Like most users I am still struggling with 10 and up until now have been using Outlook.com to get emails as I have not managed to get 10 Mail to work properly. One of the first problems I have is setting up the Mail window to show ALL the folders at once so that I can easily move from Inbox to Sent etc etc. How can I make the window appear as I wish?
View 8 RepliesSo, instead of using my browser for my emails I set them up in Windows Mail, but although it will show all the folders it won't show anything in my inboxes. I've tried syncing but to no avail.
View 1 RepliesI recently upgraded from W7 to W10. On W7 alt/tab would expand each open application window such that they were full size when alt/tab'd or mouse'd over to it. But on W10 they do not show full size unless you bring the app into focus by releasing alt/tab. I suspect MS did that because on W7 they had a bug whereby the list of open icons would fall behind current windows. But that was fixed with with a 3rd party app (AltTabFixOnce.exe).
how to get back the W7 form of alt/tab?
Mail App on my W10 PC can't show image for any email, but from Outlook and Outlook web it works fine. Here is an example of the same email in Outlook vs in Mail app, in Mail app the image can't be displayed, how do I fix this?

The search contact only works If I have sent someone a mail only from the Windows 10 mail app otherwise it doesn't show the contact which I might have save or synced when I have used it on web and also on windows 8.1 mail app. Why my contacts can't be displayed when I type on Windows 10 mail app.
View 6 RepliesI am having some trouble with Mail and Calendar app on Windows 10. I've just updated my OS.
Earlier today my wife synced her gmail account without any problems, the question is: we cant remove it, double clicking over the account don't show the option to remove.
Also, when I try to add my microsoft account i get an error message: 0x8000ffff
I thought I'd install Windows 10 Threshold 2 (not to make the same mistake twice, on a laptop I hardly use this time) to see if the built-in Microsoft apps are now any better than they were in July. Disappointingly, with the exception of being able to turn off 'Conversation View', the Mail app is just as diabolically poor as it was back then. But on top of that, another thing I noticed this time is that when you type a name into the 'To:' field, it doesn't even look up that name / email address from your 'People' app contacts. The auto-complete feature only populates for people you've previously emailed.
So basically, if you haven't emailed someone, it won't show their name despite their details and email address being listed in the 'People' app.
Of course, another problem with not populating the auto-complete addresses from your address book is that if a contact changes their email address and you update their details in the 'People' app, the Mail app will still use the old email address in the autocomplete dropdown, causing you to keep emailing the wrong address.
Did Microsoft seriously release a Mail app that can't even look up names in your contacts list?
I am wondering if mail app shows unread count on live tile? I have 2 accounts setup but don't ever see a count.

View 2 RepliesSo one time I decided to use windows 10 manager mail and people backup tool and then when mail app started to act unresponsive I imported them back and since then I can't remove add/delete any old email accounts.. Where is this thing stored or how can I remove them?
Remove an account - Cannot add any accounts to Mail, Calendar or People apps doesn't work since I cant access the accounts inside the app.. All I see is this e.g. People app..By mail app just this error if i try to add any account as seen on the right picture. Its like they're burred deep inside the system and I just can't get rid of them to add them new again. I reinstalled both apps and its still showing this list.. How can I remove these accounts?
At some point in the last couple of weeks the Send To/Mail Recipient function has stopped working. When I select a file and do the send to, Windows starts thinking, the explorer window that I have selected this from stops taking input and then eventually, with no error messages, the explorer window closes and desktop explorer resets.
My Default mail client is Outlook 2013 (15.0.4745.1000)
After upgrade from windows 7 everything works properly. After o while it was not possible to open the START MENY by left click the windows 10 icon in the lower left corner. Right click works ok. What is the reason to that?

View 13 RepliesLast, previously closed window outline remains displayed. Sometimes can 'force' it to go away by left clicking on an unused portion of desktop but not always.
Just got laptop for Christmas and has always had this problem so might be a setting.
Have looked at Advanced -> Visual Settings but didn't see any that looked like would fix (tried setting Best Performance - which turned everything off but didn't fix)
Ok so i have no clue where to ask this but i figured the answer might lie within a windows 10 shortcut so im gonna ask this here. My problem is i like to play games and have apps like twitch or pandora radio in the background of my game whilst i play, but when the action picks up i want to quick mute google chrome from within the game without have to tab out. How to set up a shortcut to mute chrome using a hotkey which can be toggled from within another window.

I have backup copies of my windows mail files on a portable hdd (JRS, Text docs, XML and PAT files) These were created on my old Vista PC. I am now using a new PC with Windows 10 and would like to import them. I have no way of exporting them to create a CSV file. How do I go about this?
View 4 RepliesSo I'm currently running Windows 7 Home Premium on my desktop and have two other hard drives for storage. The SSD is only 32GBs (Before you say, "Well 32GB's is way to small for an SSD" I know. But it works and I still have 3-4GBs free.) and I'm going to make an attempt to upgrade it this summer to a Samsung 840 EVO but I may be delayed because I'll be on vacation most of the summer. So my question is, can I fit Windows 10 on it because you need at least 20GBs to upgrade. But is that overwriting Win7? Do I need to install Windows 10 on my storage drive then migrate it to the SSD?

View 2 Replieshow in Windows 10 do you completely disable the Windows key on the left, far to many times in game have I accidentally hit this damned key and want it gone. I had a .reg file to do this but it was for Win7 and doesn't seem to work in Win 10.

Not sure if you will understand my problem but I tried to search it everywhere but was not able to actually find the correct searching criteria so I was not able to fix my problem. My laptop has win 10 and it was always in English. All my windows used to have the menus (file, edit, view...etc.) on the left and the (X) to close the window on the right. for all my windows like control panel and my computer. But now they are reversed (X) on the left and menus are on the right.

View 2 RepliesI've just noticed a feature which I don't think was present on Windows 7, but is on Windows 10.When a pop-up window is opened by an application the window is not aligned with the top left corner of the screen, it is slightly padded to the right. This seems to affect both pop-ups from browsers and from other applications (i.e Tkinter python frames).
Is there a way to prevent this from happening? I have written a program that interacts with an application that creates these kinds of pop-ups and my program is expecting the windows to be about 7 pixels to the left of where they are appearing.... This can be tested by turning off your ad blocker and going to URL...
