View 2 RepliesFirst time to use the Store App today to install some apps after upgrade to Win 10 for 2 weeks. It is not working, The App open but nothing show up, it keeps displaying downloading sign. I have no way to upgrade or uninstall this App
View 1 RepliesUntil yesterday everything was working fine. This night I shutdown my computer and this morning, when I started it up, I noticed the icons of my dekstop in the default location and with the default dimensions.
I repositioned them , I changed icon dimensions again but if I sign out/sign in , restart , shutdown/startup the computer , all my desktop icons go back to default position and default dimension.
I am having some trouble getting the default store apps to work. As for the store itself, it used to briefly show the splash then crash. Now it is just an unknown file type that doesn't do anything when clicked. I have tried some of the more common fixes, like the powershell re-register scripts, but none work, all returning errors of one kind or another. At this point, would it just be easier to "Reset this PC", or is there another fix I may not have tried?
View 8 RepliesI'm running Windows 10 Pro x86_64. My little cloud icon says, "not signed in". I'm signing on my computer with my Microsoft account and OneDrive gives absolutely no clue to any of this. No way to sign in with OneDrive and my normal account is fine.

View 1 RepliesAbout 20% of the time whenever I sign into my laptop since I have it locked using my Microsoft account my laptop decides to just lock up and be stuck trying to sign in. I either have to wait until it goes back to sleep or restart it which gets quite annoying. This isn't exactly a Windows 10 issue since I been having it since windows 8.1
View 2 RepliesI just installed the latest version of the Windows 10 Technical preview and it lets me boot in to the sign in page, but as soon as I click next or press enter after typing in my password, the page goes nowhere and eventually does the usual windows "not responding" fade to white followed by an immediate reboot of the computer. Is there any way to work around this? If not, how would I go about reverting to windows 7 if I am unable to access the OS itself?
View 1 RepliesI've had a problem where Windows was booting up fine sometimes, but other times it couldn't find the desktop settings, and I couldn't open any files (even though I could browse the hard drive) and there was no Start menu.
I've been trying various things to fix this, one of which was to set up a new user account. I followed instructions to open Powershell and I typed "net user TestUser password /add". It said it was successful.
Now I cannot even get into Windows. At the sign-in screen there are no users available at all (I just have the nice picture of blue window). I have tried shift-Restart to get to the troubleshooting options, but this doesn't work, it just restarts the PC and I get back to the same sign-in screen.
Just noticed my notification icon has changed and now has a little minus sign in the bottom right corner of it. What does this mean? I have most app notifications set to "on" only mail and onedrive are selected to be off.
View 2 RepliesI did a reset on my windows 10, then suddenly it went blank screen cant reboot so i decided to unplugged it , when i try to turn it back on cpu not getting any power fans arent moving either
View 2 RepliesI have tried to sign in with a Microsoft Account on by Windows account - When I do then it asks for my password on by Windows account. When I enter it I get the message "Oops something went wrong. Whatever happened, it was probably our fault. Please try again."
View 4 RepliesSign in option does not respond in Windows 10. I do not want to sign in every time I use the computer but I cannot change the setting.
View 6 RepliesThe situation is that I upgraded from win7 to 10 and I have a basic "local administrator account". When I go to my account settings and try to click on "Sign in with a Microsoft account instead", nothing happens (there is a brief background window that flashes and then nothing happens).
Similarly, if I try to login to the xbox one app, it also says that it could not sign me in. If I click on the "sign in with a different Microsoft account", it presents me with the option to "choose an account: Microsoft account". When I click on that, again nothing happens at all.
I get the same results if I try to turn on Cortana-- when she eventually asks to connect to a Microsoft account, I click "sign in" and again nothing happens (here again I sometimes see a brief window flash in the background but I never get a login screen.
Last but not least, I get this same result if I try to add a Microsoft account to the Mail App in Win10. As soon as I try to click to add an Outlook/Hotmail account, it flashes and nothing happens. I am able to add other types of accounts to Mail (google, etc). (Oh, and if I try to login to the Microsoft Store I also get the same login problem as described).
I'm really bummed b/c I cannot use a lot of features in Windows 10 and how to hook into a Microsoft account.
Things I have tried: I run windows updates constantly just to be sure, I have rest my "clock" and time settings repeatedly, I have made sure my location settings are turned 'on'. I have tried turning all of these things off and then on, then rebooting and checking for updates...still no way to login to Microsoft account .
I am enjoying my upgrade of Windows 10 except for I can't sign-in with my Microsoft account. I went from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. I can log in with a local account (same as Windows 7). I can't download any apps from the Windows Store, Microsoft Edge doesn't work like it should. BTW, when I click on "sign in with Microsoft account instead" in the settings, a window wants to pop up but suddenly disappears.
View 3 RepliesI signed in successfully in Windows 7, but 10 somehow evades me & goes to my browser Firefox. I don't know what to do.
View 1 RepliesCurrently I am signed into a local account in Windows 10. so I tried to sign into my Microsoft Account to use all MSN apps... But every time I click on the " Sign in with a Microsoft Account instead' nothing happens! As a result I can't use the essential MSN apps ! I don't want to go back to Windows 8.1 and then again upgrade to 10!
View 5 RepliesWhen I turn on my computer it is now necessary to sign in before the computer will finish turning on.
View 1 RepliesThe computer works great but is acting slightly strange and I think it can be fixed but I am still new to windows 10.I cannot sign-in to the desktop using the keyboard now. I am forced to use the touchscreen. The computer barely wants give me the touchscreen number pad on top of that. Is there something I can do to correct this? I would much rather use the keyboard again for this.
Also I keep getting what appears to be a volume control on the desktop (see photo). It appears on the desktop then disappears only to appear and disappear again later.
when I start Windows 10, I have to sign in (without giving a password) to the last User that was signed in. In other words I don't have any options as to what User can sign in. But, when I start Windows 10, I want to be presented with a screen where I can see all the Users on my system. Then I want to be able to select which User to sign in. At the moment I'm having to log off to see this screen showing User options. Can I use secpol.msc?
View 1 RepliesI have fingerprint scanner.. I works in when I was in windows 8.. tried the same driver in windows 10 but "windows hello" is not appearing in my sign-in option... Why? My laptop is hp elitebook 8440p and I'm trying to use its built in scanner....
View 2 RepliesI recently was forced to create a new user account on my Windows 10 PC since old one got corrupted. This new one is a local account/administrator. When going to the account settings I then go to the "Sign in with a Microsoft account instead" option which works totally fine. I am asked to input the email of my Microsoft account and password. So far so good. After I do that I then encounter a screen that says "Sign in to this device using your Microsoft account". It asks me for my current Windows password one more time and says the next time I sign into windows I'll be using my Microsoft account password. So I then enter my windows password and here is where the lovely screw up happens that says "Oops, something went wrong. Whatever happened, it was probably our fault. Please try again."
I've tried countless times and attempted to skip this page by clicking next and nothing. I can't use my Microsoft account at all on this computer it seems anymore.
With Windows 8,1 I was able to sign out of my account and then put the PC to sleep (or shutdown, restart or hibernate) by selecting the option in the sign-in screen. But there is no power icon or any power options on the Windows 10 sign-in screen. I can only put the PC into sleep mode while signed in.
View 3 RepliesI am trying to add a User but logon fails with msg "The ProfSvc service failed the sign in. User Profile cannot be loaded"
I created the new user via "Settings/Accounts/Family & other users users/ Add someone else to this PC"....
How to remove the e-mail account from Windows 10, or how to disable the sign in requirement.
I followed the instructions but it did not work.
When I switched from 8.0/8.1, one of the things that thrilled me the about 10 was that I didn't have to sign back in every time the computer sent to sleep!
Now, after the last update, I have to do this again. What a major PITA! Is there any way to disable this? I have absolutely no reason to be worried about security in my own home.
(I also notice that I am now occasionally getting some strange screens upon starting up and before the sign-in screen. I have been ignoring them. The last one (and maybe the earlier ones, too) asked "Do you like what you are seeing?" What the heck are these
