move a file into any folder windows puts that folder under the Recent group in the taskbar.
On Windows 7 start menu you could have a folder such as EA Games and then sub folders within. For example a folder for tiger woods golf, a folder for say Fifa and so on. It seems on Windows 10 you can only have one folder level. I have tried creating sub folders but all the shortcuts within the sub folders all appear under the one top/master folder when actually viewing the start menu. Am I correct in this observation/restriction?
