View 1 RepliesIn the metro version of IE for Win8.1, you could swipe right to go back to the previous page in the browser. I cannot find any way to do that with either IE or Edge in the just released version of Windows 10.
Is there any way to simply swipe on the page to go to the previous page so that you don't have to go up to the top left corner of the screen and hit the back arrow?
if i go to history and want to remove it all of a sudden it shoes history and recent tabs and even after the history is deleted by checking the padge and hitting delete the recent tabs still shows the last 9 or 10 sites you have been on?
View 1 RepliesI followed all instructions on closing tabs at shutdown but nothing works.
View 7 RepliesRight clicking Google Chrome on my taskbar in Windows 10 isn't showing up with any options such as Incognito mode or my recent/common tabs. I recently refreshed my PC after having issues with Windows 10, before refreshing right clicking chrome only gave me incognito, no recent tabs section. I lived with it since it didn't bother me too much but now that I've refreshed it's gotten worse by giving me less options. Right clicking chrome on my taskbar now only shows: Google Chrome, unpin, and close window. how I could fix this?
View 2 RepliesToday I updated my win8.1 to win10 on Lenovo Y580. Everything works perfectly fine, but I make a habit of switching to previous/next pages in chrome by swiping 3 fingers to the left/right. It has been this way since windows 7. Now swiping changes tabs in win10 (like alt+tab) and it's really irritating.
Is there a way to change the registry in Synaptics to previous options or am I doomed to work with backspace?
I've been unable to find a way around this, but since updating to the 8/05 Win 10 update, I've lost the Action Center (Swipe from right edge) and open programs (Swipe from left edge) gestures on my Surface Pro 2. I've uninstalled the update and regained the gestures, but once it installs again, the same issue presents again. I haven't found a place to enable/disable gestures like these. This is repeatable each time I uninstall and reinstall the update.
View 7 RepliesI have just installed Windows 10 and am using Google Chrome with it. The tabs on top of the screen are very small and I would like to enlarge them. I have looked all over and can't seem to find out how.
View 1 RepliesEvery site tells me to access search in windows 10 either by swiping from the right or opening the start menu. I have no search tabs in either place. Cortana works but it will only search the internet . How do I search my computer like I could in windows 8.1
View 1 RepliesDo you see how his web tabs appear in the taskbar? I remember that from when I was a kid and I was using XP and I'd like that back but I can't find a way to enable it, and I'm not sure what that's called.
View 1 RepliesSince doing a refresh of Windows 10 some of my menus or whatever are messed up. It is hard to explain and I searched but since I don't know what it is called I will post a screenshot.
As you can see the tabs on the top are not flat and look like they did from Windows 2000. I can't seem to get them flat. I tried changing themes and I even created a new profile but they are still messed up.
When clicking on Gmail in IE 11, 2 windows for Gmail open. No big deal, I just X one out, but is there a way to have only one window open?
View 2 RepliesWhen i open a new window or tab it opens with 200 % size every time it is so annoying!
Latest Windows 10 Build 10532
In Google Chrome, I can right-click a favourites folder and open all links in separate tabs. Can't find a feature like this in Edge - am I missing it? or just not there yet?
View 1 RepliesSo I usually have 6 tabs open that auto-refresh by itself. After a period of time, (maybe about 30 minutes), I come back to check that 5 out of the 6 tabs turned into a blank screen but is still loading/auto-refreshing. The tab that I stayed on did not go blank, but others did. I disabled "Use hardware acceleration when available" and cleared cache. Are there any other solutions? I'm using Windows 10 and Chrome is up to date ...
View 1 RepliesFirst off I'm not sure if this is a windows 10 problem. I recently installed windows 10 and reinstalled chrome and ever since I've been getting these weird black bars in chrome every so often when I switch tabs.
Here's what it looks like [URL] .... you can see it in the bottom right
Microsoft Edge goes into an auto refresh page mode while switching tabs when there are 4 or more tab opened.
View 1 RepliesSince last week i'm noticing, that live tiles, app list and description of Edge tabs are getting grey or so dark that they are unreadable (only tabs).
All this is happening randomly and it is changing with every tab opened, changed or even with start menu showed up.
Here is picture of what i meant...only calendar tile stay in normal accent color, the rest is darker.
Btw all the apps are starting/working normally.
I am having a problem whereby my default browser keeps changing from IE11 back to either Edge or blank. Why this might be happening or what program is causing it to change? I thought it maybe the Windows Auto Update that keep changing but am now not so sure of that since the last recorded update is back on 14th January and my default Browser got changed again last evening.
The only other programs that run regularly are Norton Internet Security and Norton Utilities. However, I have been through the settings of both of those programs and cannot detect anything that would indicate that they change the default Browser.
Also, in IE11 under the advanced tab I have ticked the option the "Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the default web browser" and yet (a) I do not get a notification and (b) the default browser keeps getting changed.
After I upgraded to latest windows 10 build (1151) ,I seem to have a problem of Chrome opening the first several requested web pages after computer comes out of "sleep" mode. I get the page that says cannot connect . After I hit retry it finds it . Sometimes the web pages don't load properly ie no pictures , just a listing or the picture color is not right. After a reload it works fine. After the first few pages of problems everything works fine again. It's like Windows or Chrome is having some delays accessing the requested pages when starting from a sleep mode.
View 9 RepliesSo we have these tools that need elevated rights within IE to install correctly. In windows 7 we always did the right click, run as admin thing. However, now after the upgrade and Edge there seems to be no availability to run it as admin. Tried all the icons & right click that I can find for Edge but not getting the option anywhere.Tried also with the Edge app from /Windows/Systemapps and it didnt give the option either. Of course if I go back to IE it allows me..
View 9 RepliesEdge is a great browser! However one thing I really miss from IE is having my favorites sidebar always visible at all times. With Edge you have to select it EACH TIME and pin it to the window display. This becomes a real pain and seems unnecessary. Is it possible to configure the favorite's sidebar to be always on by default? A real extra would be to have it on the left hand side again like IE which seemed to have this facility/capability just right. The horizontal favorites across the top is useless because so few are visible. (No luck with other forums) else I'm going back to IE.
View 7 RepliesWINDOWS 10 PRO: Pursuant to the tutorial in Ten Forums, the FAVORITES folder in the EDGE browser is stored in the DataStore folder. Is that correct? Is the tutorial correct? My check of the folder indicates the tutorial was correct.
View 6 RepliesWhen I first got Win 10, the Edge browser worked great but after a time it simply quit working. The opening screen with the icon comes up but then it goes back to my desktop. I can still use Explorer but Edge had some features I liked and I would like to go back to it before too long. I have seen some comments here about proxy servers and the like but I am not brave enough to tinker with that.
View 7 RepliesThe browser icons that used to sit on the bottom of my screen have disappeared. How do I get these icons back?
View 1 RepliesI upgraded my computer to Windows 10, however I cannot play Flash content in Edge browser. It is enabled in the advanced settings in Edge and it is still not working, saying I have to update my Flash plugin, however it is supposed to be bundled with Edge.
I do not have a problem with Flash content in Chrome or IE11 browsers, but would like to be able to use Edge as well.
Now, I also encounter the following error message from Windows Update:
"Security Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3087040) - Error 0x800f0922"
which I guess is related to the issue of missing Flash Player in my Windows.
