How do you set rotating wallpapers in the latest windows 10? It's only letting me choose 1 now. The only way I am finding is to download a theme and I don't want a downloaded theme. I wanted wallpapers that I created
View 1 RepliesI just upgraded my previous rig- so keeping the motherboard, CPU, GPU, RAM, optical drive. New case, SSD for Windows, HDD. After building, I ran the Windows 10 installer on the SSD with the HDD and ODD still connected, went off without a hitch. However after it restarted, it kept freezing with the Windows logo and the rotating dots after just a few seconds. I managed to get into the Windows setup (that comes after that booting screen) once, but when I was going through it the computer froze again. So I tried to reinstall- saw that having peripherals can impact things, so I disconnected the ODD and HDD and tried again. Once again the install itself on the SDD went fine, but same issue, even when I disconnected all USBs including mouse, keyboard etc.
I managed to get into Startup Repair (when the computer restarted after I exited the BIOS, which works fine), but it didn't find anything.The Windows 10 install is off an MBR-partitioned USB burned with Rufus.So what my very limited research and understanding of UEFI/BIOS firmware has led me to understand is that the initial USB with MBR partitioning is likely the issue. So if I re-burn the Windows 10 bootable USB, this time with GPT partitioning.
After closing down computer the other day, when trying to switch back on Windows start screen comes on with 4 squares and rotating dots, but the screen then just goes black or white with no mouse pointer.
I have tried F8 which goes into recovery mode and I have tried all repair modes, but none of them work.
it must surely be something to do with Windows as I can go into recovery mode.
I have the windows spotlight theme on my lockscreen and i like them. I was wondering if it was possible to somehow get them on my desktop as well?
View 7 RepliesMy laptop did an automatic Windows 10 update Friday and restarted but no program will open now and I have to hold the on key to restart it. I get about 15-30 second after it comes up to click on something and it might open but will stop responding shortly after. I have got task manger to open once and only AVG was running but it frozen before I could click on anything.
I started in safe mode and removed the last window updates only to had them reinstall when it restarted.
What at can I do? Is this a virus or malware or did the latest update do this?
Exactly as it says on the title. When I power it on, the GPU fans go full blast, it stays that way for a little while and shuts down automatically. There's no splash screens or anything either so I can't go into safe mode. Sometimes it shuts down almost immediately and then starts up again by itself. Sometimes it seems to start fine, the fans spin at their usual speed, but nothing appears on the monitor and eventually it just shuts down again, it's not properly booting up though because my drawing tablet's lights don't go on when I plug it in.
All this after the latest update. I restarted the thing so it would install the updates, but it got stuck on "Restarting" screen with the dot things spinning. I left it for several hours until I forced the shutdown and it has done this stuff since. I do recall the task manager not starting up from the security screen though.
What I've attempted so far:
Taken the battery and power cable off and held the power button for atleast 2 minutes.
Taken the second graphics card off. And reset the battery again.
Left it overnight like that to see if it would actually do anything (As if).
Started it up without the battery.
Tried to get into safe mode, nope.

Every single time I go and install the working driver for it, after a reboot Windows has done it again and reinstalled the latest driver. View 1 RepliesI have been using win 10 for quite a long time and am happy with it. This evening when I was opening up a word document it behaved strangely . I could shut it down but after that everything stopped working. Ctrl alt delete wont respond. I had to shut down the computer using the Power button. When I restarted the computer . It immediately went into update mode screen with the usual configuring windows and warning about not shutting down the computer .The screen is orange with circulating dots. ( first time I see an orange screen , its usually blue) .At the beginning there was a short indication of % like about 35% but now only circulating dots . Nothing else works . Its already been running for 1/2 hour or so. I will leave it overnight to see whether I can get to the log in screen.
What to do if I cant get to the log in screen ? Without log in screen I cant get to system restore? Is there a way to boot into recovery mode? I do have a Macrium image and a Macrium recovery flash drive. Will windows recognize this thumb drive on boot or do I have to boot into Bios first to change order of boot .
Alternatively can make and use win 10 recovery flash drive from another window 10 machine?
So whenever I'm setting up my background, it applies the image to both without giving me the option to set for a certain monitor.

View 1 RepliesI have an issue with the latest AMD Drivers on my Windows 10 Pro x64. Whenever I have the Crimson edition or 15.++ drivers (15.3 onwards) it crashes or gives a BSOD. The crash occurs repeatedly once you reach the desktop screen until you hit a BSOD but sometimes it shows a BSOD while logging in, the screen flickers a lot (white or sometimes black).
The solutions so far was to install a 14.12 omega catalyst or revert to Windows 7. TdrDelay and letting Windows 10 updating it from their own doesn't work either. BSOD error is VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE atikmpag.sys which happens sometimes before reaching desktop or if the desktop crashes too many times. 14.12 works but it gives limited FPS since it's outdated.
I recently did a reset on my Windows 10 laptop and it reset to version 10240. I am not being prompted to update to the latest version via Windows Update. How do I trigger the update to send TH2?
View 9 RepliesAfter installing the early January updates, I can no longer mount/linkto/attach my two NAS drives. They are connected through the same switch that my PC is on. I have updated the NAS firmware with reboot, and restarted the switch.
The Advanced Sharing Settings are set to "ON".
NB the volumes are mountable from my Mac under Yosemite.
This morning after windows installed these updates my startup time increased significantly. I've had fast startup enabled. It stays on the welcome screen for at least 10 seconds
