View 1 RepliesWhy does my wifi disconnect when computer not in use?
View 2 RepliesWant to access files on USB and in computer where there is no Wifi. Laptop with windows 10. Mainly entering spreadsheet data. Many miles from Internet/wifi or cell towers.
View 2 RepliesMy Lenovo Yoga 3 14 running Windows 10 x64 is disconnecting from the wifi for some reason. It will randomly disconnect from my wireless internet. None of my other devices are having this issue and my roomate's computer is fine as well.
View 1 RepliesI have a network that has 3 laptops running Win 10. 2 of the computers (haven't checked the third yet) indicate they are on the same network SSID. One computer can print from the printers on the network.
The second laptop had the same printers and was able to print to them prior to Win 10. Now the SSID is the same as the first computer yet it can't print nor can it see any printers oe devices on the network!
Tried a few different things to try and resolve this issue and it is just bugging me. The system is running fine it just crashes when I try to restart my computer. I only notice I had a fault because when I shut my computer down the monitor goes blank but the computer light is still on and running and it doesnt fully shut down. The error also pops up when I try to update/remove drivers for my networking device
The error I get is: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION(tcpip.sys)
I have updated all drivers via slimdrivers, only issue I am having seems to be with my Wireless Device
When downloading software from suppliers site it fails to install
I have tested the system memory, disk checker and all appears to be fine
I have attached some System Logs from Event Viewer as well as MSInfo & MEMORY.DMP
My desktop is connected to my router by Ethernet. However, the printer I use is in my wife's office on another floor. It is a wireless Epson Artisan 730. I have added a Dlink DWA-171 wireless usb adapter to my desktop to print wirelessly to the Epson.
However, every time I want to print, I have to disable my Ethernet connection so the WiFi connection will see the printer. Then I'm done printing and I re-enable the Ethernet (faster, more stable).
I installed W10. This problem appears to be random and happens a couple of time a month. It is really annoying. What happens is, the WiFi appears to stop working. It can't find any available networks and won't reconnect no matter what I do. I have even tried closing/restarting explorer but that does nothing.
If I try to shut-down or restart my computer, it just hangs on the shut-down/restart screen. I have to hold down the power button to get my computer to shut-down. The weird thing is, after a restart, it works fine ...for a few weeks. It just seems very strange.
I use a WiFi dongle. I have a couple of them so I tried each one - they all eventually give me the same result . I have a HP if that works.
I will be keeping the wireless turned off most of the time on my desktop, as I use it for live pro audio. Is there a registry hack to put the switch in there, even if the computer is not a laptop???
View 9 RepliesEvery time I try to join a wifi network, my computer crash within a few seconds. It says "system service exception" igdkmd64.sys in the bsod. So I just cant connect to the internet anymore.. im on my phone right now.

I have my laptop at work and have had no trouble connecting the company WiFi (they have Guest WiFi and a WiFi where you need to enter your company provided Username and Password). I have been connecting using my Username and password. Today I had to change my company login password. Now when I try to connect my laptop I get a "can't connect" message because the password saved in my laptop is no longer valid. But I can't find a place in Win10 to enter my new password.
I remember the first time I logged onto the company WiFi a Windows popup came up asking for my Username and Password (which was saved so I didn't need to enter it again - until now). This time not getting the popup - it just says "can't connect".
Running Windows 10 on a Dell Latitutde I was trying to setup a Netgear Wifi Extender because the Fios Router does not reach all the way to the other side of the house. I did the setup (so I thought) the way the manual told me and my computer was trying to connect to the extender, but it just stayed in "Connecting..." For a long long time. Eventually I gave up and thought I'd hit the reset button on the extender and try again.
Now my wifi adapter finds NO networks. All my other devices see all the networks.
The only other time this has ever happened I had accidentally hit the network adapter switch on the side of the PC, so I'm 100% sure that's not the problem and that it is 'on' in the settings. I've tried restarting the pc several times as well as toggling the adapter on/off, airplane mode on/off, and the switch on the PC on/off.. And it still sees no networks..
I have just replaced my WiFi card from (BCM943228HMB) to BCM94352HMB. Before replacing my WiFi card i done the following:
Made computer boot in safe mode with networking.
After that i replaced the card, then booted into windows 10 (safe mode with networking) and checked device manager. Everything was OK (See attached picture). I then tried to turn on WiFi, but it does not turn on.
Can't get computer to wake from master computer, worked perfect when windows 7 was on remote local computer? I'm I missing something in a setup.
View 1 RepliesI've got two wifi networks here at home - one very fast and one not so fast. My laptop insists on connecting to the slow one before the fast one, even though I have unset the "Connect automatically" tick.
Is there any way of either setting a wifi priority or of getting Windows 10 to ignore the slow network?
How connect laptop win 10 to samsung smart tv
View 1 RepliesI knew I should've never installed windows 10, but I decided to since it's free and all. When I successfully installed it and tried to connect to wifi, it didn't work. My wifi has small range (so people don't guess the password and use our wifi), but large enough for our whole house. I got right next to my router and it still didn't show up on the Wifi List.
View 1 RepliesI need to know if I need WiFi to install this if I have the ISO burnt onto a disk,
View 1 Replieswhen i use my laptop at home, it can connect to my wifi without any problems.
when i get to work, it refuses to connect to our wifi network. i have the correct password and user name. the wifi is turned on. i restarted the computer and that didnt work. I've tried everything i can think of, including the trouble shoot guide.
I have internet service from AT&T which worked great until I updated to windows 10. My pc now connects to the wifi just find, I can download updates, but I can not browse a web page. When I go into open a web page I get an error that the page can not be displayed. If I vpn to my work it works just fine then. I have reset the browser settings, created a new account on my pc and nothing has worked.
View 6 RepliesI have no wifi after upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7. Looking at Device Manager, I believe my Network Adapter is Intel(R) 82578DC Gigabit Network Connection. Looking online, I do not find a driver for Windows 10.
View 4 RepliesAll of a sudden I get "your device does not support Miracast" and wifi is gone !
I don't want Miracast.
Acer Laptop;was win 7 on it had upgraded to W 10 Pro and was using wifi until now ?
So, firstly I would like to say that I'm sure most of you have at least heard of this issue if you have never directly dealt with it yourself. This did not just start happening after I upgraded to Windows 10; in fact, it followed me from 7 to 8 to 10 now. Although, each time a new Windows is installed, the issue stops happening for a few days. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
The Problem : I can be doing anything. Listening to music, playing a game. Then suddenly, everything will stop and I'll look. Sure enough, I've been disconnected from my internet. Again, this has happened throughout Windows 7-10. All I have to do is manually reconnect, and I'm back. But usually only for a few more minutes. What I have noticed, however, is that it happens more frequently depending on what I'm doing/playing; I just don't know what makes this occur.
What I have tried : I have been trying to solve this problem for years, which obviously means I have scoured the internet, searching for every possible method that has been suggested. Here's what I've attempted:
Reformatting Windows (like I said, it goes away for a few days after a reformat/an upgrade, but it never stays away).Uninstalling my Wireless card and having Windows automatically reinstall it (this seemed to work for 30 minutes.)Playing with my router settings.Changing my Power Save plans.Playing with the Firewall settings.Uninstalling programs that seemed to be part of the problem.Searching for viruses.
Nothing was effective. And if it was at all effective, it was only temporary.
i have tried connecting to my school's apartment however it always goes to no connections are available and then airplane mode and shows connections are available. the Wi-Fi connects just fine in all other areas of the school byt not in my apartment. The apartment is located inside the school and there are a couple of access points. I can connect to my friends Wii-U just fine but not my laptop? And when I troubleshoot, it says "Problem with router or access point.
